continue to celebrate wawa welcome america. it's america's biggest and best birthday party and it's all happening right here in philadelphia. nbc 10 has been giving you a front row seat to all of the festivities throughout the week. here's a live look right now at the ben franklin parkway, the site of monday's july 4th concert. and we're starting the parkway party early this year. you have to keep this in mind, 5:00.ç 5:00, the concert begins. families can celebrate today with free admission to the national constitution center and wawa hoagie day. nbc 10's tim furlong at independence hall where thousands of hoagies will be served up about an hour from now, tim? >> reporter: 18,000 hoagies, vai. i was down in the basement where they're making them. this is the final group of hoagies, right here. this right here, these are the final boxes that will be loaded up. so you have to go down to independence hall in big tents down there, and each one of these boxes have like five hoagies in there. the next 18,000 are for you to eat down there for free if you come down to independence hall. this has really become one of the most popular events. i want to show you video inside when they were making the hoagies a short while ago. it was madness down there. they have like a dj down there. there's music. it was sort of wild. chef robert irvine was here from the food network. works with the uso. he has a special uso hoagie he's made. this is legit. this is the real deal. this is a big deal. there are a lot of hoagies. they want to feed people and help the troops and welcome people to our great city here on the fourth of july as we get to the holiday itself. haas the last box right there. watch, that one goes in. come back here. they're going to close the door now. all right, let's app. nbc 10 is the official media sponsor of the festival. and the concert by the philly pops scheduled to happen saturday in wildwood has been canceled. we're told it's due to low ticket sales. the philly pop show is supposed to be part of the celebrate america weekend at wildwood. the organizer, boardwalk ç entertainment, tells us only 85 tickets were sold, so they cancelled the concert. the rest of the weekend's events will go on as planned in wildwood. >> unfortunately, we did have to cancel the philly pops concert on saturday, just given with the low ticket sales and the feedback from the community, that they would like a more local talent. they would like a free event. and they just want to hang out and have a nice barbecue on july 4th. so, you know, we, unfortunately, made the last-minute change. >> the philly pops dressed the rest of their events are still on. that includes the pops on independence concert sunday night. and the independence day parade on monday and pops on the parkway monday night. >> a picture-perfect summer day to close out the month of june. and it's going to be a great night of baseball, as well. check out folks on the field there, at frawley stadium. there's a live picture from wilmington, of the wilmington blue rocks, where the team has the game tonight. first pitch is at 6:35. nbc 10 first alert meteorologist sheena parveen is here with our forecast. hi, sheena. >> hey, vai. it's going to be beautiful today. if you liked yesterday, you're really going to like today. a little bit warmer through the afternoon, too. but the humidity is at a comfortable level. it's not very muggy outside. also don't forget, with our new neighborhood weather, your seven-day forecast is always at the bottom of the screen for you. temperatures right now are warming up quickly. it's already 81 degrees in philadelphia. much of our pennsylvania subu suburbs, as well as our new jersey neighborhoods coming in at 80 degrees. even through the lehigh valley and delaware. so everyone is warming up nicely. through the afternoon, expect mid- to upper 80s. high temperatures staying sunny, with temperatures in some cases could be close to 90 degrees for some spots. delaware right around 87 degrees this afternoon. so a beautiful, sunny day today. but what we're watching is some rain back off to our west. some of that will be moving as we go into tomorrow. so we have the chance for thunderstorms in our friday forecast. so if you're starting our fourth of july weekend early, we're talking about thunderstorms around from possibly the morning hours through the afternoon and evening. but coming up, i'll show you the timing of that, and of course your detailed look at your fourth of july weekend forecast, no matter where you're heading. that's straight ahead. >> see you later, sheena. happening today, history could be made for drivers in new jersey. the state is close to adopting a 23 per cent tax hike. nbc's katy zachary breaks it xá/@mf involved. >> reporter: there are some gradual savings built into this plan, but that's not what most of the drivers we've spoken to this morning are focused on. their