morning to you. i'm erin coleman. the eagles will hold their regular media briefing in one hour at the novacare complex. we hope to learn what's wrong with carson wentz' knee and the game plan for next sunday's contest against the giants. nbc 10's pamela osborne talked to a doctor about acl injuries. >> reporter: well, fans have been wondering and in a lot of cases, worrying about that injury that carson wentz sustained in last night's game against the rams. this was wentz arriving back to philly early this morning. you can see he was limping. there's been a lot of speculation about what could be wrong. and right now, we're about an hour away from perhaps getting a concrete answer on whether or not wentz tore his acl. wentz was hurt during this play late in the third quarter. based on the information that's been made available so far, there could be a couple of things wrong. best-case scenario, wentz suffered a sprain to his left knee. in that case, experts say he would need time off the field to rest and he would also have to do physical therapy. worst-case scenario that carson wentz tore his acl. only an mri can confirm that. we know he was scheduled to get one once he arrives back here in philly. we wanted to give you a little bit more perspective here, so we talked to dr. michael yang at mercy hospital. he is not wentz' doctor, but as a knee specialist, he knows a lot about these types of injuries and he said the only treatment for a torn acl is surgery. >> the acl is one of your main stabilizing ligaments in your knee. and essentially what it is it prevents your shinbone or your lower leg from popping forward out of your knee. you can live without an acl, but for elite-level athletes, you really want the acl for pivoting and quick movements. so usually that's surgery and recovery time is usually about six to eight months. >> reporter: so what we're talking about could be a season-ending injury. we expect to learn much more when the coach addresses the media at noon. we'll be there and update you as soon as we get more information. reporting outside the linc, i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. >> now, with wentz out, nick foe foles took over as and will always be our leader. we love hum and we're going to play for him. that's all we can do. >> obviously, he's been such a special player for us and a big reason why we just clinched the division. >> it's emotional, a guy you work with every day, you think the world of. i know i said earlier, i think he's an mvp. it's not easy, but i think this team will step up and rally no matter what. >> no matter who we put out there, i feel like this team has got something special in him and we'll keep battling and a lot of good players on the team and we'll overcome injuries all the time and wehle s'll see what ha. >> here's what carson wentz tweeted, nfl east champs, so proud of the resiliency of this team, such a special group of men and i greatly appreciate all the prayers. i know this morning after the blast. nbc's andrew sief has more from new york city. >> reporter: we are outside of the port authority bus terminal in manhattan, about a block west of times square, and this explosion. the suspect himself suffered serious burns in that explosion. the only other known injuries at this time considered minor, described by the fire commissioner as a ringing in the ears. some of those folks took themselves to the hospital to get checked out after this. mayor bill de blasio and governor andrew cuomo both spoke about the most effective way for new yorkers to defeat this kind snow showers if you were up early this morning, and nbc 10 crew in south philadelphia shot video of the flakes falling early today, but now the sun is shining, temperatures climbing as well this morning. here's a live look at the kimmel center, where some of that snow on the ground should start to melt away. i don't see it too much there. nbc 10's first alert meteorologist krystal klei here is here with your most accurate forecast. krystal, cold right now, but you have issued a first alert ahead for even colder weather that's coming. >> that's exactly right. let's do a little comparison here for everyone at home. the temperatures now versus what we will be seeing. you look at these numbers and it does appear, it's fairly cold outside. 41 degrees in philadelphia and 36 in pottstown. 37 in allentown and millville at 42. many of these numbers won't rise much more through the afternoon. we will stay right around those low 40s, which is chilly, but we have issued a first alert for dangerous cold. not just chilly conditions, but to the point where being outdoors is not a good idea. this is for the entire area tomorrow night through wednesday night. so wednesday, as a whole, looking at the pinnacle to have the dangerous cold. this is what we're expecting. feels-like temperatures between zero and ten degrees the morning on wednesday. and in the afternoon, feeling like 10 to 20 degrees at best. so this is the point where we suggest that staying inside as much as possible, the best option. because those numbers are going to feel so cold. in fact, on top of the fact that we will have bitterly cold air in place, we'll also have strong winds, which will make those feels-like temperatures so tough. let's take a look at radar and satellite. we've got a pretty good picture right now. it's a mix of sun and clouds out there. we'll continue with that mix of clouds and sun as we go through the rest of the day. and those clouds will increase a bit overnight with tomorrow a chance of a little precipitation moving through. as for the conditions later on in the day, like we mentioned, staying right in those low 40s. feeling a little colder thanks to a light wind. we'll get more