rest of this area is freezing rain, rain that freezes on contact with the cold surface. now, fortunately, it's moving into a little bit warmer air, but we do have some reports in burkes county, for example. also parts of chester county that are below freezing. most places are above freezing except in the poconos at 27 degrees. they're going to see snow and ice stick there. here's burkes county right now, and we've been following these temperatures, and because of the recent really, really cold air, we've seen the surface could be a little bit colder than what these air temperatures are, so there could be some freezing going on. fleetwood and cook's town. allentown at 36. you probably are doing okay in the clear. walnut port, though, at 33. south mountain at 33. you can see how close it is right now. the warmth is going to take over, and we're going to end up with a lot of rain in the middle of the night, but just rain. then it's gone by morning. we'll talk more about more rain coming and maybe even some snow for the weekend coming up. to a developing story tonight. published reports out say russia may have obtained "damaging financial and personal information about president-elect donald trump." sources tell nbc news that the information was included in last week's intelligence briefing presented to mr. trump. the sources did not say whether the fbi is now investigating the information which has not been verified by u.s. agencies. tonight nbc's seth meyers asked trump adviser kellyanne conway about the allegations. >> hillary clinton -- wanted hillary clinton to win may have been behind the investigations themselves, and most importantly, it said that the fbi is trying to confirm it. nothing has been confirmed. >> also tonight, president-elect trump tweeted fake news. a total political witch hunt. though it is not clear what he was referring to. an emotional night in president obama's hometown of chicago. >> tonight he gave his farewell address. >> our democracy is threatened whenever we take it for granted. >> and with president obama's legacy in question, he addressed a divided nation. nbc 10's keith jones is here with details. >> this was more than just a thank you speech. it was call to remain hopeful and an opportunity to counter president-elect trump. >> it was a chicago night filled with emotion. >> in ten days the world under president obama the unemployment rate has dropped from about 8% january 2009 to 4.7%. mr. obama also alluded to his health care reform. the number of americans without health insurance also dropped from 49 million to about 30 million in 2015. finally, the federal public debt is something that president-elect trump has harped on. we've nearly doubled our debt from 10.6 trillion to 20 and hoods heckled senator sessions during today's hearing. two demonstrators were eventually escorted out. president-elect trump selected the alabama senator as his choice for attorney general despite controversy over sessions' record on civil rights. >> i have no belief and do not support the idea that muslims as a religious group should be denied admission to the united states. >> new jersey senator cory booker is expected to testify in tomorrow's second round of hearings. it is rare for a senator to testify against a colleague seeking a cabinet post. today it took a jury in south carolina just three hours to sentence charleston church shooter dillon roof to death. he didn't have any reaction to the verdict. the 22-year-old was found guilty for killing nine people during the 2015 massacre at a historically black church in charleston. he will be formally sentenced tomorrow morning. new at 11:00 delivery drivers fearing for their lives. this after a rash of attacks in chester, delaware county. >> five drivers were robbed, and two of them shot. nbc 10's denise nikano spoke to one of the victims. >> reporter: delivery drivers tell me they go to work not sure they'll return safely. five delivery drivers were robbed at gunpoint in chester, including two from this pizza place. we went on a ride-along to see about the dangers they face as police search for the gunman. >> i want to make a right up here on 22nd street. >> reporter: earning a living on the edge. >> i'm struggling. i'm struggling. i can't sit back and then take it easy. >> reporter: delivery drivers in chester, delaware county, know the feeling of risking life on the job. >> can't do it slow. you got to do it quick, in and out. >> reporter: jim bowman knows it firsthand. >> i get mad because it's four on one with a gun. that doesn't make no sense. >> got that? >> the 50-year-old pizza delivery man had been robbed four times, but he says it's nothing compared to what he is seeing now. a rash of robberies targeting businesses throughout chester and upland. >> you got to be real careful. >> this victim who asked we not show his face is one of five people robbed near the 1,300 block of west ninth street since mid-december on the job. the three-week crime spree targeted five delivery drivers. two were shot. one critically. >> these guys are just trying to make a living. some are ex-felons who are turning around their lives and trying to feed their families, and it's almost a war zone. >> reporter: the driver who was shot in the stomach remains in the hospital. chester police believe the same three to four gunmen all in their 20s wearing black clothing are responsible for this crime spree. in chester, i'm denise nikano, nbc 10 news. the man at the center of the philadelphia clergy sex abuse scandal heads back to court tomorrow. monsignor lynn is heading back to be retried on charges he covered up abuse cases. he was released from prison last august after his conviction was overturned. in tomorrow's hearing a judge is expected to rule on whether to dismiss the case altogether. new developments in the case of murdered teenager grace packer. tonight police search the home of the third person of interest in montgomery county. this is an apartment where grace's mother and her mother's boyfriend lived with another woman. grace's mother sarah, and her boyfriend, jacob sullivan, are accused of murdering the teenager and dumping her body. tonight a warning for parents in ocean county. some 900 children there may be in need of new vaccinations. health officials say vaccines given at southern ocean pediatrics and family medicine in stafford township may not have been properly refrigerated. the vaccines are for illnesses including the measles, mufrps, chickenpox and polio. the department of health is mailing letters to impacted families. charges tonight for philadelphia school bus driver accused of leaving a 7-year-old student on his bus while he went grocery