Locust eastbound between broad and 15th, walnut westbound at broad and june in per streets, southbound at south penn square. Those and more keep popping up for right now you want to give yourself an extra 10, 15 minutes before you head out the door. As for 95, around gerard avenue, the majors okay. We have a southbound drive time about 14 minutes from wood haven road. That construction has cleared out of the way so toward the vine we have no problems, headed southbound right in here northbound lanes great. A group of families delivered a report on the situation to the department of Human Services in center city. They say children as young as two weeks old be held at the facility near reading, calling the Detention Center a prison and claim that the facility is violating its license and say that even a teenager was raped there. Labor violations where they pay women a dollar a day to clean. Weve also seen medical neglect of women and children. A spokesperson for the Detention Center there in berks county says the employee accused of the Sexual Assault is on administrative leave and the center is working with local police in their investigation. Two buildings are on fire. The fire started jesse gary found out from officials in the middle of chancellor street, spread to two buildings, and you can see they are trying to get water on both of the buildings there. Again, fire Officials Say it started in the middle of chancellor street and spread to do two buildings. One sun der construction. We dont know what was on fire that started this fire but when we got on the scene there was fire on the seventh floor of one of these buildings. Youre getting a good view. Talking to jesse gary he was being pushed back because firefighters needed to get more apparatus in to fight this fire. We spotted this on one of our sky cameras. You could see the thick smoke billowing into the air. You can see firefighters are getting water on it. Were seeing the flames largely on the lower floors of that building. Look there, right there just to the left of that fire apparatus, look at the bottom you see the flames out of the window there of one of those buildings. One of these was under construction. Woke up, put a hand to the window and felt warm and smoke started billowing in. Firefighters were able to get them out before they were injured and thats where you see firefighters going through the smaller skinnier building, floor by floor to make sure everybody is out. There was a restaurant under constructi construction. Thats where apparently the fire started but grew so large it burned buildings on both sides of chancellor. Thats why there was one real fire but two affected properties. Well have more coming up in the next few minutes. The trial begins today for a former Police Officer charged with murdering a man more than two years ago. Authorities say James Stewart was off duty when he shot david compton. Compton died several days later. Stewart pleaded not guilty earlier this year. New jersey is reporting its second west nile death of the year. We know the victim was a 57yearold woman from wall township. Health Officials Say she was admitted to the hospital last month but died wednesday. Two weeks ago a 65yearold man died from the virus. These are the first two west nile deaths in new jersey since 2013. Days later police found human organs and bodies stored improperly at this funeral home. The owner is charged with abuse of a corpse. Members of the Funeral Directors Association Want the sight do more to uncover businesses that are operating against the law. Not accusing them of not doing their job, simply saying the current Funeral Service law should be enforced and funeral establishments should be inspected. The group says consumers should ask to see all three licenses that are issued by the state, a spokesperson for the department of the state says that the laws havent changed since the late 1950s, she says the department can only inspect Funeral Homes once every year or two because of staff size. Its a building that has sat vacant on north broad street for 16 years now. Tomorrow begins a new era for the historic Devine Lorraine hotel. A developer plans to break ground to put apartments in the building. The hotel opened in 1894 as a place of luxury for the wealthy. It became the first racially integrated hotel in the city but closed in the late 90s after years of decay. It will be transformed into 109 apartments and four restaurant spaces including a lobby bar and neighbors are excited. A lot of beauty here, a lot of details that people dont notice.
