today. >> nbc 10 in medford this morning before the rain moves in tonight. one of the kids' activities, canoeing on the lake. not a a bad day to be out there on the water. many of you probably have friday night plans. >> we are tracking what's really a neighborhood forecast. we talked about this every day, but this is why. notice that we are already seeing some rain showers and sol lightning strikes through berks county and lehigh valley. everybody else is clear right now as far as rain is concerned. but everybody is already seeing developing clouds very quickly. let's zoom right on in to berks county. we are picking up on heavier downpours and lightning strikes. as we go in closer, i want to show you the rainfall. this is your rainfall rates. but everybody else is pretty much dry. we are waiting for that rain to make its way here as a warm front starts to lift from the southwest to the northeast along the enginejersey shore. we're not seeing anything. just developing clouds again. truly a neighborhood forecast. perspective tells us what's going on. we have this area of low pressure. then that cold front is going to sweep on through. we'll have a break of the rain. a little bit of a break during the middle of the day on saturday and more rain make it is here for the second half of your saturday. so unfortunately, it does look like a saturday soaker. details in your most your smart phone. >> president trump has more stern words for north korea. he warned that country's president of consequences that will come if action is taken. >> he will truly regret it fast. >> the president made the comment at his golf club in north jersey. it this morning he took to twitter to warn the north not to move forward with their ballistic missile testing. hopefully kim jong-un will find another path. this latest warning comes after north korea announced a detailed plan to launch missiles as the pacific territory of guam. guam is a major military hub for the u.s. nearly 7,000 american service members are stationed there. >> we feel safe here. that's going to continue. >> they have vowed a strong reaction if they go through with the plan. if we move conflict we'll have that part of the story. >> while the two waited at a traffic light. the victim is in critical condition after being shot several times in oxford circle late last night. investigators say he was stopped at the light there when another driver pulled up and opened fire. people nearby heard the gunshots. >> i looked down and there was an ambulance up. near at the end. it's not as bad as it used to be, but every now and then you hear gunshots. >> police say witnesses were able to give them a description of the gunman and his car. a 20-year-old woman is dead after a crash in gloucester county. sky force 10 was in south harrison township around noon today. katherine campbell's car collided with a truck. campbell was killed. the truck driver went to the hospital. police on the scene b right now of a shooting near the target at the roosevelt mall. the victim, we're told, has been rushed to the hospital. we're also told that victim has serious injuries and police are still searching for the gunman. you can see a lot of police activity out there. nbc 10 has a crew headed to the scene on the ground. keep it here for any developments on this breaking story. a judge could soon rule on whether members of a penn state fraternity will be tried for the death of a pledge. 16 of them are in court again for another day of testimony in their preliminary hearing. two others waived that hearing. some are accused of involuntary manslaughter and some face less serious charges. the charges stem from the death of tim piazza back in february. he died after a night of drinking and several falls including twice down a flight of stairs. this is actually day five of a hearing that began back in june. it could wrap up today. when it does the judge will decide if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with this. time may be running out for a popular bucks county summer camp. we told you about the problems at the cherokee day camp. today the land went up for auction at a sheriffs sale and the new own ir acknowledge's the camp's future is uncertain. george spencer was at the sale this morning. he has a look at what this means for families of the campers. >> reporter: for the next four to eight weeks, the current owners of cherokee day camp still have possession of this property, which means theoretically they can keep the camp operating through the end of summer. but after that, the road ahead for this decade's old day camp is not clear. walking out of the sheriffs sale this morning, attorneys for monument bank started the newest chapter for cherokee day camp. the bank bought back the property that's home to this kids spot after officials say the current owner fell far behind on payments. a neighbor sent his daughter to the camp 25 years ago under previous owners. >> it sounds like the end of an era. >> it probably is. for 30 years it's been a day camp. >> reporter: the sheriffs sale comes as parents and former workers are raising concerns about the recent management of the the camp itself. >> i witnessed a lot. >> reporter: jackie says she volunteered at cherokee day camp last summer while her daughter was a camper. e she reiterated