sixth or seventh grade. in new jersey, their required for sixth grade, and in pennsylvania, for seventh grade. they need to have t-dap and meningitis. the t-dap is tetanus, and whooping cough. and tetanus is an illness that can cause inflammation of the brain and spinal cord. it's very important for students to be vaccinated against these diseases. actually, already this year, there was a 21-year-old young camp counselor in michigan who lost her life due to meningitis. and this could be prevented with the use of the vaccines. >> we've seen a lot of that on college campuses, recently. let's talk about some illnesses you tend to see early in the school year in september. tell us what some of those could be. >> two of the main ones are strep throat and conjunctivitis or pink eye. strep throat, if they have a sore throat. conjunctivitis, you'll see itchy, watery eyes, irritation of the eyes, and in the bacterial form, you'll see some discharge coming out of the eye, as well. >> probably a good time, back to school, september, for parents probably to talk to their kids about hygiene, as well, right? >> absolutely. so hand washing is the number one most important thing. teaching your kids or reinforcing to your kids that proper washing with soapy water, hot water, is very important. and for the kids, like, you know, they're sharing drinks out on the field, it's not a good idea, that's a good way to share germs. and, you know, a lot of these things are preventible, just by washing your hands, have been if they're sneezing, sleeve into their sneeze, or a tissue where they can throw it away. >> as opposed to into their hands. >> i always prefer washing hands as opposed to the hand sanitizers, but if you have to, those are good to put back-to-school supplies, have a little bottle of it or wipes they can have anywhere backpack and remind them to constantly keep their hands clean, right? >> right. if they don't have access to a sink, to be able to wash their hands with soap and water, using hand sanitizer is absolutely the next best thing. >> all of this is really, really good information for us to have. holly clark from minute clinic, we thank you so much for being with us this morning. >> thanks for having me. well, it felt like fall this morning and it's looking like fall out there right now with those crisp, blue skies. the temperature still in the low to mid-70s, despite all that sunshine all day. 73 degrees, in the lehigh valley right now. and we're seeing those temperatures climb up to around, around 80 degrees in some areas. already 82 at marshalton in delaware, wilmington, 75. glasgow, 79. odessa, already 80. we've got a little bit of wind off the water, so rehoboth beach is 74. lewis, 76 degrees. the wind not all that strong, today. so there is a bit of a sea breeze. nothing on the radar satellite. we really have to go pretty far west to see any kind of showers, and you'll have to wait a while to see any rain in this area. these are the rain probabilities as we go all the way through the weekend, okay? where you don't see any of these greens, that means the chance is about zero. so we've got about a zero chance through sunday. dover, extremely low. atlantic city, zero chance through friday. reading, very, very low chances. so, yeah, it's not going to rain for a while. the comfort, well, that continues for another couple of days. 89 on sunday with a high humidity, 83 yesterday. 82 today. then 85 tomorrow. but with low humidity continuing. thursday, up near 90 degrees. and that will be the beginning, because friday is going to be even hotter and much more humid. now, as we look at the temperature and the feels-like temperature out here. you can see, if anything, it's less, so it's 84 degrees for the high temperature, 83 for the highest feels-like temperature in newtown square. and in allentown, 85, 85, easton, feeling right about the same. and that's true for most places, except that some of the shore points where the humidity will be getting up a little bit. fiona has pretty much fallen apart in the middle of the atlantic. that next one out to the west, that is going to be the one that we're watching. these are what we call the spaghetti models, different computer models from run all parts of the area. and you can see a general trend toward the bahamas, and eventually in the general direction of florida. florida has not been hit by a hurricane since 2005. so this would be something we haven't seen in a long time. but there are many, many days to watch for that. so thursday's up near 90. friday is the real steamy day. but saturday, we start to get less humid, again. temperatures, much more comfortable at the shore throughout that period. and we'll be right back. the eagles
