in delaware. the lehigh valley, mostly cloudy, a chance of showers, 62 degrees. 60 for new jersey, close to 60 in new jersey. at the shore, 55 with the wind blowing and the rain at times. the suburbs and philadelphia up to 60 this afternoon. i'll break it down hour by hour so you know when to expect to put up the umbrella in ten minutes. first, jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. that's right. we're starting off with an accident scene involving a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle. this is in coatesville on route 30 eastbound. because of the accident scene, investigation underway now, as well. this portion is closed around ra route 82. the alternate there considering you won't get by on the eastbound side, take lincoln highway directly underneath it. it shouldn't be that big of a deal at least for now considering it's only 5:00. we're not seeing a lot of traffic. checking in with the p.a. turnpike, watch for construction on the westbound side between downingtown and morgantown. a left lane closed there. 22 minutes for our total drive time between route 1 and valley forge. additionally, we also have the speed restriction -- not speed restriction, the speeds, the average speeds are into the mid 60s there, as well. we'll end on route 309. here's the cameras around the p.a. turnpike. looking good in both directions. no big problems or delays. back to you. a suspect under arrest following a deadly shooting in philadelphia. east pence street in germantown, a man was shot and killed after midnight. police captured the suspect as he ran from the home. officers recovered a gun believed to be the murder weapon. an argument led to the gunfire, officers say. 5:02. 50 degrees. president trump is days away from marking his first 100 days with a speech in pennsylvania. he has a challenging week ahead. first, trying to stop a government shutdown, and a new effort to repeal and replace obamacare. nbc10's pamela osborne joins us live in the digital operations center. this poll gives him low marks for the first 100 days. >> reporter: the poll is the latest nbc news/"wall street journal" poll. 45% of people surveyed say the president is off to a poor start. since february, president trump's overall approval ratings have dropped 4%, bringing the overall ratings to an historical low. today, lawmakers will return to the capitol from a two-week break. will they stay? government funding runs out friday. congress must pass a comprehensive funding bill to finish the year. otherwise a government shutdown could happen. and there are new stumbling blocks. president trump has requested an increase in military spending and on the border. the timing couldn't be worse for the president who hits the 100-day mark on saturday. he's still trying to get legislation passed even with the government shutdown looming. the white house is pushing the house to vote on a new republican health care bill that will undo much of obamacare. president trump is also set to unveil his tax plan this week. to mark his 100th day in office, president trump will hold a rally in harrisburg on saturday in what's already shaping up to be a busy week for the president. in the digital operations center, i'm pamela osborne, nbc10 news. >> thank you. also today, president trump is hosting a meeting with united nations security council. 14 diplomats from around the world will have lunch behind closed doors with the president. envoys from russia and china will be there. those countries are outspoken critics of the president's actions in syria and north korea. the topics are expected to come up. so will the president's harsh criticism of the u.n. and his plan to cut u.s. funding to it. a jewish watchdog group says anti-semitic incidents are up sharply in the u.s. since the november election. the anti-defamation league reports an increase of 86% in things like bullying and vandalism since the beginning of the year. there are 541 reports of problems ranging from physical assault to cemetery vandalism. in february, at least 100 headstones were knocked over or damaged at a jewish cemetery in philadelphia. local community centers were targeted by bomb threats there week. an israeli american man has been charged in those threats. in france, the presidential election runoff next month will pit emmanuel macro against populist marine le pen. the two candidates topped the field in the first round of balloting yesterday. none of the 11 hopefuls got 50% of the vote. marine le pen and emmanuel macro got the most and will face off on the 7th. after the election, protesters burned cars, dodged riot police. in paris, at least three people were detained. two others were hurt. some businesses were vandalized. today in philadelphia, convicted cop killer mumia abu-jamal will have a hearing to decide if state court decisions between 1995 and 2008 denied him his freedom should stand. supporters plan to demonstrate during the hearing. abu-jamal was sentenced to death for killing philadelphia police officer daniel faulkner in 1985. a federal appeals court later changed the sentence to life without parole. 5:06. if you ride septa's regional trains to work, check the schedule for changes before heading out today. changes took effect yesterday. some schedules are different by just a minute. septa made the changes to make the system more reliable. septa's scheduled changes are posted on nbc10.com. how much you ride to -- how much you pay to ride septa will be the focus of two public hearings today in center city, philadelphia. the agency wants to increase fares on its buses, trains, and trollies, and parking facilities starting july 1st. septa's holding public hearings in all five counties of its service region. tragedy hits a family in new york. five people including children are dead from this fire that gutted a home in queens. a charred shell is all that remains of the home that caught fire yesterday afternoon. neighbors could only watch as firefighters tried to rescue the people inside. the victims range in age from 2 years old to 20 years old. >> incredibly difficult moment for people on this block to see a family literally destroyed before their very eyes. this is a very, very painful day. >> neighbors reported seeing flames on the first floor that quickly spread throughout the house. the cause of the fire is under investigation. philadelphia police still looking for the carjacker they say crashed a car just blocks from where it was stolen. early sunday, a man forced the driver out of the car in southwest philadelphia. the gunman crashed into a parked car two blocks away at 69th and dix avenue and escaped. former nfl player and convicted killer aaron hernandez will be laid to rest today. he died by suicide last week in his jail cell in massachusetts. private funeral services will be held today in his hometown of bristol, connecticut. the former patriots player was serving a life sentence when he was found hanging in his cell. this morning, we're awaiting a response from the trump administration after north korea detained a third u.s. citizen. nbc news confirmed the detainee is tony kim, a korean american who taught accounting. there are reports that kim was in north korea on an aid mission, then was stopped at the airport while trying to leave the country. two other americans detained in north korea are serving prison time there. 