let's go to sheena. how does it look? >> it looks pretty good. we're going to stay nice and dry as we go through the day tomorrow. so here is your thanksgiving day forecast. really no matter where you're going to be, we expect a mix of sun and clouds out there. in the philadelphia area, by 9:00 tomorrow morning, around 44 degrees. by noon, close to 57. lehigh valley, you could be in the upper 30s by 9:00 a.m. near 60 degrees by noon. areas in south jersey, even delaware, mid 40s by 9:00, 53 around noon. when we go through the afternoon hours, we'll be warmer than today. we're going to be topping out in the low 60s for most of the area. but again, staying nice and dry, so this is good if you're traveling. even warmer as we go into friday. look at the temperatures outside right now, if you maybe are heading out in a little bit here, even though it is getting later outside. temperatures, mid-30s in potstown, millville and atlantic city. a chilly start tomorrow morning, but a warmer day. a closer look at the forecast and black friday shopping and rain this weekend. >> a pennsylvania state trooper who was shot in the shoulder is back home tonight. trooper patrickóg casey left a hospital today in good spirits. >> i just want to thank everybody for all their prayers and support. happy to be going home for thanksgiving. let's go, eagles. >> casey was shot during a chase that ended in a fiery crash on the vine street expressway yesterday. a bullet is still lodged in his shoulder, but doctors expect him to make a full recovery. the alleged shooter, a 17-year-old, is now charged with attempted murder. >> a philadelphia homeless man in a coma since april when he was attacked and beaten at a gas station, has died. robert barnes passed away from his injuries today. a group of six people was seen on surveillance video beating barnes. it happened after one of the suspect's children lied and said barnes hit him. three juveniles have already been sentences for the attack. while three women rejected a plea deal in september. their trials on attempted murder, aggravated assault and other charges are set for january. the charges are expected to be upgraded. >> police in west philadelphia are investigating a shooter. a man in his 40s was shot in the head near 51st and pentridge street. this was around 6:00 this night. the man is expected to survive, and there have been no arrests. >> protests continue tonight in chicago in the wake of the release of dashcam video showing a police officer shooting to death a teenager armed with a knife. protesters outraged by the footage and by officials taking more than a year to release the video took to the streets of downtown chicago, blocking traffic. five people were arrested in protests last night after a confrontation with police on city streets. tonight's protests have so far remains peaceful. >> the stage is set for a vote by lawmakers on pennsylvania attorney general kathleen cane's future. they voted to let the full senate decide on the attorney general's fate. senate hearings could start in two weeks. they'll center on whether she can do her job with a suspended law license as she fights charges for allegedly leaking grand jury testimony and lying under oath about it. >> we need an attorney general who doesn't have a giant cloud over her head. >> considering whether or not to remove an elected office is very significant. >> kane released a statement saying she will fight her removal. she believes it's unconstitutional. >> the family of frank gifford said he was suffering from a traumatic brain injury who he died. he said signs of chronic traumatic encephlofying was found in his brain. it's lijed to the types of brain injuries and head trauma common in football. he died in august at the age of 84. his widow, kathie lee gifford, is a host for nbc's today. >> we have a warning about an e. coli links to costco's chicken salad. it's blamed for 19 cases in 7 states. the strain may be connected to an onion and celery mix connected to sulinas, california. it was sold in late october and early november. that is a surprise reunion just in time for the thanksgiving holiday. the story of how an ordinary man saved a life and became a hero. it's arguably the heaviest drinking night of the year. i'm keith jones. i'll tell you why this breath aliezer right here could get some patrons a free ride tonight. and the new surveillance video that could solve the mystery of a baby found in a manger in new york. >> and we have a warm-up just in time for your thanksgiving day. coming up, we'll take a look at how warm it will get, possible new record highs before the weekend, and our chance of rain coming up. you're kidding me, right? >> tomorrow it's going to be warmer than today. a good 10 degrees possibly in some spots, and then wait until we get to black friday. we could see some near record high temperatures, so a warm-up just in time for thanksgiving. unseasonably warm. especially as we go into friday. where it will be warmer than thanksgiving day. over 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. then we're going to be watching weekend showers. there is rain in part of the weekend forecast. here's a live look out near a lot of the major interstates. 