Deanna durante joins us live from Chestnut Hill. Reporter you can imagine that in this cold people would want to stay in. If you can find a place like this you find people outside. And in Chestnut Hill they dont want you to stay inside this weekend. They want you to come out and be in the cold weather. They really did. The temperatures in the low to mid20s, weve seen that for the last several hours. Temperature only dropping very, very slowly out there right now. Were waiting for the arctic front to come through and while we do there have been snow flurries across the area, but you can see the visibility is still excellent in philadelphia. So it cannot be snowing very hard. The visibility gets reduced as the snow gets harder. The wind chill warning in effect for the poconos until sunday at 1 00 p. M. Wind chill advisory for the rest of the area, until sunday at 9 00 a. M. Conditions will be a little bit more tolerable sunday afternoon than they will be saturday afternoon. And not much wind right now. But by morning there will be and even though the temperature doesnt change much, when the wind increases, the wind chill goes down. Its going to feel like 5 by 7 00 tomorrow morning. And then it gets even colder by 2 00, it feels like 3 below. 5 below by 8 00. 14 below by 8 00 a. M. Sunday. Thats when its going to feel the coldest and by sunday afternoon were actually feeling like its above zero. Were going to have similar kinds of temperatures and wind chills across the entire area. Ocean city, 8 with a wind chill of 17 below. By sunday morning. 2 degrees in philly. That would tie a record. 4 degrees in wilmington with a wind chill of 15 below. 1 below in doylestown, wind chill 22 below. And 3 below in allentown. The record for allentown is 1 below so we may set some records there. We also have to be concerned about frozen potentially bursting pipes, hypothermia like those people jumping into the ocean tomorrow. When they get out, get covered up real quick. Get dry real quick. Frostbite, dont want to leave anything uncovered. Total coverage of all exposed skin. Heres the radar and you can see some light snow across the area, but we showed you the pictures. Its not heavy enough to reduce the visibility much which means its not really heavy enough to accumulate. A little bit more significant down across northern delaware, the real significant snow is south of the state of delaware. Thats what im going to be watching the most. You look at the visibility to see how heavy the snow is. Coatesville is 5 miles. And wilmington and philadelphia, bluebell, not seeing reduck sthun at all. So thats flurry kind of intensity. Not anything more. Patchy light snow in parts of the area with bitter winds coming toward daybreak. Its going to pick up by daybreak and as you saw, the wind chill drops quickly. Frigid winds 20 to 30, gusts as high as 50. And temperatures only in the teens. Theres the coldest at sunday morning, then on monday we have a storm developing. Snow moving in. Could accumulate but its going to change to rain. By monday night and into tuesday, as that storm moves past. You have a few hours left to get into the lottery to run the countrys largest 10mile race.