biggest concern is paying a few dollars more each time they fill up. governor chris christie is the bill's biggest cheerleader. h he successfully persuaded the state assembly to pass it earlier this week. the proposed 23 cents per gallon tax would help the state's struggling transportation trust fund, to repair roads and bridges. it would also gradually lower the state's sales tax to 6%, which hasn't been done in decades. if you have a 20-gallon tank, which most large suvs have, you'll pay more than $4 extra, each time you fill up. >> people that work ear, like i do, like everybody coming from philly, just to jersey or delaware to get their gas, we're going to lose that. >> there has been some resistance from senate democrats. some top democrats say they fear scaling back the state's sales tax would leave a gaping hole in the state's general fund of about $1.2 billion, which they say would directly affect tension and obligations. katy zachary, nbc 10 news. and new information. three of five casinos where workers were threatening to strike this holiday weekend have reached a deal. local 54 of the unite here union said just a few hours ago that it has a new deal with three casinos. bhalla's, cesar's, and harrahs. talks remain underway with the tropicana and the trump taj mahal. the last casino strike in atlantic city was back in 2004. workers at two casinos could still strike tomorrow if a deal is not reached. the union wants a return of concessions they gave to casinos in past contracts when the finances were shakier. the casinos say they want a deal that's fair to both sides. and this morning, the family of a 13-year-old killed yesterday wants to know where he and his friends got the gun that they were playing with. police are calling it an accidental shooting. they say a group of teenagers was playing with a gun when it went off and hit the 13-year-old in the head. they did find the gun nearby. neighbors were there when the gun went off and watched as the teen's father rushed over to see what happened. >> i ran back there and i seen them back there. and i went to go get his dad. his dad tried to pick him up. it was gory. >> this child didn't even get a chance to realize his dreams. >> police tell us the person who wasç holding the gun when it wt off was 17. police haven't arrested or charged anyone. we have an update on the investigation into the stabbing of a camden cab driver that we first told you about yesterday morning. police are still searching for the suspect seen here, climbing out of juan fortuna's cab. police say the cabbie had just crashed into a parked van in order to get attention as he was being stabbed several times in the shoulder. they say fortuna had refused to take the suspect to a remote area of north camden, and this is video of fortuna in his hospital bed, taken yesterday afternoon. doctors expect him to make a full recovery. today a man could learn his fate for kidnapping a woman off a philadelphia street. it's a case that made national headlines when it happened. cameras caught the 2014 abduction on video. you see delvin barnes dragging a woman as she tries to fight him off. days later, police found him and the victim in maryland. barnes pleaded guilty. he is scheduled to be sentenced today and could get up to 35 years in prison. time now for a check on the roads with nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter, jessica boyington. where's your focus? >> we're starting off in center city on the vine street expressway. it's actually where we're seeing some of the most delays right now. and headed westbound and eastbound pretty much looks the same, but typically we see more of a delay in volume headed towards the schuylkill expressway. as westbound lanes right here or 30th street station. you can see a little bit of delays there. we had an earlier accident on 242 that was around trooper road. we were seeing big delays headed eastbound, but just cleared about the last 20 minutes or so. now we're back down to normal. nine minutes here eastbound from 29 to the schuylkill expressway. we're also watching some construction on kelly drive, eastbound, right around falls bridge. that's reduced to one lane. and right now, backed up to lincoln drive. so you'll see some delays there, but you'll get through with the one lane. maybe if you're headed down the shore, the 42 freeway, around the atlantic city expressway. here is the 42 expressway headed southbound approaching the expressway. no problems heading down the shore. if you're in or out of philadelphia, you may see some construction over the bridge, as we have the right lane closed, headed westbound over the wall. and two lanes closed headed westbound into philly over the bend. you'll see some delays there, vai. >> all right, thank you, jessica. you'll soon start seeing a colorful reminder of the upcoming democratic national convention in philadelphia. crews will begin