detail on that chance of precip tomorrow and the bitter cold, coming up. another step today until philadelphia's quest to land amazon's second headquarters and it could involve you. a city council committee will hear testimony on a new resolution that would allow public hearings on the bid. philadelphia has been promoting itself ever since the announcement that amazon wanted to build a second headquarters and employ 50,000 people. the resolution would let neighbors chime in on the bid and voice their opinion. amazon is expected to make its choice next year. time is now 11:10. and time for a check on the roads with nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter, jessica boyington. jess, what are you seeing out there? >> yeah, so we're watching some construction to start, right on 95. thisaping e girard point bridge on the northbound side. they have the left lane blocked and a second ago, they had all traffic politic bloblocked for o there's a little bit of a residual delay there. there's a crash in cheltenham on cottman avenue and hassbrook avenue. thereto crash blocking the ramp on the p.a. turnpike jus north of willow grove sp. so no delays right now. speeds are still up there, too. and i'll end with the bridges. now we're on standby for an opening of the tacony-palmyra, that's scheduled for 8:25. so we have a couple of minutes before we'll see that. take the betsey ross bridge and watch for some construction over the ben franklin westbound, so traffic moving into philadelphia, two lanes are closed. erin? this morning, we are hearing from the accusers. >> just looking me over, like i was just a piece of meat. you know, like i was -- >> three women who accused president trump of sexual misconduct are opening up about their experiences. what the white house is saying about the allegations. plus, down to the wire. voters prepare to head to the poll s in alabama in a highly controversial senate race. and take a look at the map. it's been cold the last few days, but we're talking a cold blast that makes the last few days look kind of warm in comparison. we'll look at how low those numbers go. we've issued a first alert. the details are coming up. this morning ones the megyn kelly show on nbc, three women who accused president donald trump of sexual harassment and assault, jessica leeds described an incident on a plane in the 1970s where she said donald trump kissed and groped her against her will. rachel crook says she was assaulted by trump when she worked at trump towers. and samantha hol holvy said tha donald trump competed inappropriately when she competed as north carolina. she said he came into the dressing room where the women were changing. >> he comes in like he owns the place and like he owns you. and is just looking at us, eyeing us up and down and then walked into the dressing room, where we have two big security guards to make sure nobody but the girls and our female chaperones can get into the dressing room and he just walks right in. >> the white house released a statement during megyn kelly's show saying, quote, these false claims totally disputed in most cases by eyewitness accounts were addressed at length during last area's campaign and the american people voiced their judgment by delivering a decisive victory. the timing and absurdity of these false claims speaks vums on the publicity tour that has begun only further confirms the political motives behind them. end quote. u.n. ambassador nikki haley says the women who have accused the president and anyone else in power deserved to be heard and properly addressed. >> i think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up. i know that he was elected, but, you know, women should also feel comfortable coming forward, and we should all be willing to listen to them. >> the white house has insisted the 12 women who have accused president trump were lying. voters in alabama go to the polls tomorrow to pick a new u.s. senator in a race getting a lot of attention because of the sexual misconduct allegations against the republican candidate. polls show a tight race between republican roy moore and democrat doug jones. nbc's gabe gutierrez reports on the final push by both candidates. >> this morning, a race to the finish, the wild alabama special election is down to the wire. >> he is unfit for public service at the senate level in this nation. >> in her first broadcast interview since revealing to "the washington post" she and senate candidate roy moore dated when she was a teenager, debby wesson gibson tells nbc news exclusively she thinks president trump's recent endorsement is misguided. >> there is a man who is willing to sell his soul for political gain. >> gibson says she met moore when she spoke at her high school in 1981, when she was 17, which is over the age of consent in alabama. she says the then 43-year-old moore dated her for 2 1/2 months, but in hindsight -- >> it's not appropriate, it's just creeper. and i did not have that sense at the time. >> she does not allege that he assaulted her and said any kissing between the two was consensu consensual. but she said moore lied when he said this. >> specifically, i do not know any of these women. >> reporter: she claims this is his signature in her memory book and that he absolutely knows her. >> i would encourage people, however, to ask themselves, do you want a man who lies now? >> reporter: moore's campaign later clarified that he meant he didn't know the women who accused him of sexual assault, including then 14-year-old leigh corfman and 16-year-old beverly young nelson. >> i did not date underage women. i did not, uh, molest anyone. >> reporter: today, president trump is stepping up his support of the former judge with this robo call. >> hi, this