Reporter hi, rosemary. This is where Kathleen Kane will fight the perjury charges against her but a different battle looms on the horizon in harrisburg. State senators could vote on whether to start a process that could lead to the removal of the first democrat and female a. G. , ultimately a twothirds Senate Majority vote would be necessary to remove kane. She calls the majority of her work administrative. She says she anticipates being able to carry out 98 of her duties without the help of others. Since the temporary suspension of her law license, duties that require a license have been delegated to kanes deputies. A Senate Committee examining her ability to stay in office questioned those top questions, one lingering question, what happens when a judge might dismiss a case on the grounds that the office of the a. G. Lacks authority while kanes law license is suspended. The committee decided that scenario must be addressed by the pennsylvania supreme court. State senators also decided kane should appear before the full senate for a hearing. Kane released a statement criticizing the Senate Committee of calling their actions unconstitutional. She says she intends to vigorously defend the office of attorney general. Regarding the perjury charges kane is maintaining she is innocent. Well be following all developments in harrisburg. Police serve add search warrant on maria gutierrezs home on people street following an ongoing narcotics investigation. Detectives say the 29yearold mother of two daughters had at least 50 bundles of heroin plus two loaded guns and cash. Never seen any activity. I was very surprised. So close to home. Authorities have charged gutierrez with dealing heroin, shesing held in a Delaware County prison. Police in florida arrested a man wanted for a murder in a philadelphia store.
