Despite 21 days of searching for answers, progress is slow and results of the autopsy and toxicology report are only adding to the mystery. Nbc 10 south Jersey Bureau reporter cydney long spoke to the attorney for the little boys grandparents today in their desperate search for what happened. Reporter i can tell you bill brennan feels hes acting more like a tour guide than a counselor for little brendans grandparents, calling this case extremely frustrating. In fact, he could not recall a similar case hes been involved in in recent years that have proved to be this mysterious. On a scale of ten for being cooperative, id say a solid ten. Reporter bill brennan has every confidence his clients are innocent and had nothing to do with the death of their own grandson, 3yearold Brendan Creato. Trying to survive day by day, trying to support their son, brendans father, trying to go on with their lives and trying to grieve. Reporter the longtime philadelphia criminal defense attorney spoke to us on the familys behalf today, sharing their reaction to the fact toxicology tests came back negative with no traces of drugs, poison, or anything in brendans system. It was the test so many close to brendan were counting on after autopsy results proved inconclusive. I believe they are, in a sense, relieved that apparently theres no obvious foul play, but youre still left with that openness, theres no closure here, and its very frustrating. Reporter in a bizarre twist im aware of the video. Reporter he did watch a homemade documentary brought to investigators attention produced by brendans aunt in which the little boy played by brendan went missing and was later found dead. I dont know how much it brings to the table with regard to finding out what happened to this little boy. Reporter brennan called the video a red herring in the case, its since been removed from youtube. I can tell you they want answers. They want answers yesterday, more than anybody. Reporter and brennan did go on to say he, as well as Brendan Creatos family has every confidence in the Camden County Prosecutors Office and detectives that they will ultimately get to the bottom of this. It seems unusual to me to suggest somehow it should be paused yet again.
