right. see you in ten. thank you. philadelphia councilman david oh is back with his family after a run-in with a robber. he was stabbed but had a successful surgery and is recovering. meantime, police are looking for the suspect in the case. nbc10's katy zachry has more. we're hearing from the councilman about the incident. what's he saying? >> reporter: now that councilman oh is back home recovering, police in southwest philadelphia are focused on finding his attacker who was last seen running away from the scene near 58th and thomas avenue. councilman oh talked to us about the attack on his doorstep yesterday after he was discharged from penn presbyterian. he eaven showed where he was stabbed and a cut on his arm that he got trying to defend himself from the attacker swinging the weapon at his face. he said the man who stabbed him outside his west philadelphia home wanted his keys and wallet. amazingly, councilman oh remained calm, trying to talk to the attacker through the whole ordeal. >> he kind of punched me, and i knew it was a weird punch. the way he punched me, i said, did you just stab me? he had. and i saw the weapon. >> reporter: here's the picture that councilman's staffers provided to us yesterday. this is his family with two of his four children in the hospital after he had made it out of surgery just fine at penn pre--y abo presbyterian hospital. police are asking the public -- especially people who live on the block of 58th and thom at avenue in west -- thomas avenue in west philadelphia, if they have private surveillance cameras that may have captured the attack. police are looking for video from that. reporting live in southwest philly, katy zachry, nbc10 news. >> thank you. certainly glad that councilman oh is recovering. here are some of the top stories we're following in the day ahead -- >> we begin in camden county with the final farewell for a helicopter pilot with ties to our nbc10 family. a visitation and funeral is scheduled today for michael murphy. he was training in inclement weather last week when his chopper crashed in new castle. murphy was a backup pilot for sky force 10. visitation and mass, christian burial, in atco begins at 9:00 this morning. in harrisburg, former penn state president graham spanier and two administrators will be sentenced in the jerry sandusky sex abuse case. he was convicted of child endangerment. former vice president shultz and gary curly pleaded guilty to the same charge. prosecutors say they covered up the child sex abuse by sandusky in 2001. the future of greek life at penn state could hinge on a family's emotional plea following a death of a pledge. the board of trustees says they'll consider a letter sent to them by the parents of timothy piazza at a special meaning today. the student died after -- special meeting today. the student died after falling at a frat party. 18 pledges are charged in the death. in a letter, his parents wrote, "our son died on your watch. we will never see him again because of the administration's failures to protect him and turning a blind eye to known problems. you now have an obligation to make sure this never happens again." in our county-by-county coverage, the borough of east greenboro is moving toward having its own police department. >> east greenville was covered by a police department but decided to form its own and partnership -- after its partnership expired. an interim police chief began yesterday. now, state police are handling most of the matters. if you live there, state police, while east greenville gets its department up and running. in bucks county, a school bus driver is being tested to see if he was under the influence while waiting in the bus line. police were called to the high school wednesday after employees suspected something was wrong. the middletown police chief says a breathalyzer test gave them probable cause to draw blood. those results should come back in a week or two. in camden county, police are asking for your help in finding a pair of movie theater bandits. investigators said they stole someone's wallet at the carmike theater in voorheis while the victim was watching the big screen. the bandits racked up more than $1,000 in charges at a nearby target store. in delaware county, police are investigating a pastor after they discovered illegal drugs at his church. monsignor gregory carlente recently quit his post in chadds fo ford. police are not saying what drugs were found. the pastor took medical leave prior to the resignation. it's 4:35. here. you can drive down or take the cape may lucifer -- lewis ferry. there's not open now. there's another way to get around here, and that's by bicycle. you see a lot of people on bicycles, a good way to get around and to get exercise and to explore this area, as well. there are bike trails throughout the area that you can check that go through rehoboth, lewis. we stopped by atlantic cycles here. the owner told me they are busy all day now from open to close. he says the bike trail's about 17 miles altogether, and that's the most popular rides in the area. you get to see history, remnants of world war ii, and scenic views, as well, over the ocean and delaware bay. a lot of people are grabbing the bikes. >> it's a lot of work. this time of year, we're trying to get ready for the big push. enjoy life, ride a bike. you'll have a much better time on a bike. it's quite a long hang on if you try it by -- a long hike if you try it by foot. >> reporter: indeed it is. if you prefer walking on the boardwalk, perhaps, you might find yourself in front of an amusement park here that's been around for generations. and i take a wild ride on the newest attraction come i see you schuylkill. this is continuing on the schuylkill expressway westbound. you see with the construction there's a slowdown. we're not seeing backups. watching construction on the vine street expressway westbound, eastbound, closed now between broad street and the schuylkill expressway. both directions there. the last few days they've actually been picking this up a little bit early. a little before the 5:00 mark. it's still closed, so take the local vine. you should be good by the time you get there. watch for extra police activity and construction crews out there. that's what we want to be careful of. watching 295 around the black horse pike, everything looks good especially through the work zone here. northbound toward trenton, here is southbound toward maybe going to the 42 freeway or