is president donald trump and i need alabama to go vote for roy moore! it is so important. >> reporter: but even members of his own party are breaking ranks. >> i didn't vote for roy moore. i wouldn't vote for roy moore. i think the republican party can do better. >> reporter: moore's opponent, democrat doug jones, making a last-minute push for the critical african-american vote, campaigning with new jersey senator, cory booker. >> there's only one candidate in this race, who has the opportunity of reaching across the aisle and trying to be effective. that is not roy moore. >> announcer: now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> all right. switching gears now. meteorologist krystal klei, let's talk about those temperatures. because there is going to be a big swing in the numbers over the next 48 hours. here's what it feels like outside currently. 39 degrees in chestnut hill and 41 at graduate hospital. feeling like 33 reporting at the airport and 40 in parkwood. why do we see a range? well, it depends on what the winds are reporting at each of these stations. you have a little higher wind, it's going to make it feel notably cooler, because the windchill or the feels-like temperature is calculated based off of the actual temperature and the winds outside. 36 is what it feels like in washington township, in our new jersey neighborhoods. turnersville, 35. mt. laurel, the same. audobon at 42 and upper 30s for areas like hope well township down to florence. on radar and satellite, nice, tight picture over us. we've got this mix of clouds and clearing. but that was not always the case. early this morning, we did have a few light snow showers that passed from the northwest to the southeast. no accumulation with this action, but it is leading to tomorrow, where we will see the potential for accumulation in our northern-most zones. let's talk today. high temperatures, well, pretty much where our highs are going to hit for the rest of the day, as we speak. low 40s for the forecast highs. 43 in philadelphia. 40 in the peninsula suburbs and 44 at the jersey shore. parts of the lehigh valley may not make it to the 40s today, with a mix of clouds and sun, but staying dry otherwise as we go through the rest of today. let's go through the hour-my-hour model. i'm starting with tonight. the rest of today, no chance of rain, snow, mix, anything. but tonight, clouds will start to increase ahead of tomorrow morning, when a system will pass to our north. this clipper system, as they're called, is going to literally clip us. so we are going to see a chance of snow showers mixing in throughout the lehigh valley and berks county. a chance of rain/snow mix, i think it's possible over the suburbs and down to the i-95 corridor. and more so a chance of rain farther south. but everything will turn to rain the later we go into the day, because temperatures are going to be above average. so watch as we go through 10:30 a.m. now you see it's primarily rain in our region, but still snow over the poconos. and a second shot into the afternoon hours, as well, of a snow-to-rain mix. but again, it will be rain for areas farther south, because temperatures at 2:30 in the afternoon will be in the 40s. not going to support the snow. that's out of here. it's not a big system, and by 7:00 at night, we are starting to clear out. still, like i mentioned, there's a little snow potential, as we run through just one particular model here. shows maybe a dusting of snow through parts of the lehigh valley, by the time this moves out. and close to 1 to 2 inches of snow possible over mt. pocono. so this is not a big producer, but it is something to watch. what's more important and why we issued a first alert for tuesday night through wednesday night, these feels-like temperatures. once that system is out of here, a huge area of arctic air is going to dip in. and that is going to really impact our temperatures as winds crank up, gusts, 35 to 45 miles per hour. take a look at the numbers here. tuesday night, feeling like teens already. overnight into wednesday morning, check this out. feeling like single digits across the entire map. i wouldn't be surprised if in the lehigh valley, we even see a few spots that are near zero for the feels-like temp. we'll talk more about this coming up in the next half hour. alarming new details about something inside your home. the dead dangers of window blinds and why the biggest threat is something you can't see. lawmakeri ialarming statist number of children accidentally hurt by something in almost every home in america, window blinds. a new study finds that nearly 17,000 children have been injured by window blinds or shades since 1990. the biggest threat is the cord. hidden inner cords can easily strangle children. since 1990, cords have killed 271 kids. the window covering manufacturer's association wants a safety standard in place by the end of next year. prayers for carson. that's the sentiment shared by a lot of eagles fans this morning. next, we are waiting for official word to have the condition to have quarterback carson wentz after this injury during yesterday's win in l.a. a live update, straight ahead. and an attempted terror attack in new york city sends people running for safety. what we're learning about an explosion near the port authority bus terminal. impressive, but not invincible. we could soon learn more about how badly eagles quarterback carson wentz was injured during yesterday's game in l.a.. >> when he got into the end zone -- >> so far, there's been a lot of speculation as to his knee injury during the third quarter. nbc 10's cydney long is live at the novacare complex in south philly with more on wentz' injury. cyd? >> reporter: despite waking up with