the concerns of parents which nbc 10 tirs exposed on wednesday. management has been cutting corners on safety precautions, camp lunches and even on paying camp counsellors. >> they were young kids taking care of other young kids. >> you just didn't see enough supervision. >> correct. >> reporter: nbc 10 tried to intervow the camp operator earlier this week. he declined an interview and hasn't returned our calls today. meanwhile in a court records of the property owner, we found multiple dockets tr fire code violations which all trace back to the camp property at one declaration drive. we also have not been able to reach him today. monument bank does not intend to own the property tr the long-term. once they take possession, they will put it up for sale. whether a potential future buyer here tries to keep it as a day camp remains to be scene. reporting live, george spencer, nbc 10 news. there are new questions about why a murderment is on the main line was out on the streets in the first place. authorities believe the suspect shot and killed a 29-year-old man on his way to a friend's apartment here last month. they have been searching for him for two weeks. records show he was released from jail last november after two officers failed to show up at his try on gun charges. nbc 10 confirmed an internal review is underway into why those officers did not appear in court. details on the deadly crash in ocean county. police now say the driver lost consciousness before slamming into a restaurant here in eagleswood wednesday. she and another passenger died. two other passengers were seriously hurt. everyone in the restaurant was okay. new information about that breaking news we just told you about a few moments ago. we're following this in northeast philadelphia. police say they have arrested one person in connection with a shooting in front of a target store at the roosevelt mall. you can see that store right there. but officers are checking to see if there is a second shooter still inside the store. you can also see they have quite a bit of that parking lot blocked off. s.w.a.t. teams were being told to head to the area to make sure the situation is safe and there's not a shooter still inside. keep it here for any developments on the breaking story. we have a crew on the way to the scene. we'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available. the attorney for the former radio d jrj accused of groping taylor swift has rested his case. the last witness called was his ex-girlfriend. she testified she did not see the alleged sexual assault, but said mueller was devastated by the accusation. swift's ex-body guard also testified and said he did see it happen but he hesitated to do anything because swift accused him of being mean to her fans in the past. we're getting our first look at the white house renovations. crews are busy laying down new carpeting in the west wing. most of the furniture is in store while the work is being done the president and some of the staff are still on their working vacation at his golf club. google's ceo kans selled a meeting about gender discrimination and diversity. it was cancelled after questions posted to a message service started to leak to the media. workers say they feared for their safety in they spoke up at the town hall meeting. earlier this week google fired an engineer after he sent around a memo saying women are underrepresented at the company because of biological differences. a hospital in new hampshire had to treat patients outside of the emergency room after they became sick inside. the er and operating rooms were closed this morning. more than 20 people became dizzy and nauseous. initial reports that carbon monoxide may have been the cause. authorities now say they are not sure if that's the case. some local students are getting a jump start on the college application process. st. joseph's university hosted a free workshop for high school seniors. 90 students were selected to attend. they learned about essays and what it takes to secure scholarships and loans. two chances at two major jackpots. >> if you have never played years. but he will be a free agent next season. the eagles have added depth at the wide receiver position. so they decided to make the deal but it wasn't an easy decision to make. >> it hurts when this is a shooting at a target store in northeast philadelphia. they have arrested one person b in connection with this shooting. officers are checking to see if there's a second shoot er insid the store. we're also told the s.w.a.t. team is heading to the area to make sure this is all safe. >> e tell us what you're seeing. >>. >> they are along with the district officers. they have all of the doors to the target guarded. i spoke to some of the people at the time. they told me they heard mobile gunshots. right now you are looking at the front of the dostore. s.w.a.t. units are still coming in. >> do we have any idea if there are more people still inside. >> everyone that she was around she said they were escorted out of the target. >> people were still coming out of the target. so i assume that they are basically just letting them out one at a time. >> i heard one person was away from the store. that's the description of one of the people they were looking for. >> where are those people