installing these donkeys around town in about 20 minutes. the 57 fiberglass creations represent the symbol of the democratic party. you'll see them at different philadelphia locations and landmarks. the donkeys aren'tç the only signs pointing to the dnc. nbc 10 was in center city yesterday, as crews put up the street banners. it's all part of a comprehensive welcome campaign by the dnc host committee. and up next, we're following new developments in the aftermath of britain's vote to leave the european union. how the race to become that nation's next prime minister has taken a dramatic turn. sheena? >> a nice day today, but tomorrow we have some thunderstorms in the forecast, if you're starting your fourth of july weekend early. i'll show you the timing coming up. and also, a detailed look at your holiday weekend forecast. that's next. we have new information this morning on the terror in turkey. turkish officials are now saying 43 people have died from the attack at the istanbul airport. meantime, turkish police have detained 22 people believed to be linked to isis after raids and it's not clear, though, that any of them were involved in the attack on the airport. however, authorities blame isis from tuesday's coordinated attack. a turkish newspaper is reporting that the three suicide bombers were russian national and apparently a part of the chechen-led cell. and we have this new video to show you. it shows you one of the alleged istanbul bombers staring down a police officer. the three bombers opened fire to create panic outside the airport before two of them entered the building and blew themselves up. the third detonated his explosives at the entrance. more than 200 people are hurt. former london mayor boris johnson announced today that he will not run for the british prime minister. johnson was one of the lead campaigners for britain to leave the european union. he was considered the front-runner to secede prime minister david cameron. johnson says he'll give support to the next administration. >> to make sure that we properly fulfill the mandate of the people, who were delivered at the referendum, and to champion the agenda i believe in. to stick up for the forgotten people of this country. >> now that johnson's name has been taken off the list of front-runners in the race for prime minister are justice secretary michael goal and home secretary teresa may. and a wildfire is spreading quickly in idaho. it started overnight in an area called table rock in boise. theç winds made it difficult f firefighters to fight these flames. no mandatory evacuations have been put in place, but nearby residents are being asked to leave. no word yet on what sparked this fire. delaware officials are warning swimmers about high levels of bacteria in the water at bethany beach and dewey beach. the beaches are still open. the department of natural resources and environmental controls say the elevated bacteria are due to increased rainfall. there was a similar advisory for rehoboth beach last week, but it was lifted after the bacteria levels fell. meantime, between now and july 5th, you can vote for your favorite spot at the jersey shore. mj advanced media is asking you to vote for your favorite jersey shore community from sandy hook down to cape may. you can vote for the best beach based on a number of qualities, including cleanliness, boardwalks, food and recreation. the winner seven-day forecast always at the bottom of the screen for you. so you'll be able to see that weekend forecast. the important holiday weekend forecast. temperatures right now across the area are warming up quickly. all right 81 in philadelphia, near 80 in delaware, south jersey, even through the lehigh valley. and if you're along the shore, temperatures here right around 80 degrees. expect another warm day at the shore. neighborhood temperatures in philadelphia, low 80s mostly. parkside, 82 degrees. 84, west mount area. if you're in society hill, you're at 11. fox chase, 80 degrees. win chester park coming in at 71 degrees. so this afternoon, we'll be at about the mid- to upper 80s. a dry day. and future weather really showing that, too, as we go through the afternoon. nice and quiet. everything stays dry. then we'll see more clouds increase tonight. so through the overnight hours, more clouds move in. and now here's your friday morning. we have showers in the forecast. we could see some around for the morning commute. so this is 9:00 in the morning tomorrow. can't rule out a thunderstorm, but i think the best chance of any storms would be later in the day, once we get nice and warm again. now here's 2:00 p.m. we could already see some widespread showers and storms across the area, lasting through the evening, and there is a chance by 7:00 p.m., we could see a line of storms from the lehigh valley down through washington, d.c. some of these could start to organize aç bit, so between 7: and 10:00 