This afternoon heavier rain will move in and this evening, a threat of thunderstorms with those storms will come heavier rainfall and a potential for damaging winds. The biggest threat will be late this afternoon and this evening. This morning, what we have is a few series of light, scattered showers, just enough to make for some dreary, chillyc condition this morning. Though it is above freezing, this is only rain for our area. To find freezing rain you have philadelphia, just a few light cheltenham, south jersey, salem and Cumberland County seeing the rain. Eastern salem and Cumberland County getting light showers. This is where the line of big storms is taking shape this morning. It wont be here until late this afternoon and this evening. Your hour by hour forecast is calling forum for umbrella weather. The rain continues into the afternoon. The temperatures will be warming up today, in fact, we may make it into the 60s before the storms come through. Were starting things off on the roosevelt boulevard around 9th street. Its actually even difficult to seat roadways right here. Our camera seems to be covered in rain water here. As you can see, the roadways are slippery and damp there as well. So route 1 around 9th street, no problems either direction, if youre headed southbound on the boulevard to get to the schuylkill expressway, youll be just fine this morning. Heres route 73 out in winslow township, new jersey, around 561. Obviously no cars around this area, lightly traveled roadway at this time, of course. You can still see we are seeing wet roads. Mass transit, watch out for septas new spring schedule. Otherwise, no reported delays for septa, amtrak, new Jersey Transit or patco. Now to decision 2016. Meantime, the cdc is investigating 14 new cases of zika that may have been spread through sexual contact. The infections involve women who have not travelled to area where there was a zika outbreak. Their only risk factor with having sex with a man who had travelled abroad. Two of the infected women are pregnant. The mosquitoborne virus is expected of having babies to be born with abnormally small head birth defects. An oil tanker crew rescued from pirates. Maximus sailed into the port of lagos on monday. Nigerian authorities said the navy recaptured the ship during a night time rescue. One pirate was killed, two other crew members escaped in a pirate vessel and are still missing.