now? have they dispersed. it looks like officer have a a big perimeter around the target. >> just across from the target, most of these people were inside of target at the time shopping. there were children in there at the time of the shooting. right in front of the entrance of the mall where the shooting may have happened, detectives are marking off the parking lot. that's what they do when they have shell casings. it's like ten feet off the sidewalk of the entrance to the mall. >> we're getting information live on the ground there. there has been a shooting. thank you for that just approaching chester county. temperatures for today were in the 80s. definitely a lot of daytime heating was not present, which is why it doesn't look like we're going to see too many thunderstorms. a wider perspective shows everybody else is dry. philadelphia, delaware is dry right now. you do have some rain moving into new castle county. but the jersey shore is still dry. that's going to be the case for the next several hours. i'll show you this. we'll pause this at 6:00 p.m. you are seeing pockets of heavier downpours moving through. parts of the jersey shore. here it is at 3:00 a.m. notice we see a clearing. things look good. hold on. because we do have that cold front sweeping through. so more rainmaking its way in through the second half of your saturday. we will see a break, but we have more rain working in. so forecasted rainfall totals, this is the european model. saturday by 4:00 p.m., you'll see heavier pockets of rainfall. nominal for philadelphia. just over mind. locally, not seeing much going on. clouds developing in and around the philly metro area. already seeing some showers and thunderstorms. and by 3:00 a.m. still seeing the thunderstorms. same for the valley. most of the system approaches through the overnight hours. with the threat of the thunderstorms and for the jersey shore, you'll see the thunderstorms right around midnight. but clearing president trump declared a crisis a national emergency just yesterday. the new study today that it has risen by 39% and costs to treat these patients have jumped 58%. cydney long spoke with the ems at a time. but overall the volume of those overkoes calls is on the rise as is the potency of the opioids being abused. >> i tell people it steals your soul. >> reporter: what happened wednesday morning was an anomaly. >> we were seeing them two at a time. dispatched to one location and find two patients overdosed. >> reporter: as head of operations, it's a constant bat toll save lives and sure i put extra supplies out for our staff. >> reporter: paramedics stayed because extra help was called from outside the city. but every day he and his team say it's an all out fight. >> it's crushing us. the overdose patients and volume of narcan we're giving. >> it is worsening by the minute. >> reporter: in 2016 paramedics administered 950 doses of nor can. so far 1,050 with four months target and were e evacuated? >> yeah, these were customers that were inside the target. they had them waiting in the parking lot across the street from the target. just the past couple minutes, they lined them all up here outside the parking lot at the target. they have been getting information and have been escorting them to their vehicles. >> that parking lot is closed. >> yes, the s.w.a.t. team has been in the building and also on the roof. >> we saw that a short time ago. there were some officers on the ground looking under cars, possibly for a weapon or some kind of evidence. did you see them collect anything before they left. >> we have not seen them collect anything in the parking lot. . there's a red hat there and a gentleman was sitting on the bench that they were interviewing. but they have not marked off anything in the actual parking lot. >> as we continue to follow this breaking news a shooting outside the target store across from the mall. nbc 10 is on the valley. oranges and some yellows telling us we have pockets of heavier downpours. as the warm front is lifting from the southwest towards the northeast, i want to zoom in. a little sooner than we previously anticipated. but a wider perspective shows us why everybody is not seeing the rain now. an area of low pressure to the north and west of us is going to allow this to move into our area. notice the shoreline everybody is not seeing just some clouds. developing right now, but no rain. more on the way. i'll explain this better. hour by hour forecast at 4:30 p.m., notice we see the rain moving in from west to east. but midnight it looks like we see pockets of heavier down pours. we get this going through the overnight hours between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. then we see a break. tomorrow afternoon, what we're seeing is mainly clouds and some isolated rain showers for berks county and new castle county. but then we get this going and move through tomorrow evening and tomorrow night and 8:30 p.m. we're seeing a line of storms moving through the metro area. this would be associated with that cold front that's well on its way. forecasted rainfall totals, heavier for the jersey shore. north ask west of that it, current temperatures are mainly in the 80s. upper 70s for coatesville. it looks better for sunday. mostly sunny skies. i'm tracking more showers for the next