p.m., i think moving through the philadelphia area. so if you have the plans friday night, if you're starting your weekend early, just keep in mind, we have rain in the forecast. take the umbrella with you, keep an eye to the sky. so we do expect lightning to be around, especially in any thunderstorms. so now we're looking at 10:00 p.m. i think we'll have some showers and storms lingering through late tomorrow. so for tomorrow, kexpect the rain, a fair amount coming in, 87 degrees. as well as lansdale, if you're in allentown, mid-80s. so a warm, humid day with the rain around. if you're in robbinsville in new jersey, 5 degrees. avondale, 82. dover coming in at 84. now we'll take a look at the longer range forecast. for your weekend, we're looking good. high pressure for saturday, even sunday. that keeps us nice and dry. the rain to our south really should be staying to the south. then we go into monday. we're going to be dry most of the day monday. this particular model showing the potential for rain, not until late monday night, not for everybody. i think it will mostly be along the shore in new jersey, potentially delaware, but again, that would be late monday night. of course, we'll have more details on that as we get closer with the computer models constantly updating for you. so we'll have more details even later on this afternoon. dry tomorrow. the weekend looks good. monday looks good. your ten-day outlook for philadelphia, nice and dry for your fourth of july weekend. tuesday, thunderstorms. we could have a stretch of 90-degree temperatures next week. that would be a heat wave. and if you're headed to the shore this weekend, looking really good saturday and sunday. low 80s. uv index is high. sun burn in about 15 minutes. keep that in mind. and your monday looks really good, too. again, dry most of the could be even more dangerous than previously thought. i'm pamela osborn. we're live in north philly. there's a huge surprise that's about to take place. it's going to benefit a lot of kids in our area. i can tell you what it is just yet, but you don't want to miss it. well, it's a place that has taken summer camp to the next level for more than 40 years now. and once again, upper darby's summer stage is cultivating a new generation of actors, performers, and broadway stars, like one of its most famous alum, tina fey. it's also become a great training ground for people who work behind the scenes. and our next guests are proof of that. chris lunar is the production manager of upper darby's center stage and he's also a stage manager who has worked on broadway. chris is here with jackie langley, the musical director for dinosaur musical, which is one of the summer shows at upper darby's summer stage. appreciate you both for coming here. chris, let me start with you. you worked at the great white way, so you've been in new york. what keeps bringing you back here to summer stage? >> i think it's really the people who are involved. i started as a participant in the program and i've worked my way up into a staff position now and i just really love giving the opportunity to work with kids each season, which brings me back from new york, bring back home to philadelphia. >> and what's the experience like for the kids? what's it look for them to be involved in summer stage? >> well, upper darby is unique in the sense that it isn't necessarily like other theater programs or camps, where we're focused necessarily on the work. we're also focused on the friendships and building character and teaching them life lessons, as well, in the daily rehearsal process. >> jackie, this is your 21st year with summer stage. what's your experience been like? >> it's been great. when i was younger, it was always, i wanted to get up on stage and sing, dance, and act. and i think as i got older, it's watching students become passionate and trying to inspire them to love theater as much as i did. >> do you both -- so you guys were involved as kids, do you both feel -- now that you're adults and have worked your way into the program, is there some sense of responsibility you feel to help prepare the next generation? >> yeah, i think that when we were younger, we have such great staff members. we have over a hundred staff at summer stage. and having them teach us the skills, it's now our responsibility to teach the next generation of kids to love theater, just as much as we did. >> and speaking of theater, tell us about the shows. it's going to be a busy summer for you guys. >> yeah, we do seven shows in six weeks, which is a really big feat. over 700 participants. our season starts with disney princesses and heros. then we go to bye-bye birdie junior, and christmas in july, we're celebrating this year with elf junior. >> and our second half of the season, we have james and the giant peach, disney's "mulan," and end our season with the dinosaur musical. >> and on top of all of that, we