such an awesome win in last last night, you can imagine eagles fans are waiting, they are wondering, and they are of course worried about carson wentz. is this, in fact, a torn acl? will it require surgery and will it mean that the eagles' star quarterback is out for the remainder of the season? we should get those answers in just about a half an hour. this is video of the star quarterback arriving back in philly early this morning. you can see that wentz was limping, putting little pressure on his left leg. right now, we're less than a half hour away from getting a solid answer on whether or not wentz tore his acl. he got hurt during this play in the third quarter and based on the information that's been made available so far, there could be a couple of things wrong. the best-case scenario, wentz suffered a sprain to his knee and experts say if that's all that it is, he would need time off the field to rest and he would also be required to do physical therapy. the worst-case scenario is that carson wentz tore his acl and only an mri can confirm that. he is scheduled to have that mri at some point today. we wanted to give you a little more perspective here, so we talked to dr. michael yang at mercy hospital. he is not wentz' doctor, but as a knee specialist, he knows a lot about these types of injuries and he says the only treatment for a torn acl is surgery. >> generally, you can live without an acl, but for elite-level athletes, you really want the acl for pivoting and quick movement. so that's surgery and usually recovery time is about three to six months. usually we can get them pretty close to 100%. obviously, it is still surgery. and we like to think that they can fully recover. >> reporter: now, the acl is one of your main stabilizing ligaments in your knee. it does prevent the shinbone or the leg from popping out of the lower part of your knee, according to medical experts. clearly, what we could be talking about is a season-ending injury for wentz. we are expecting to hear much more when coach peterson addresses the media that is coming up at noon today. nbc 10 will carry his comments live both on the air and online and we will certainly update any brand-new information just as soon as we learn it. we're leiv ive at the bond even stronger. here's what wentz tweeted out. nfc east champs. so proud of the resiliency of this team. such a special group of men. and i greatly appreciate all the prayers. i know my god is a passageway of the subway between 7th and 8th avenues on 42nd street. police say the suspect meant to set off the bomb, but it's unclear if it exploded earlier. 27-year-old akayed ullah is in custody. he has burns and cuts on his stomach and his hands. he had attached the device to his vest with velcro and zip ties. he was inspired by isis, but did not have direct contact with the group. witnesses say the noise from the blast was terrifying. >> boom. boom! and then i just ran upstairs. >> reporter: what's the first thing you did? you ran up the stairs? >> you hear a boom, you try to think, okay, it's a noise, whatever. that's when you see the smoke and that's when everybody just ran. >> the subway system is pack open at this hour, but there is heightened security around the city after the attack. happening now, philadelphia's deputy police commissioner is talking about how prepared the city is for a similar-type pipe bomb attack. you're looking live as commissioner wilson briefs valley spca is hosting a megaadoption event where more than a thousand s&l s animals will be looking for good homes. linda and brandy have brought two dogs up for adoption. thanks for being here. >> thanks for having us. >> tell us about stitch and noel. >> stitch and noel came in on saturday on a flight of 130 small dogs from phoenix, arizona. in phoenix, they have more small dogs than they have more small dog adopters, and here, we don't have many small dogs in our shelters. it was a great life-saving match. and these little ones will be up for adoption at the mega deposition event on saturday. >> what families would they work well with? >> these two are really terrific dogs. either one would be great family dogs. they did not come in bonded together and get along really well together. they should do well with other dogs, with terrific. they're really terrific all-around dogs. stitch is 2 years and noel is 1-year-old. >> there are a lot of pets up for adoption. is this the time of year when you guys get a lot of o animals into the shelter? >> we tend to have a lot of animals this time of year from the summer, which is really our busiest time. so it's a good time to get more animals placed into females. people are also off for the holidays, so it's nice time to integrate a new pet into your family. >> so is a pet for the holidays, is that a good idea? >> it is. you really have to plan ahead and make sure everyone is onboard to have a pet. and bring everyone to the event, to meet the animals. we also recommend people bring their dogs. so we have an area where we can keep people's family pets, so they can meet their new family members. and when it comes to the holidays, you want to make sure these new animals have a quiet place to adjust. >> so not springing it on somebody, but planning it out. >> absolutely. >> make sugar they're the right fit. >> absolutely. >> thanks to uh you both for be here and of course to stitch and noel. hope they get great right. let's talk about conditions outside now compared to where they'll be over the next 48 hours. because we have a lot of changes that are going to move through this forecast. starting with our radar and satellite view, currently, it's a mix of just some clouds and sun out there. it's actually pretty outside. and the sunshine is helping to