Intelligence estimated and the willingness to fight them was weaker than thought. Against that back drop, the agency is trying to build a Multi National force on the air and on the ground capable of destroying the militant group. That job on the ground has largely rested in the hands of kurdish fighters. Well hear from the president in a moment, but first Richard Engel takes us into a battle long on emotion and short on results. Reporter the presbyterian released footage of a new air strike against isis this weekend. To defend the only allies there, the kurdish people. For weeks isis have been using heavy military to drive home kurds. There is a field overlooking the area where many kurds come to watch the fighting. They bring binoculars to see the action. This is what they are looking at. Down below are homes controlled by isis. When the kurdish fighters come down to the isis, the people cheer. Smoke rises as isis fires artillery at the kurdish. A few moments ago a group from here decided they couldnt be observers any more and decided they would run to the fight.
