A lawsuit says a Philadelphia Hotel help sex traffickers enslave a 14yearold girl and it took place for years. The girl described men waiting if sex, lining the walls of that motel. Sounds horrible. Reporter yeah, guys, the details of this lawsuit, they are vivid. The girl herself was not able to talk to us. She is still a minor, but her lawyers insist that those working and managing this hotel, knew exactly what was happening. Northeast phillys Roosevelt Inn and its management are being sued for being a part of a crime they claim they never knew was happening. We have an innocent girl here who in exquisite detail will someday tell a jury what happened. Reporter the lawsuit filed today claims a 14yearold girl was forced into sex slavery here and the hotel and its staff let it happen. This was a girl who was trafficked there. It was open, obvious and notorious. It was known to the staff. It was known to the management. It was known to the front desk. At times, they even received gratuities. Reporter the alleged victim is identified by the initials m. B. When she was 14 years old she was recruited to engage in sex acts at the Roosevelt Inn. She was forced to have sex with men for money. Reporter the Management Company which owns the hotel, told us it had no comment on the allegations. The hotel manage told us he had no knowledge of these things. Im mitch blocker from nbc 10 we spoke on the phone. How are you sir . Fine. Reporter do you have a second to come talk with us . Not with the camera please. Reporter now, off camera, the manager told us he has to kick people out of the hotel. He also told us he has seen scantly dressed women in the hallways, he says he never saw any indications of sex trafficking. But we are looking into the history of sex trafficking here at the roosevelt in. The investigators will have those for you up at 5 30. Were live in northeast philly. Just to be clear, this is a civil suit, right . What did you find out about any criminal case against anyone that was forcing that girl into sex slavery . The u. S. Attorneys office is not commenting on what charges. The u. S. Attorney goes after the trackers and has a history of doing that, especially in the philadelphia area. The lawsuit here is really going after those who are profiting from this practice, jim. Thanks, we know youll stay on top of this. This morning, a dump truck slammed into a school bus heading to a school for the deaf in wilmington. The driver of the dump truck ran a red light. It happened in wilmington. Tim furlong was the only reporter on scene. I heard a large screech and a bang. Reporter rodney heard it happen in wilmington south bridge neighborhood, a morning crash with the Christina School district bus and a dump trump. The school bus was going through the light and the dump truck never stopped at the light. Just hit the bus. Reporter the few kids on the bus werent hurt but they were taken to the hospital to be checked out. They were headed to the Delaware School for the deaf in newark. The bus driver and an aide were taken to the hospital. The man and the woman in the dump truck, ronnie says their injuries werent life threatening but they had the worst of it. They were bleeding really bad. The woman was pinned underneath the dash board. I asked if they were okay. Lets call 911 right now, dont nobody touch nobody. And then the cops and everybody shows up. By midmorning here it looked like this, heavy wet snow falling at a rapid clip. I wore a tee shirt pretty much every day. Thats when the clouds build up and that when this storm starts to develop with. Part of it at least in the gulf of mexico, the more white lines you get, the more intense the storm is. The wind is starting to come in off the ocean. This is monday night. This does not show the type of precipitation. So some of this is going to be heavy snow. Some of its going to be heavy rain. There might be some heavy sleet in between. Thats a fairly intense storm. And that is tuesday. So even if it changes over to rain, it could very well change back to snow. And thats not necessarily the end of the snow for the evening as youll see. There are more snowshowers to the north of philadelphia. As we zoom in here. Theres the one that just went to the south. And heres one thats in montgomery county. Upper bucks county, richland getting some heavy snow. This is just about to hit norris town, phoenixville is getting heavier. When you get this little burst and then it dries out, clears out and the sun comes out. But we need these to die down because theyre putting moisture on the roads, and its going to be getting colder and so then the moisture has a better chance to freeze. Normally everything dries out after a storm because of the wind and then the sun. But now this is complicating things. More snowshowers but not as big as whats around right now. We dropped four degrees in philadelphia and just dropped quite a big in potts down, down to 30 in the snow squalls. And so things may be starting to ice up in parts of the area. Because there are more snowshowers coming through until about 7 00, 8 00. And then by that time, it is way below freezing. And its starting to feel like its in the teens. And by midnight, youre feeling like its in the Single Digits across much of the area. And by tomorrow morning, closer to zero in many parts of the area, just like the worst of last weekend. Prosecutors say it was packers boyfriend who strangled the girl in a hot attic in july a day after he raped and beat her while sarah watched. Prosecutors say she helped plan the crime. Were not here to say how shes involved at all. Theres a lot to go. The investigation is still ongoing. And well determine what her role was or wasnt. Reporter prosecutors say despite the arrest and charges against packer and sullivan, the case is not finished and continues to hunt for evidence. When we present the case it will be presented the good, the bad the ugly and the terrible. Reporter packer was a social worker until her husband at the time was convict of raping a foster child. She worked for a private Foster Care Agency called the impact project. Since nbc 10 introduced you to two young women who claim they told workers at the impact project about abuse they saw in the packer home. They have refused to speak to us. The message may seem official and claim to be from the government. Harry hairston shows you how to tell real from the fake. Reporter cj was checking his email the other week, when he got a message from someone claiming to be high up in the government. Skoodirector of the fbi. Reporter the email said it was urgent and was owed 10 million. The sender said all they needed was his name, address and phone number. He says, thats where he drew the line. He contacted nbc 10 responds instead of writing back. Reporter because it was such a good one, i felt like a lot of people might fall for it. Now, we called philadelphia fbi office which tells nbc 10 it does not send emails asking for personal information. A similar fbi email scam has been in circulation for almost ten years. If you get one of these emails, do not reply. Dont open any attachments and report it to the fbi Internet Crime complaint center.