shopping. police tell us jamar henry picked up the second grader from cornerstone christian academy in west philly yesterday afternoon. he stopped at a shop rite at 67th and hatherford and told the boy to stay on the bus while he went inside. a passer-by called police who arrived to find the driver still in the store. >> you can't tell a 7 yerl-year to sit tight on a running bus in west philadelphia. >> police charged henry with endangering the welfare of a child. police say they found some marijuana on him too. the boy was not hurt. new jersey governor chris chris christie is taking on the opiod abuse. >> i will not have the blood of addicted new jersians on my hands because we waited to act. i will not willingly watch another 1,600 of our citizens die and watch their families mourn and suffer. >> christie is promising to limit the supply of opioids that doctors can prescribe. how did a 50 pound dumbbell smash through the windshield of an suv on the and running in the next couple of weeks. a local mayor jumped into action to save a girl from a burning home in gloster county. >> sky 4 ten was over west broad street as the fire burned. mayor gary stevenson happened to be driving by when he spotted smoke rising from the home. they sent a former fire chief to bang on doors until a girl inside woke up. >> they were just getting ready to kick the door in, me and the other gentleman, when the girl came down the steps, and she is, like, what's the matter? i'm, like, honey, your house is on fire. >> thanks, in part, to the mayor's quick thinking, no one was hurt in that fire. new at 11:00 accused cop killer eric freen will not be able to use insanity as a defense if his upcoming trial. a judge banned his defense team from plenty e presenting any evidence of insanity during the trial. jury selection is set to begin in march. frein is charged with dilg corporal brian dixon and wounding another trooper outside the blooming grove barracks in pipe county back in 2014. also new at 11:00 a $1.5 million celtsment for the family of a wilmington man killed by police while sitting in his wheelchair. officers shot jeremy mcdolan september of 2015 after getting the call about a man firing a gun. cell phone video shows him reaching for his waist after officers repeatedly ordered him to drop his weapon and raise his hands. prosecutors declined to file charges against the four officers involved. to montgomery county now where an rotc teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenager. >> nbc 10's brandon hudson reports from lansdale. >> reporter: this is a mugshot of mark miller. he is a retired air force major and former rotc teacher. he is charged with sexual misconduct with one of his students. we went to the school tonight hours after parents and teachers found out. >> that's terrible. that's awful news and a shame for this community. >> reporter: police paperwork shows in december police went to north penn to speak with students while information on his month-long inappropriate relationship. according to the affidavit, the alleged encounters happened inside miller's car at a nearby business park and a hotel room at a marriott courtyard where investigators saw miller on hotel surveillance. police say miller told the alleged victim his marriage was ending soon and he wanted her to be with him in the future. a parent who wanted to remain anonymous told us she's relieved miller is no longer with the school. >> it was the topic of conversation at dinner tonight, and we just have to go through and explain that's an abuse of power. >> reporter: the north penn school district says miller resigned and released a statement saying "charges such as these against miller are contrary to the core values that educators hold true and will never be tolerated in the north penn school district." brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. a horse in chester county is safe in its stable tonight. >> it's thanks to the quick work of rescue crews who pulled the horse out of an icy pond today. these pictures were sent into nbc by the east whiteman fire company. it took rescue crewsation less than an hour to pull the horse to safety and on to dry land. some wet weather for some of us tonight. >> yeah. then a big warmup on the way. glen. >> we're going to be melting a whole lot of that snow. looks a little scary on the radar here. state college down to harrisburg. freezing rain. just in time we've got a southerly wind come up to our area changing the freezing rain to regular rain, one of the exceptions, of course, is the poconos, and we have a little bit of freezing rain there. by the time this area gets in, everybody is going to be warm enough for just rain. if you look closely, you can see precipitation here at camelback. it looks like it is freezing rain mostly. perhaps a few snowflakes. 27 degrees there. it's 37 in allentown and 40 in philadelphia. temperatures have gone up as we have suggested, and it's still borderline in parts of chester county and upper montgomery county. euclid township. a few icy spots for at least an hour or two. milford township is 36. you can see a lot of these numbers have gone up just in time. north wales, new hope, newtown, warm enough so it's just rain. some heavy rain at times in the middle of the night, but by the time morning rush starts, it's over with, and the temperatures way above freezing. it's not going to drop below freezing for quite a while. watch wednesday during the day. it's dry, but at night here comes some rain. perhaps a little on the heavier side. still mild. then it's over with by thursday morning's rush. then the warmer air comes in, but temperatures in the 60s, told you, not just me saying that. there's tonight. you see the rain all across the area, but by morning nobody is reporting rain. nobody is reporting temperatures below freezing. now, it's not going to warm up a lot tomorrow, but it is going to be warm enough so that it's just rain and no freezing. we go from 48 high on wednesday to 65 thursday. back down to 43 in philadelphia after a friday afternoon. the wednesday rain, that's the wednesday night that we showed you on the future radar. even lehigh valley in the mid 50s on thursday and parts of delaware get into the mid 60s. more on the threat for the weekend in a little bit. >> living on debbie reynolds died from a type of stroke that causes bleeding in the brain. high blood pressure was listed as an underlying cause. reynolds died last month a day after her daughter carrie fisher died. fisher's death certificate lists the causes of death as cardiac arrest deferred. deferred usually means the coroner is waiting for more test results, like toxicology reports. the actress best