76 and 676, and we're still seeing traffic. as far as tomorrow is concerned with any traffic that's around, rirt still going to be cool when you start your morning right around sunrise. temperatures in some spots will be in the 30s. then by the early afternoon, that's when we should be topping out in the low 60s. so through the day tomorrow, it is going to be warmer. today, we got to 55 degrees. tomorrow, 62. then we go into friday, 67 degrees, the average high is 52 degrees. so we could see some near record high temperatures friday. take a look, allentown, reading, mt. pocono, atlantic city, we could be close to record highs. you can see how close we'll be to a lot of these record highs around the area. so warm as we end the week. locally, nice and dry. perfect travel weather. all because of the big area of high pressure giving us more of a south wind tomorrow, and that's what will be warming us up. if you look across the northeast to the mid-atlantic. even through the southeast, we have good travel weather for your thanksgiving day. here's future weather. we start off with sunshine tomorrow. we'll see a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon and it will be warmer. at the same time, we have a big storm system brewing in the middle of the country from the midwest gown to parts of texas. travel delays likely. stormy weather with icy and snowy weather the farther north you get of the system. but even through friday, we still manage to stay dry. it's not until saturday, that's going to be our next rain chance moving into the area. if you're going shopping for black friday, you don't have to worry about the rain by then. around midnight, king of prussia or cherry hill, temperature should be close to 50, by noon, around the low 60s. definitely a warm shopping day for you. for tonight, clear and chilly. temperatures about the upper 30s, philadelphia. low 30s north and west. tomorrow for thanksgiving day, a mix of sun and clouds. temperatures topping out in the low 60s. warmer for friday, 67 degrees by saturday. we drop about 10 degrees with a chance of showers. rain lingering south possibly on sunday. but overall, this is not a very cold forecast. it's actually going to look pretty nice. >> thank you very much. coming up in sports, the sixers are marching toward another dubious record, but could their losing skid end tonight? >> tomorrow it's going to be warmer than today. a good 10 degrees possibly in some spots, and then wait until we get to black friday. we could see some near record high temperatures, so a warm-up just in time for thanksgiving. unseasonably warm. especially as we go into friday. where it will be warmer than thanksgiving day. over 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. then we're going to be watching weekend showers. there is rain in part of the weekend forecast. here's a live look out near a lot of the major interstates. 76 and 676, and we're still seeing traffic. as far as tomorrow is concerned with any traffic that's around, rirt still going to be cool when you start your morning right around sunrise. temperatures in some spots will be in the 30s. then by the early afternoon, that's when we should be topping out in the low 60s. so through the day tomorrow, it is going to be warmer. today, we got to 55 degrees. tomorrow, 62. then we go into friday, 67 degrees, the average high is 52 degrees. so we could see some near record high temperatures friday. take a look, allentown, reading, mt. pocono, atlantic city, we could be close to record highs. you can see how close we'll be to a lot of these record highs around the area. so warm as we end the week. locally, nice and dry. perfect travel weather. all because of the big area of high pressure giving us more of a south wind tomorrow, and that's what will be warming us up. if you look across the northeast to the mid-atlantic. even through the southeast, we have good travel weather for your thanksgiving day. here's future weather. we start off with sunshine tomorrow. we'll see a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon and it will be warmer. at the same time, we have a big storm system brewing in the middle of the country from the midwest gown to parts of texas. travel delays likely. stormy weather with icy and snowy weather the farther north you get of the system. but even through friday, we still manage to stay dry. it's not until saturday, that's going to be our next rain chance moving into the area. if you're going shopping for black friday, you don't have to worry about the rain by then. around midnight, king of prussia or cherry hill, temperature should be close to 50, by noon, around the low 60s. definitely a warm shopping day for you. for tonight, clear and chilly. temperatures about the upper 30s, philadelphia. low 30s north and west. tomorrow for thanksgiving day, a mix of sun and clouds. temperatures topping out in the low 60s. warmer for friday, 67 degrees by saturday. we drop about 10 degrees with a chance of showers. rain lingering south possibly on sunday. but overall, this is not a very cold forecast. it's actually going to look pretty nice. >> thank you very much. coming up in sports, the sixers are marching toward another dubious record, but could their losing skid end tonight?