5:08. a dry view from center city, dry for now. we have some showers on the way. the showers are already in delaware and south jersey. that's where most of the cloudy skies have been overnight. temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s. where it's been clear, it's been chillier. the lehigh valley, some of the suburbs looking cooler this morning. 48 in sadburiville. to the north, cooler temperatures for new hope at 42. bedminster is 43 degrees right now. we will see the temperatures climb. that's in spite of mostly cloudy skies and showers coming in. the few sprinkles right now are in new tassel county into new jersey -- new castle county into new jersey. central delaware seeing activity. even reading seeing sprinkles. nothing heavy here. don't be surprised if you see some light showers this morning. later this afternoon, just to the south, you see the skedier rainfall. some -- stead area rainfall. -- steadier rainfall. hour by hour, this is what it looks like. 8:00 this morning, very light showers moving into the suburbs and into bucks county. steadier showers will be across south jersey and into extreme northern delaware. the showers will swing through, and we've got a break early this afternoon. this is noontime. you see the showers pushing in to the lehigh valley and trenton area and scattered showers to the south. those will look more impressive this afternoon. at 4:00, the steadier rain reaching into the suburbs for chester county, even into berks county, 5:30 this afternoon, the rain will still be coming down. yes, rainy into tonight and tomorrow, as well. there are drier days ahead, i'll show when to expect them with the ten day on 10 in a few minutes. 5:10 on this betsy ross bridge is nice and clear. so are the walt, ben, moving into philadelphia, you'll be just fine for now. also in coatesville, watch for a crash, route 30 eastbound around route 82. that's closed here. it's involving a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle. there are injuries on the scene there, as well. accident investigation is underway. you can take lincoln highway here. underneath that, you can use that to get by the scene. we'll end with the construction over in langhorn. route 1 north and south were closed at oxford road. they were diverting traffic and allowing them to get back back to the 1780s. it was sitting in a record office. it was believed to be made in philadelphia and new york and may have belonged to a british politician who supported the colonists during the revolution. check your freezers for frozen hash browns. they're part of a multistate recall. mccain foods says two-pounds bags of the harris teeter southern-style hash browns may have pieces of golf part of her leg to bone cancer, said she was glad to hear about this latest product. >> it helps you to accept your body the way it is, missing a limb. i think it sends a great message to the world that you should love the body that you're in. >> the company's designer says she's working on teddy bears that have prosthetic limbs, as well. the company's donating some of its sales to the national amputee coalition. very nice. we've heard a lot of negative things about air travel for sure. >> yeah. how about something nice instead? atlanta falcons wide receiver muhammad sanu tweeted a photo of a note he was given by passengers a flight. a family thanked him for setting a positive example for their son. they said the 10-year-old watched the nfl player make healthy food choices on the flight. degrees. limited sunshine this morning. clouds move in with a chance of showers during the day. 50s for the suburbs. 60 for lansdale. allentown, 62. the lehigh valley will have more sunshine and will be warmer than the rest of the area. trenton and voorheis, cloudy and a chance of showers to the south. those will move north. we'll see wind and rain at times at the shore. 55 degrees in atlantic city. wilmington up to 58 degrees this afternoon. definitely not what we saw on sunday. that beautiful weather is going to take a break. more spring showers starting to move into the reading area. you see light showers moving through lancaster and into berks county. and to the south, yes, those some scattered showers for delaware and south jersey. the steadier rain is approaching d.c., and we will see that later today. in fact, we'll see this system for a couple of days, even into wednesday morning. there's a possibility we'll see some showers. so you'll get this out of your rain gear today and tomorrow. here's the future cast. you see that system building to the south at 12:30 afternoon. our skies are mostly cloudy. we'll see a few showers this morning. the steadier rain is just to the south until we get to the late afternoon and evening hours. this is 6:00 this evening. look at that steady rain -- especially in delaware and south jersey. berks county and lehigh valley may be waiting for rain, but skies will be cloudy. the rain will be pushing into the areas late tonight. and the chance of showers still around tomorrow. 5:15 in the morning. scattered showers. during the day tomorrow, more rain coming in from the south. that's 11:45 in the morning. in the afternoon, we'll see some of the steadier, heavier rainfall pushing in. light showers this morning and this afternoon. steadier rain this afternoon for philadelphia. showers continue on tuesday. 58 the high. the rain ends wednesday with sunshine. we'll get a nice warmup on wednesday. look at the end of the cents in the past two weeks to an average of $2.46 a gallon. the philly area, gas is higher at $2.66 a gallon. analysts say price increases could slow as the cost of crude oil comes down. meanwhile, if you didn't get your hands on nintendo's nes classic mini game console for christmas, you may have a last chance today. nintendo stopped making the device, but best buy says they'll be available at its stores and not on line starting this morning. they'll be first come, first serve, while limited supplies last with some stores doing a ticketing process before doors open. and on wall street, global markets appear to be breathing a sigh of relief today as the french presidential election went as expected on sunday. the main french stock index up about 4%. stock futures signaling a higher open. the dow will open sharply higher this morning. investors may turn their focus now to earnings season as well as nearly 200 companies in the s&p 500 will report results this week. stocks fell on