have "nice work if you can get it," our huge main stage show, broadway caliber. rivals any production you would see in downtown philadelphia. >> how long does it take for you to prepare for each show? because that's a lot of our work? >> each of our children's theater shows go up in a span of two weeks' rehearsal, so 15 days or less. these kids are working hard. rehearsals in the morning and the afternoon. them to step up to the cause and they always do. >> that is earlier this year on the 4th at 5:00 p.m. and we're bringing you all of the events for wawa welcome america. right now wawa is getting ready to hand out thousands of hoagies on independence mall. nbc's tim furlong is there live. and tim, a concert is just starting as part of that event? >> reporter: yes, as a matter of fact, vai, we just heard -- i'll let you hear. the uso singers are just starting right now and they're really crushing it. they really have great voices. ♪ in liberty's light ♪ who more than felt their country love ♪ ♪ america,ç america ♪ ♪ >> reporter: they're the uso singers. chef robert irvine is here, also with the uso. it's going to be a very patriotic. this is probably the biggest event we've had so far for wawa welcome america in terms of the crowds that are out here. take a walk with me. see all these white tents over here? in a little while, wawa is going to bring out the 18,000 hoagies that they made earlier this morning, over at the constitution center. they're going to have them right over here. excuse us, guys. we'll walk right over here. tasty cake is giving out crimpette. it doesn't give any more filling than that? philly for the 4th right? all these people are from wawa stores up and down the east coast. hundreds of wawa employees have come out here. they worked since 4:00 this morning making the hoagies. the hoagies are now in trucks. they're getting ready to bring them in and out in a little while. 18,000 hoagies. they actually made to 23,000. the first 5,000 went to fill-abundant. what's your name, sir? >> jamage. >> forecast. hi, sheena. >> hey, vai. yeah, it's a beautiful day at the shore. it's going to be a beautiful day everywhere today. tomorrow, though, that's when we have some changes in the forecast. showers and storms moving in, but here's a live look out at center city right about now. just about sunny to mostly cloudy skies. the view, 81 driveways. the temperature warming up nicely. it will continue to warm up, mid- to upper 80s this afternoon. and your seven-day is at the bottom of the screen for you. so for today, here is the forecast if you're an allentown, quakertown, exton, atlantic city, wilmington, temperatures continuing to rise into the 80s by 5:00 p.m.. i think more like the mid- to upper 80s. tonight, we'll see clouds increasing, staying a little warm and also humid, especially tomorrow. and then look what happens tomorrow. we have showers and storms in the forecast, so we do have rain heading our way for the end of the week. so if you're starting your weekend ahead. new at 11:00, a philadelphia mom accused of killing her two young kids in florida will not stand trial. a judge ruled yesterday that 40-year-old sophia heinz is incompetent due to mental illness. heinz is accused of smothering her 3-year-old and 8-year-old with a bed sheet earlier this month. she is charged with murder. for now, she'll go to a forensic hospital to be treated for mental illness. videos posted on social media appears to show a police chase involving a go cart. the two videos are of a man driving a go cart down a highway in oakland, california. you see right behind him is a black suv with flashing lights. witnesses cheered as the go cart sped past them. not clear from the video if officials ever pulled over thatç cart. federal safety officials are out with a new warning for older cars equipped with takata air bags. tests found some of the devices are more prone to deadly malfunctions than first thought. nbc news has exclusive coverage of this story. here's nbc 10 national correspondent, tracie potts. >> if you could end up having the shrapnel coming at you. >> reporter: nhtsa estimates there are 300,000 of these older cars on the road that have not yet been repaired. notifications have been sent, but some owners haven't followed up. new tests on these older cars with takata air bags found that when people drove them in hot, damp places like florida, along the gulf coast of texas and southern california, the inflaters malfunctioned, causing an explosion that sent shrapnel flying. in lab tests, the inflaters ruptured 50% of the time. >> of the ten united states lives that have been lost, eight have been in these vehicles. >> many cars in this new warning have been recalled since 2008. honda says 70% have been repaired. it's the other 30% they're trying to fix. one car at a time. >> in a statement to nbc, honda says they're going to extraordinary measures to