we're watching an accident scene out in upper dublin on welsh road and butler pike. you'll probably be directed around the scene there. traffic and also watching out in vineland. injuries reported on the scene as well. this is northeast avenue and garland road. you can ski a slowdown on that system as you look in closely there. that's because they're diverting traffic around the scene for now. also watching the vine street expressway. looks like they finally opened up this ramp to broad street. at least the road after the ramp to broad street. traffic is moving through. i'll check in with the schuylkill expressway. and the ramp to the vine coming up to make sure that we have them all open as well. also able to get to the vine street expressway. i'll do that when i come back in ten. tracy, back to you. so, this morning is crunch time for post offices across our entire region. our postal service tells us today their busiest delivery day of the holiday season. >> nbc10's matt delucia is watching it out from the post office in deptford, gloucester county. matt. >> reporter: all of those people in line getting their items out, well, now they're being delivered. you see cases and bins full of mail. all of these busy workers getting ready in deptford. all of these items ready for their destination. all together, 30 million packages are expected to be delivered on this day through the u.s. postal service. i got sharon monahan here. she's the postmaster. you're up bright and early. what's going on behind us right now. we don't see this from the operation. >> what's happening today is i have my workers in here pretty early. they're sorting their parcels. we've had on average about 10,000 parcels a day coming through this office which equates to about 125 to 150 package it's per carrier. the volume up in this office is about 17%. >> reporter: you say it's pretty much records are being set? >> yes. absolutely. last year was an astronomical year for the postal office as far as moving packages through the system. this year, we're seeing an uptick again. i don't know what next year is going to bring. this year is incredible as far as the volume. >> reporter: how do you get the folks ready for a day like this? >> well, they've got to have a lot of coffee. >> reporter: that's a start. >> absolutely. they know their expectations. they know this time of the year, we have to step up a little bit. move a little quicker to get the volume moved out to the customers. >> reporter: sharon, thank you very much. a busy day ahead. this guy is listening to the backlog of untested rape kits. in philadelphia, more than 900 kits will be outsourced in the past year. that's helping to lower the city's backlog. in 2016, the city had reported nearly 1300 backlog kits. this morning, we're learning that tunisitunisia's anti-terro authorities have questioned the family of anis amri. authorities say amri had requested asylum in germany but was denied. they had been monitoring him for six months. police say his i.d. papers were found in the truck. president-elect donald trump is calling the attack. >> it's an attack on humanity, that's what it is. and it's got to be stopped. >> mr. trump defended his position on creating a muslim registry or ban on certain countries to the u.s. he made those comments from his resort in palm beach, florida. >> long gone. we've got bright sunshine this afternoon. the lehigh valley. clouds around. might see a snowflake first thing this morning. by 7:00, they're gone. by lunchtime, it's in the 40s in the lehigh valley. lots of sunshine for yeadelawar. up to 47 degrees at noon. in new jersey, clouds will be thinning out inland and at the shore. look at the shore temperatures near 50 degrees this afternoon. up to 45 degrees at new jersey. at noon time, interior new jersey, bright sunshine later this afternoon, 45 degrees. wet weather is on the way as we head into the weekend. looking at mild during the game. 123450 . in mexico, the death toll has risen to 33 following the explosion at that fireworks market. authorities say that number could climb even more because 12 people are still listed as missing. the explosions began tuesday average, leveling the market near mexico city. according to investigators, it's too early to identify a cause. this morning, though, questions remain about the safety measures of that fireworks market. one former worker said vendors violated safety rules and stored their fireworks too close to other stalls. we spoke to a manager in a fireworks north africa, italy, france and germany in world war ii. he also hemmed liberate a concentration camp. today, the temple football team is heading to washington to take on wake forest in the military bowl. this is video of when the team returned to campus after winning the first championship this month. leaving at noon. the game is next tuesday in annapolis. many veterans will get to see wake just loved it. three years later he's still putting on that costume every day in december. he delivers mail to moms and dads but also helps kids get their letters to santa. he said his bosses are okay with it because they see how much joy it brings the customers and community. every day, i enjoy my job so much, it makes me feel eve better. >> if you're lucky, he'll pose. >> oh, that's an awesome looking okay. seven minutes northbound from route 29 to the schuylkill expressway. from this minute into the schuylkill, it's well into the 60s. there's an accident reported in upper dublin and welsh road. 422 looks great also. on that eastbound side. from 29 to the schuylkill, an eight-minute trip. speeds in the 60s as well. we'll end over in vineland. there's a crash reported in northeast avenue and garland road. that's over in this general area right here. if you look closely at the map, we've been seeing slowdowns. that's because this intersection is closed. an accident investigation under way. you will be directed around the scene. we'll check in with more of our cameras when i come back. 5:18 on this thursday. some spots this morning, cold enough for snow. >> yeah, snow showers. bill. >> very light snow. if you're heading out now, tracking those light snow showers, they're not going to last long. the areas that do see a few snowflakes are not going to have any accumulation. we're breaking with the clouds. that's going to warm up into upper 40s and 50 degrees. clear this evening which means it sets us up for a cold night. it's above freezing in the lehigh valley and suburbs, 32 degrees. border line these temperatures for snow. in fact, with upper 30s now in center city. rittenhouse. society hill. all at 37 degrees. that's warmer and warm enough for a little bit of wintry mix. you can already see it starting to transition. we saw snow showers to start with in the reading area. we're still seeing very light snow. most of this not even reaching the ground. it's falling into very dry air. chester county, delaware county and philadelphia, that's where we're seeing more of a wintery mix. might be a sprinkle or  snowflake, a brief flurry. it's not going to be anything big here. it's all going to be moving rapidly. you see it's clearing out of lancaster. we get a good deal of sunshine this afternoon. improving conditions today. another round of wet weather will wait until the weekend for saturday. there it is, in the southwest. that's going to be chugging our way. and by sunday morning, we'll be clear. but on saturday morning, umbrellas will be going up. it's got a long way to go. we'll be dry during the day today. clouds start moving in early saturday morning. that's 3:00 in the morning. you can see it's cold enough once again for snow. as it moves into the warmer air, we're looking at rain saturday morning at 10:00 for allentown, reading and philadelphia. but none by christmas day. look at the temperatures for philadelphia. 44 in lansdale. 44 in chester. more and more sunshine this afternoon. any rain drops will be long gone for new jersey this afternoon. 48 in voorhees. and near 50 for the shore. and in delaware, too, for smyrna, 49 degrees. wilmington is going to hit 50 degrees this afternoon. we'll be in the upper 40s. there's that cold air. a little colder than this morning. the rain during the day on saturday, should be clear for christmas even and beginning of hanukkah and christmas day. sunshine and 50 degrees. clouds build on monday. the temperatures, middle 50s for monday. expect to see more showers, rain showers for tugs
