Evans families are loud, proud. The superintendent says the move will save the district more than 1. 4 million per year. The zika virus arrived in philadelphia today officially. Confirmed the first cases of the virus. The patient is a 60yearold woman. She recently travelled to the caribbean and contracted the virus. The virus is linked to severe birth defects. But were told she was never hospitalized and is already recovering. In pennsylvania, there have been five confirmed cases of the zika virus. Two in new jersey and one confirmed case in delaware. From the delaware bureau, residents took to the streets in protest of a natural gas power plant to be built along route 301 and sent a petition with hundreds of signatures to the mayor and town council asking for a Public Meeting to learn more about the project but they say that request has been denied so far. Investigative reporter Harry Hairston found allegations that the school is not being forthcoming with information that might impact student safety. Reporter i have the documents backing up that claim. These reports i received through a right to know request show how many times cops taken Illegal Drugs from villanova. At the request of the university. Problem is thats about all the records show. Pills, marijuana and druglaced food. The contraband picked up. Does villanova have a problem throughout . They do. There a es an ongoing problem for years now. Reporter he tells us its police force has problems with the way the university is handling drugs on campus. Theres no names attached to them. So you have to be underreporting. I dont see how theres any other way around it except you have to be underreporting. Reporter these are Police Reports made when picking uppar. Where you expect a narrative of who was responsible and how it was found, police say the university supplies little useful information. Theres a fair amount of drugs being located on the campus. Where thats the question. Reporter radner Township Police chief block tells us his Department Needs more information so it can investigate. The concerning part for Law Enforcement is that, yes, it might seem minor at the time. Dealing with this amount, small amount of marijuana, but it could be considered to the broken windows theory leads to more dangerous drugs in brought on to the campus. Stamford hall. Reporter two weeks ago, two students and a minor overdosed on lsd. Cops arrested a nova freshman for selling the drugs and found 9,000 in the dorm room. Everybody should be concerned about that, lsd on a College Campus and being sold to other students on the campus and the evidence is there. Reporter the director of Public Safety agreed to talk with us about how they deal with Illegal Drugs on campus and also the relationship with radner Township Police and how they report drugs but less than an hour before the interview was to take place the University Backed out. The university did send a statement saying in part it has a strong drug policy and students found in violation are held accountable and says it works closely with Radnor Police through a longstanding and mutuallyagreed process to handle incidents involving drugs and say it is comments of Radnor Police are a surprise and frankly disappointing. Students we spoke with expressed concerns over underreporting. That level of who is esty that the administration has with us. Certainly, certainly concerning. But once again, i believe in Radnor Police and conduct the investigation to the fullest they can. Reporter the township believes the university continues to underreport and the drug problem will get worse. If you think there isnt a problem on the campus, i think thats a problem. Reporter we kept digging and found villanova drug incidents reported to the feds as part of a mandated program. 2013 and 2014, the school reported 16 drug arrests. Over two years, there were 92 drug referrals, referrals incidents resolved through the university and not involving the police. A High School Student is under arrest accused of selling marijuana laced brownies that ended up in the hands of middle school students. Police say Jacob Francisco admitted selling five of the brownies last week. They were eventually resold by a student at shaffer middle school. Police identified others that bought or ate the brownies. The u. S. Justice department cannot force apple to provide the fbi with access to data from a lost iphone in a brooklyn drug case, a federal judges ruling today and this comes just days after apple challenged a court order to help the fbi unlock the iphone belonging to one of the San Bernardino terrorists. App apple stance prompted a national debate. Tomorrow the director of the fbi will appear at a congressional hearing on the subject. A win for chain restaurants in new york city today. And pretty warm early wednesday morning when it may be wet for the beginning of the rush hour and then it dries out quickly and temperatures go down during the day on evening as we clear out. The wind picks up. Then we watch to the west to see this next storm system. And it is possible. It may track close enough to bring snow up into our area, especially delaware and south jersey. Some newest computer models just in going along with that. Continued threat for at least some snow. Maybe even measurable accumulating snow in parts of the area.
