hour, even in july. 77 degrees in northeast philadelphia. wilmington 77 degrees. the numbers will be climbing into the 90s. we saw 90s yesterday but it will be hotter today. 8:00 this morning, 80 degrees by lunch time, up to 90 and still climbing. we'll see middle 90s. that will feel more like 100 to 103 this afternoon. steamyness could fuel showers and thunderstorms later in the day. we'll go through it hour by hour when i come back to show you what to expect. first, jillian mele has your traffic. >> starting off in the lehigh valley with a live look at route 22 at airport road. 22 is quiet, 78 looks good, so does the northeast extension. heading to chester county, route 30 bypass is clear as can be. that's the eastbound side near route 322. no delays, no problems on the 30 bypass. route 202, 95 and 76 also looking pretty good. across the board, the average speeds in the 50s and 60s. 55 is what we're seeing on ç76 and the blue route. 65 is the average on the pennsylvania turnpike. keep in mind if you are traveling through center city philadelphia, the 5th street tunnel still closed as a result of construction until roughly 2:00 this afternoon. that's right at the base of the ben franklin bridge. bridges are clear. so far, so good on mass transit. vai? >> thank you, jillian. two teenagers are among the five people who were shot in chester. nbc 10's katy zachry is live outside the chester police department. katy, tell us what you know right now. >> reporter: so detectives were on scene right at the 1400 block of congress street where this all broke out just shortly after midnight. they were there for several hours and came back here to the chester police department. they were able to piece together what happened and give us the latest information. let's take a look at our video. police say when they arrived at the consistent, the 1400 block of congress street, they found five people injured, two of them teenagers, a 14-year-old boy an a 14-year-old girl. those teens were shot in the foot and the leg. officers also found three adult men who were shot. the victims were all taken to crozer-chester medical center where we understand they're in stable condition. from the bullet katings on the ground there were at least eight to ten shots fired. and police learned from witnesses who were there, the group of people, the group of victims were standing around, talking, playing on a basketball court when gunfire came from the direction of 8th and tillman streets, an intersection not far away from the scene where police found the victims. everyone ran for cover and in the process, those five individuals were shot. we understand no arrests have been made. police are right now looking for the people responsible. if you have any information, give them a call. reporting live outside chester police, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. also new from overnight, police are looking for the gunman who shot two women children 11:30 last night in west philadelphia. both women were sitting on the front porch when they opened fire. two people remain in critical condition this morning following this food truck explosion caught on camera that injured a dozen people. check out the video caught by surveillance camera. you see the food truck there just exploding. the blast sent a propane tank flying 150 feet into a neighbor's backyard. it burned cars and power lines along the way. this happened yesterday on wyoming avenue near 3rd street in feltonville. police say a woman and her mother were working the food truck at the time when the propane tank burst into flames. >> i heard a loud boom like a bomb, just a loud boom. i turned around and this truck just started instantly smoking, instantly smoking. you heard screams, like deafening, hurt, pain type screams. >> four people remain hospitalized, including the mother and daughter who were working inside the truck. both of them are listed in critical condition. 6:05. philadelphia police are trying to track down the man who was accused of stuffing his mother's body in a freezer. the discovery was made yesterday at a home on lee street in hadn'ting park after a family tipped off police. according to another family member, the suspect told them his 83-year-old mother died of natural causes in january. investigators believe he's been cashing her social security check since then. an autopsy will be done to determine how she died. police in new castle county are hoping someone can help track down a woman who was possibly abducted. a witness told new castle county police that someone forced 33-year-old nefertiri trader into her car on freedom trail in saddlebrook. this happened early monday morning. she was last seen leaving her neighborhood in a car similar to this one, a 2000 silver acura rl with delaware plates. a day care worker is charged with leaving five children in a car with the air conditioner on while she went shopping. they were 6 months to 9 years ç old, they were left for at least 20 minutes inside the suv while she was shopping inside a shoprite in port richmond. among the charges, endangering the welfare of children. happening today, the atlantic city boys and girls summer club -- the boys and girls club, rather, summer camp will be opening. it was $150,000 in debt. the former "philadelphia inquirer" owner louis katz and others donated the money to keep it going. katz and six others were killed in a crash shortly after he donated the funds. now your first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> six 76 degrees and cape may at 75. the temperatures are fairly close. inland areas, center city we'll see enough sunshine to warm temperatures into the middle 90s today. not much of a cooling breeze blowing. radar screen clear for our area. there's a line of showers, doesn't look like much but this is a line that once things start to heat up in the atmosphere, this line will fire up and it will be moving toward our area the future weather shows the storms will be taking shape during the afternoon hours. first north and west, the pocono mountains, portions of lehigh valley into lancaster county, chester county at 2:00 this afternoon might see rainç drop. even late this afternoon, the activity is still well off to the north and west. then during the evening hours, it's on the move. we could see strong storms move through the philadelphia area during the evening hours. heavy rainfall is possible and strong, gusty winds. neighborhood by neighborhood, looking for 80s this afternoon, upper 80s for the pocono mountains, low 90s for allentown, quakertown and reading. late day showers and thunderstorms for trenton, northeast philadelphia, mount holly, all into the middle 90s today. looking for relief, the coastline will be warmer compared to yesterday when it was in the 70s. 80s for atlantic city and cape may, rehoboth 84 degrees and the 90s inland, the i-95 corridor will feel like 100 degrees or a bit more as temperatures reach into the middle 90s for wilmington and chester. 