The National Weather service confirmed two tornadoes touched down in south florida yesterday. One of the twisters hit Broward County and the other blew through the miamidade area. You can see some of the damage through the air. There were no reports of any injuries. Now your first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Very unusual to see tornadoes like that in south florida. About the only general way you get that is you have waterspouts that come on land. That was not the case yesterday. We are drying out across the region. We had the snow and ice, and then all the rain and wind yesterday. Things really calming down. Weve got a warm weekend ahead. Way above average temperatures. And then a potential coastal storm next week. More on that coming up. We have cloudy skies at the moment. Its 42 degrees. The wind is 13 miles an hour. Only gusting to 16, but its 17 degrees colder than it was at this time yesterday. So it is a little on the chilly side especially without the sunshine. And its in the 30s allentown, reading, pottstown, west chester, lancaster, all 36 to 38 degrees. 27 in the poconos. They get to make snow now for quite a while. And as you can see the warm spot 44 degrees in atlantic city, getting a little bit of sun right down on south jersey shore and delaware beaches. So the temperature as we go through the day today only going up another couple degrees. Not really plunging during the night tonight either. And without a whole lot of wind, its still relatively comfortable. A lot of clouds around here, but it is dry. A little bit of sunshine right toward the shore. And the radar continues to show nothing close by and nothing threatening, at least for quite a while. We have a few snow flurries, thats up toward the great lakes generally staying well to the north. Another weak system back across iowa, but this is a fairly quiet pattern. Its not necessarily going to stay that way. As we go into next week were talking about tuesday and into wednesday the computer model showing some sort of a coastal storm, threat of at least some snow for at least parts of our area. Question of course is going to be with the track is it going to be closer to the coast, bring in warmer air. So its going to be one of those cases probably where the better chance of snow would be north and west. And this is mostly for wednesday of next week. The temperatures going into the 40s today, dropping into the 30s tonight. Temperatures fairly close to average for this time of the year. For today, clouds and perhaps a little bit of sunshine. High temperatures only in the low to mid 40s. Not nearly as windy as yesterday. And the sevenday forecast, well, were seeing Colder Weather tomorrow with some wind. So thats the coldest day of the week. Then on friday chance of a shower late. And look at what happens over the weekend. Saturday 59, sunday 57 and then theres that chance of a storm next week.