reseek owners, millions of letters, automated phone calls, text messages. they've even hired private investigators to track some of them down. tracie potts, nbc news, washington. and we're hearing from passengers this morning who were onboard a plane heading to philadelphia when it suddenly caught fire. the american airlines flight was getting ready to take off from seattle yesterday when a fire sparked. authorities say the fire was in the auxiliary power unit, just below the tail section. fire crews quickly put it out. passengers boarded another plane after a four-hour delay. finally made it here to philadelphia. that's when they told us about their experience. >> the captain came on and said, hey, we have a problem, and another pilot noticed smoke. >> we didn't see any fire, at least i personally didn't. >> they took care of it pretty well. it was frustrating. >> no one was hurt. the plane that caught fire is being inspected. and a federal agency is reminding us about fireworks safety as we get closer to the fourth of july holiday. every year, the consumer products safety commission shows what can happen when fireworks aren't handled properly. experts say, never place any of your body directly over fireworks when lighting the fuse and never try to re-light or pick up malfunctioning fireworks. the national parks service is launching a social media campaign today to remind visitoç tha s that no drones are allowed. the drones are prohibited at all national parks and on the national mall in washington, d.c. the ban was put into place because drones can be disturbing to other people trying to enjoy the parks and to wildlife. operators can face penalties and fines if they try to fly the aircraft. and we have a warning for people who like to eat cookie dough as a sweet treat. the food and drug administration says people should not eat raw dough or batter of any kind. that's because of an ongoing outbreak of illnesses related to a strain of e. coli bacteria in some batches of flour. some people who got sick ate or handled raw dough. the agency also encourages parents to avoid using dough for play clay and homemade ornaments. a montgomery county police chief is working his last day today. nbc 10 was in cheltenham as chief norris arrived at the stadium today. he eventually rose to the rank of deputy commissioner. we talked to chief norris about his retirement and how he wants his officers to remember him. >> i did things the way i had to do them and it was the right thing to do. sometimes you make decisions that aren't popular, but sometimes that's what you have to do to protect the department. and basically help the officers. >> deputy chief john frye will take over as acting chief of police at midnight tonight. and up next, we have a big surprise coming up for a very deserving organization philadelphia high schooler. reece whitley in lane six here finished seventh in the semi-final 200-meter breaststroke. only the top four from each heat advance on to the finals. it was whitley's first olympic trial. the 6'8" 16-year-old just finished his sophomore year at penn chatter high school in east falls. meanwhile, michael phelps is celebrating his 31st birthday today after making history last night. he became the first american male swimmer to qualify for five olympics. phelps is the most decorated athlete in olympic history and will be looking for more medals in rio. nbc 10 is your ostation.olympic the opening ceremony is 36 days away now, and you can catch all the action right here on nbc 10 and the nbc 10 app. the philadelphia non-profit organization mana is seeking donations after funding for their children's meal program was cut. the department of human services eliminated its funding leading to a loss of $350,000. mana said it knew the cuts were coming, as human services is moving money from preventative services to more direct services. but mana still needs to feed children, who may not be getting the meals they need, especially during the summer months, away from school. you can make a donation by going to nbc10.com. a local organization believes high school -- high-quality after-school activities help put students on the path to academic success. the group called after-school activities partnership or asap, matches students with clubs that they're interested in, like chess or debate or drama. the activities empower teens, but also benefits the community. and today is asap -- asap is about to get a big surprise. they've been named the newest champions in action, a distinction for groups with a proven record for dedication to the community. nbc 10's pamela osborn is live for us in north philadelphia, carver engineering and science high school, where the excitement is building. pamela, i almost feel like we should be whispering like the masters, because there's a big surprise coming. >> i know, we're trying to keep it quiet here and there's so much excitement