If you look at the sevenday scrolling right at the bottom of your screen, youll see we have a stretch of 90s in the forecast. Another heat wave. So summer is not officially over yet. Well take a closer look at the heat wave coming and whether that will last into your weekend, straight ahead. New video of the two men accused of shooting and wounding an Atlantic City Police Officer. They were greeted by several dozen angry officers in court today. Cydney long was in the courtroom. The two suspects had some company today. Reporter indeed they did. They had the eyes and stares of as many as 75 to 100 Law Enforcement officers to the point the court had to turn some away. The wife who is expecting their third child is at the hospital. Here in the courtroom it was the men and women in blue that picked up this task. For the First Time Since they allegedly fired multiple rounds on two Police Officers, Demetrius Cross and chisholm answered to attempted murder charges before a judge. And before a courtroom jam packed with dozens of Law Enforcement officers from 14 south jersey departments. Cross cried in court. It was an armed robbery, police say, that led to a shootout by the seeds ars casino parking garage between cross, chisholm and police. Damon collapsed and died and returned fire by police. Im more concerned with the family of our officer. Reporter matt rogers is overwhelmed by the officer and his family. Hes thankful for the officers who came today to see the defendants face to face. Its been more than two months since norman was shot seven times as he responded to a call. The shooting suspect has been charged with attempted murder. Jury selection began in the trial who will determine who should compensate victims of the 2013 Market Street building collapse. The defendants in the collapse include the owners building, the Salvation Army and the contractor. Jury selection could take several weeks. New video of an unholy act. Philadelphia police are searching for a man who stole a menorah from a synagogue in the citys somerton section. The man was walking with a group last month, took off and grabbed the menorah from congregation beth solomon synagogue. Then he ran back to the group. If you recognize this suspect, call police. If todays any indication, Regional Rail passengers may have to get used to waiting a little longer during their morning commute. Septa has been dealing with a slowdown since before july 4th. They warned things could get a little worse because people were returning to school and work after summer vacation. We found delays of about a half hour at some stations this morning. Septa is adding a Supplemental Bus Service and changed its Regional Rail schedule to help move people along faster. I thought the train was coming at 11 15. It got here at 11 50. I hope they put cars on the line and be more accurate with their times. A little farther to the north where we have thicker clouds rolling in from hermine, somers point coming in at 82 degrees. Mays landing, warmer, too. As we go through the rest of today, dangerous rip currents stay at the shore because of hermine. Well keep the high risk around through this evening with some of those rougher seas, especially farther offshore. The heat for us is going to return in the form of 90s for several days. And even feeling closer to 100 degrees, mostly thursday, friday, and possibly on saturday. We have a stretch of some summerlike weather coming back into the forecast. Philadelphia, 90 degrees. Thursday 95 degrees. Friday temperatures in the mid90s. With the humidity, again feeling like triple digits, tomorrow in the pennsylvania suburbs, near 90 degrees. 93 thursday. 92 friday. If youre in the lehigh valley, 88 tomorrow. Thursday and friday youll be in about the mid to low 90s. In new jersey and delaware, youll be closer to 90 tomorrow. Thursday and friday will be coming in with temperatures in the mid to low 90s. Near the shore we could be near 90 degrees on thursday. Friday 87 mostly sunny. As of now it is definitely going to be feeling like summer leading into this coming weekend. So hopefully you can enjoy the shore or wherever youre going this weekend. Well be a little bit cooler by sunday. So were going to have a bit of a cooldown from saturday to sunday. Well be dropping back into the 80s, hot and humid for the rest of the week. Look at hermine, offshore rain mostly. Closer to ocean county, though. Some of the lighter rain bands are trying to move onshore. You see the cloud cover getting closer to a lot of our shore communities, especially Atlantic City, starting to see some of that light rain. Well be watching this heavier band of rain. I think most of that will be staying offshore. Areas farther inland we expect to say dry. Hermine trying to throw some of the rain bands into maybe ocean county by tonight. And then tomorrow it moves offshore again and well be watching for another area of rain just to our west by late in the night tomorrow. 9 30, showers and storms west of the area mostly. And then we expect a lot of those to kind of die out by thursday afternoon, sunny again. Mostly dry across the area. Thats going to lead into friday. We do have a drier stretch with some hotter temperatures. And with the south wind, thats where were going to pick up the humidity to feel like triple digits. As we go into tomorrow, around 90. The temperatures keep going up to the mid90s. Its really going to feel like the sticky summer pattern once again. Normal high, 81 degrees. So were going to be well above normal for this time of the year. About ten degrees or more above normal. Now, as we go into the next several days, aside from the 90s in the forecast, i mentioned well have a little bit of a cooldown as we go into sunday. X. Airport is pleading guilty to murder charges today to avoid the death penalty. Hes expected in u. S. District court in los angeles in about an hour. A little closer to home, in parts of Atlantic County, clouds increasing, a little bit of light rain through ocean county, trying to move south. This is fairly light rain. The heaviest is still offshore. Cape may county staying dry right now. As we go through tonight, we could still see some showers at the shore from hermine, just being close enough to give us those. By 10 00 p. M. Tonight, you see some of the rain trying to make it onshore. Just along the coastal areas. By wednesday well be dry through most of the day. Later wednesday night, 10 00 p. M. , showers and storms just off to our west, trying to move in. But a lot of models, they approach the area, and then they quickly dive to the south. Most of us staying dry. By thursday afternoon, were sunny, but also holt and humid. So the humidity is going to increase a lot thursday and also friday. And were going to stay dry going into the weekend. So we could be breaking some record high temperatures as we go into thursday. This will be part of our heat wave. Thats going to be developing starting tomorrow. Philadelphia could see a record high. The record is 96. Rehoboth 95 for the forecast. Close to a record. Coatesville, mount holly, newark, just to name a few, could be seeing record high temperatures as we go into thursday. The normal high this time of the year, thats actually 81 degrees. So take a look at whats going to happen. Today so far weve got p into the upper 80s, normal high 81. Wednesday were going to be around 90 degrees, almost ten degrees above normal. Thursday, friday and saturday, temperatures from ten to pushing 10 degrees above normal for this time of the year. Police flooded an Atlantic County courtroom to face a man accused of shooting a fellow officer. Why more than a dozen accusers could still get their day in court. Not over yet. Police officers filled this Atlantic County courtroom to confront the men accused of shooting one of their own. The two suspects are charged with attempted murder. Cydney long is following this story since the officer shooting over the weekend. She joins us now with more on what went on today. Reporter thats right, as many as 100 Law Enforcement officers crowded the third floor courtroom to the point that it was standing room only. And you could certainly feel that emotion and tension as those officers confronted facetoface the two defendants accused of pulling the trigger.