melt off any of the lingering snow that didn't melt yesterday. but early this morning, we did have a few of those light snow showers move across the area. nothing really bringing accumulation. it was mostly in the early, early a.m. hours. but this is a change from just, say, ten hours ago. let's look at the hour-by-hour model. we're starting this evening and it's just that mix of clearing clouds. but there's going to be a change overnight. a system that's called a clipper is going to move to the north of us. and it's literally going to clip us, so we are going to see some impact, but not a major impact to our neck of the woods. about 7:00 a.m. or so, we start to see snow showers moving right along the lehigh valley, berks county, and up north into the poconos pe poconos. everywhere south of that line i think will have a better chance of a little rain/snow mix to begin, all the way down to about the i-95 corridor. i say this, because i am forecasting a low of 42 degrees in philadelphia overnight, so there's a chance you could see a few flakes during the early morning hours, if you have the drive time of 7:00 a.m. or so, you may see a few flakes. but this is going to turn over by 10:30 a.m. to pretty much all rain, because temperatures are going to start to climb above freezing. and notice, this isn't a ton. this is kind of some scattered rain and farther north snow showers that are in the forecast. and there's a second round that moves through in the afternoon. this little line extending all the way down to new jersey and delaware. so a few spot rain showers in the afternoon are possible, but this will be rain, because at this point, on tuesday, temperatures will be in the 40s. so no chance of any icing concerns. once it moves out, not really much to write for, other than over the poconos, where a couple of inches of snow in total accumulation are possible by the time this has passed. that's not really the big story. that's kind of the hiccoup before the big story. it's pretty easy to see what it is. 43 this afternoon. 46 tomorrow afternoon. 30 degrees, only, for the high temperature on wednesday. big, big, big cooldown. we're going to have a blast of arctic air drop from the north. and on top of that, high winds that will make it feel more like between 10 and 20 degrees in the afternoon. feels-like temperatures between 10 and 20. this is why we've issued a first alert for your tuesday night on through wednesday. you can see why we start with tuesday night. 19 degrees to start on wednesday morning in the pennsylvania suburbs, but because of a strong wind, it will feel like single digits out there. that temperature, 29 in the afternoon on wednesday. in the lehigh valley today, 39, but wednesday, 29 degrees, as well. we're looking at just a few showers possible over new jersey tomorrow, with a temperature of 46 degrees, and down to still below freezing at 31 wednesday. you can see 30s along the jersey shore, as well, but slightly above freezing, and we may see some spots in southern delaware, also above freezing. nonetheless, very cold because of the wind. the whole area is under a first alert for this dangerous cold that we are expecting. so i want to run you through the numbers here, to show you what i was talking about. this is 8:00 tuesday night. so this would be about the time our first alert begins. and already, we're seeing the numbers feel like they're around 10 to 15 degrees. this is cold enough, it's dangerous to be outdoors for a period of time. we're suggesting if you can, avoid being outdoors throughout wednesday. 7:30 a.m., lack at this future model. this is one computer model's data run. but it's going with single-digit feels-like temperatures. i put it through a calculator based on the winds we're expecting and temperatures we're expecting and i think these are fair values to show off. single digits across the board. and only feeling like teens in the afternoon. so lets talk about some of the safety precautions you can take with this kind of cold. pets have to be indoors this time of year. just a must. on top of that, avoiding outdoors, as i mentioned. don't be outside. and if you think there's a chance you'll be outdoors briefly, dress in layers, layers, layers, gloves, boots, hats, the whole deals to be outdoors. if you think your pipes might burst, wrap them up. be cautious with space heaters. keep it away from drapes and things like that. and prep the car, at least a half tank full of gas, things like a blanket in the car is a good idea as a safety precaution. these are things you can do beforehand to make sure you're safe for this first alert. we'll talk about your ten-day on 10, coming up after the break. all right. you all know what a roubiks coupe looks like, right? a small cube with lots of colors. take a look at this giant rubik's cube. it's a functioning building and the brainchild of winemaker, chester osborn. it is five stories high. the cube made of steel and concrete and is enclosed in glass. it features panoramic views, a restaurant, and wall-to-wall artwork. >> hopefully, they see it as a game and a bit of fun. i know two people liken me to willy wonka or the mad hatter or something or whatever, but it's really just another place to take people to do challenging and fun. >> the cube took 13 years to build. it opens to visitors on thursday. i could never do a rubik's cube. >> oh, my gosh, they take forever to do. >> they sure do. our meteorologist krystal klei here with one more check of your afternoon forecast. cold and getting colder. >> that's right. 43 today. tomorrow, we've gotomorrow, we' a little rain/snow mix in the morning and a big cooldown, only 30s for temperatures. wednesday, we're under a first alert because of piit. >> all right, be sure
