First thing this morning we heard from voters about some minor issues. The first thing we heard was that the machines were not set up on time. Investigative reporter Mitch Blacher has been tracking the vote and hes live in Montgomery County. Reporter the main issue here in montgomery could have been are those absentee ballots here in Montgomery County, we have been down to polling places in delaware county. The one surprise that we did find as far as problems at the polls was down in delaware county. Jackie is voting in person for the first time in years. Government work took her family around the world. We lived in belgium, we lived in puerto rico. My husband came this morning and said that one of the poll iing places were down. Have you ever seen anything like this . Never. Reporter delaware could have been officials were able to erase the pen and get everybody back in service. Were told everyone who wanted to vote was able to. Back in Montgomery County, in person voting has been smooth thanks in part to volunteers like jeanette davis. The problem is with those mail in absentee ballots, about 85 hu8500 still have not been returned. For those who voted absentee for years, are voicing their frustration. The last chance for absentee ballots in moptd Montgomery County was last night. Other problems, Burlington County may not have all of its ballots counted tonight. Election officials noticed a printing error this morning. Theyll have to hand count those ballots cast there. Ive if you have a problem at the polls, call 877nbcwcau. Reporter senator pat toomey expected to cast his ballot about 6 45 tonight a few blocks from his home, just about an hour before polls officially close. Hes expected to answer who his choice is for president. That is a question hes avoided for much of this campaign season, and whether or not he will endorse donald trump. The critics are saying that by announcing this late, most voter also have already cast their ball ballots, not knowing where toomey stands. They have made multiple stops across pennsylvania. They do tell me that voters will pick pat toomey for his independent voice, they also criticized Katie Mcginty for her ethics problems. They called pat toomey spineless because he would not publicly disclose whether he was voting for donald trump before voters cast their ballots. Hes expected to vote here about 6 45 tonight and then he will make his way to his Campaign Rally in upper middleboro town ship. Chester county a key area for republicans. Chester county has more registered republicans than democrats, but they have even more independents or uncommitted voters. I want to show you a map with some of the key municipalities. Chester, is the only county surrounding philly that governor mitt romney beat president obama in 2012.