we're trying to contain. they're actually meeting on the other side of this door. they do not we're here. they're certainly not expecting us. so why don't we just walk on in. good morning. good morning, everyone. hi. my name is pamela osborn. i'm with nbc 10 news. we are all here to tell you this morning that you all are new champions in action. so congratulations to all of you. this is for the wonderful work that you do in our community to help our kids out. so thank you, again, so much for being here and for everything that you do. and we're going to speak to justin ennis here. he's the executive director here and tell us a little bit about what this means for you. >> well, yeah, this is a great way -- this is our last day of the year. so it's a great way to cap off a wonderful year. it's an award for collective impact, so we're here at one of our great partners, which is carver high school of engineering and science. we actually started the year here. they're opening up a new middle school. they brought us in to help think about how they can have a really strong school cultural. s to have aol cultural. number of after-school programs. as you look at the staff, they're all wearing their different programs that asap runs on their t-shirts. so we have drama represented, debate, we have chess and scrabble. so it's just a way that we try to support healthy school cultures and keep kids active after school. >> awesome. so you guys get $35,000 today. so that's a pretty great thing. something to be excited about, for sure. and i'm going to take a moment to introduce you to our president and general manager over at nbc 10, rick harris. >> hi, philadelphia. most of the area, close to 80 degrees. plenty of sunshine on our cameras. and the humidity today is going to stay at a very comfortable level. today's high, about the mid- to upper 80s across the area. mid-80s through the lehigh valley. mid- to upper 80s through delaware. and through the philadelphia area, so today we're going to be staying nice and dry. tomorrow, a different story. thunderstorms in the forecast. it's going to be warm and humid, still. be be sure you have the  umbrella. tomorrow's forecast already, 84 degrees. scattered showers and storms, easton, 81. make sure if you're starting your weekend early, and tomorrow is the first day of your fourth of july plans, have an eye to the sky and your umbrella. we'll have rain around, phoenixville, 83 degrees. scattered thunderstorms. philadelphia coming in around the mid-80s for a fair amount. also by a very scattered storms. 86 in trenton. 83, glassboro. close to the shore, expect those scattered showers and storms. temperatures, 83 degrees in avalon and for delaware, 87 degrees with scattered showers and storms in wilmington. as we go into your fourth of july weekend, though, it's looking pretty perfect. hot and dry, really nice weather for whatever you're doing. as we go into fourth of july, though, that monday, we're watching the potential for some late rain. i don't think everyone will see it, but at this point, we are seeing the chance of some late-night showers for the fourth of july. so i'll show you that in a second. right now we're looking at this afternoon on future weather. nice and dry. things staying very comfortable and warm. then for friday, clouds increase and scattered showers could be here around the morning commute. that's 9:00 a.m. so we could be dealing with some early rain and then through the afternoon by 2:30, we could already have some heavier showers, maybe some thunderstorms around. and especially later on in the afternoon and evening, now we're looking at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. we could see some showers and storms stretching from washington up through the lehigh valley. and then moving into the philadelphia area, between about 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. some of those still lingering for new jersey and delaware by 10:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. so again, if you have those plans tomorrow night, just make sure you have the umbrella. we could see some lightning in this too, certainly. now we're looking at the weekend, once that rain moves away, by saturday morning, nice and dry. high pressure keeps us dry through the entire weekend. sunday looks good. rain stays just to our south, so we're barely missing out on thp. then we go to monday, fourth of july, looking like another dry, nice day. but by monday night, there is a chance that south jersey delaware, could see some showers around. wouldn't be until late in the day at this point. but of course, we'll keep watching that very closely more you. more updates this afternoon and more updates as we go closer to the weekend. but if you're heading to penn's landing saturday, we're actually not looking at thunderstorms, we're looking at nice conditions for saturday night. so dry. stay tuned, we'll be
