Texas senator ted cruz in second place with 26 . Ohio Governor John Kasich is third with 17 support nationally. Governor kasich joined the today show this morning to discuss his deal with the Cruz Campaign to pull out of indiana. The move was designed to let each campaign place their resources in the states where they had the best chances to win. Kasich is still telling his indiana supporters to vote for him. I have not told anybody to not vote for me. Im just not there campaigning. When you dont campaign in certain areas in any kand of a race, guess what . Your turnout goes down. I dont tell people how to vote. Kasich went on to say he expects there to be a brokered convention in cleveland and he hopes to emerge as the nominee. On the democratic side, Hillary Clinton now has a tenpoint lead over Bernie Sanders nationally. Clintons lead is up one point from last week. And before his appearance in philadelphia this morning, democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders was on msnbcs morning joe to discuss his chances to win the nomination and whether he would support Hillary Clinton if she becomes the nommy. First of all, i do not accept there is no path for us. Lets not count our chickens before theyre hatched. There are five contests today. The state of california, last i heard, the largest state in the United States of america, has not yet cast a ballot. Sanders says if he does not win the nomination, he will do everything he can to make sure that a republican does not end up in the white house. Pamela osborne is live at a polling place. Shes tracking voter turnout. How is it looking . Vai, a lot of people coming in today. I have to tell you, i just got off the phone with the committee of 70, they help keep an eye on Polling Centers. They tell me there are more than a million registered voters in the city. We have seen many of them stopping by Polling Centers like these all morning long. Every vote counts. If you dont vote, you dont count. It didnt take the people turning out at the polls any time to figure that out. The Finley Rec Center was buzzing with people weighing in on the record in the way it counts most. I vote all the time. We bumped into timothy shank at a nearby Polling Center inoa. This is a critical time. He tells us hes less than thrilled with the tone of this years election. Political Watchdog Group committee of 70 tells me that may actually help voter turnout. During the past four or five president ial election seasons they say voter turnout has varied from 20 to 50 . Its still early on in the day, but theyre anticipating anywhere from 400,000 of phillys registered voters to hit the polls. While the numbers are subskrekt to change, the reason behind each individual hasnt really. I had to set an example for my 4yearold so when she becomes 18 years of age, she knows, i have to vote for my rights. And we ended that piece with that mother and daughter because theres something really unique about this election period this time. Were talking about 400 election ambassadors at the polls some time today. These are students, younger people that they have been getting out to get people energized about coming down to the polls.
