Turning to our weather now, beautiful site at the blue cross river rink at penns landing out there. Its going to feel a lot more like winter in the next couple of days. Temperatures are dropping and things are changing. We had a feeling this was going to happen. Weve been breezing through january. Were not talking about anything extreme. What weve seen is so mild that just average january weather is going to feel pretty chilly. Its 49 degrees in philadelphia right now. Theres a sustained wind of 26 Miles Per Hour. Bringing that colder air in. 21 miles an hour, much of new jersey, delaware averaging 25 Miles Per Hour. You can see a mix of sun and clouds out there. The place, of course, thats getting coldest first in our region, berks county and Lehigh Valley. Its already down to 41 in lenardsville. Fleetwood, walnut port is only 41. Bath at 42. Bethlehem and easton and nazareth at 43 degrees. So thats getting a little bit closer to average. But look at the wind. Its been way above average. It was gusting to 40 Miles Per Hour a couple hours ago. As the warm air came in and now its bringing the colder air in. 41 miles an hour there in Atlantic City. 36 at bellmar, 32 Dover Air Force base. 39 Miles Per Hour in wilmington. We have had gusts over 45 Miles Per Hour today. It will be windy tomorrow. But the gusts only to about 30 Miles Per Hour. So that is a significant difference. Were just getting normal winter temperatures that are returning. As we head to the weekend and a relatively dry pattern except for a couple chances of flurries. Youll see some of that in the sevenday forecast at the bottom of your screen for your own neighborhood. The temperature trend, well, the average high is 40 for this time of the year. 50 for yesterday. 55 for the high so far today. Were dropping a good bit tomorrow. Thats still above average. And then were getting closer to average as we go through the weekend. But it will not be as windy as what weve seen the last couple of days. This is what tradar looked like at 10 00 this morning. Last of the showers coming through philadelphia and plenty of showers in delaware and new jersey. That has moved to the east. The drier air coming in. The lake effect snow is staying to the west. The cold air is not staying out there. Its coming straight in, straight out of the great lakes, and eventually you look back and some of that is coming from canada. And so the feels like temperatures are going to be going down into the 20s later on tonight. Were not talking about any brutally cold. Its just not going to warm up that much over the day tomorrow. The highest its going to feel is about 35. And barely 30 in the Lehigh Valley. And it kind of levels off as we go through friday night and saturday. Its feeling like the 20s during the day. And pretty much the 20s at night. So winter is coming back. Tomorrow, the wind is 1525 Miles Per Hour, up to 47 in fairmount but 41 in chestnut hill. It will be different depending on what neighborhood youre in. Allentown barely getting up to 40 degrees. And East Township at 47. Longport 48. Dover at 45 degrees. Were going to be seeing that colder air coming in for the weekend and it will be colder saturday and sunday than it will be tomorrow. But were expecting a dry weekend and not nearly as much wind.