9 for voorhees. storms later today. heavy rainfall. >> just about 6:10 this wednesday morning. i'm this is the westbound side as drivers just make their way past city avenue heading out to belmont avenue. 76 is also looking good right now. as are all of the majors, no delays to report on 422. route 14-year-old corinthian hammond was pulled under by a rip current. the coast guard has suspended its search. and two shooting suspects were caught on camera and philadelphia police help you know who they are. you can see the guys chasing the victim last wednesday on wharton street near 17th street in point breeze. the victim was shot in the leg. the gunmen took off in a silver colored car. and right now in the oscar pistorius murder trial, the final witness is testifying. this is video of pistorius arriving at court in pretoria earlier this morning. the jury is hearing from a doctor who treats the south african paralympic team. they're discussing pistorius's psychological profile. he's accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend reeva steenkamp. he says he thought she was an intruder. happening today, two civil cases involving accused killer aaron hernandez go to court in massachusetts. the former new england patriots tight end is charged in a double murder back in 2012. the victims' families are suing him. he pleaded not guilty in that case and also to murder of a semipro football player last summer. crews in california are battling a growing wildfire in the napa valley that now burned more than 2700 acres. roads are closed and nearly 200 homes have been evacuated. buildings are damaged, no injuries reported. graco is extending a recall on car seats to include nearly 2 million infant seats. they recalled 4 million toddler seats because the harness buckles can get gummed up by food and drink. that makes it hard to get kids out. 6:16. out. ma the door to it's been out there for awe phi days. there is road work going on, inspection of that tunnel. you can see the bridge in this picture. that bridge is in the clear. we're not reporting any issues or warmer this morning and sunshine falling on center city, that's a live view from the adventure aquarium. currently 76 degrees in philadelphia. we should be in the 60s at this hour, running 3 degrees warmer than yesterday. and a hazy view of center city, hot, humid conditions will feel like 100 this afternoon, possibly more. tomorrow a different story, not as hot. in part because of the moisture coming up the cst from tropical storm arthur. arthur has strengthed, 60 miles an hour now. moving faster to the north at 6 miles an hour that will keep it off the florida coastline but headed for the carolinas. that moisture as it comes up the coast will be part of our weather. this is the tropics first thing friday morning. you can see the storm centered off the north carolina coast but spreading moisture into our area on the fourth of july. the first moisture arriving late in the day tomorrow with heavier rainfall. late friday we'll see clearing north and west. the storm will pass by us offshore. stays far enougz off the coast, we won't see much wind. there's still the potential for rain even during the late afternoon and early evening hours at the shore before that one heads out to sea. for today, late day showers and thunderstorms for most of the i-95 corridor, hold off until this evening. north and west you can see them develop during the middle afternoon hours. tomorrow, not as hot but heavy rainfall, especially during the afternoon and evening hours as arthur comes up the coast and a cold front comes in from the west. that cold front will clear things out north and west for friday. and it looks good for philadelphia, for fireworks friday evening after a rainy start. the rain will be ending, 82 degrees, the high temperature on friday. then stand by. we're doing it arthur on the move and expected to turn into a hurricane as it moves up the coast from florida. here's a live look from north carolina where about an hour ago, a hurricane watch was issued there for alert weather center. >> it's a steamier morning and a warmer one, too. we should cool into the 60s this time of year. we're in the 70s right now, heading for the 90s this afternoon. which is what we saw yesterday. but it's definitely hazier this morning. that's a live view from the loews hotel. this is a first alert weather day because of the high heat. the temperatures will feel like 100 plus this afternoon. as you mentioned, a chance of severe weather late this afternoon and this evening. it could bring heavy rain and gusty winds today. right now, temperatures as you're moving out the door are in the upper 70s in wilmington, 77 in both those locations. even 70s in the pocono mountains this morning. sunshine, hazy conditions, high humidity. by lunch time it will be hot, 91 degrees. 95 degrees at 4:00. may even top out a little bit warmer than that. we'll be watching for late-day storms. the future weather, your neighborhood by neighborhood forecast when i come back. first, jillian mele is watching traffic on a wednesday morning. >> good wednesday morning to you, bill. at 6:30, we have an accident in cheltenham township. this is a vehicle into a pole. norristown, we still have a water main break, elm street at astor street. no delays on the blue route. this is a live look at 476 near baltimore pike. traffic is moving along just fine in both directions. your drive times are looking really good on the blue route between 76 and 95. it will take you about 17, 18 minutes. no issues or accidents to report on the northeast extension. we're still accident-free for drivers in new jersey and delaware. new from overnight, this is the scene of a double shooting in newark, delaware at the village windover apartment complex. two men were shot just before midnight. they were rushed to the hospital and we're still working to find out how seriously they were hurt. police are looking for three men seen leaving the scene. new from overnight, investigators are looking for the gunman who opened fire in chester that left five people hurt there. it happened just after midnight on the 1400 block of western congress street. two 14-year-olds and three adults were shot. they are all listed in stable condition. police are looking for the gunman who shot two women in west philadelphia. this happened on north fallon street. both women were sitting on a front porch when the shooter opened fire. one victim is in critical condition, the other listed in stable condition. today investigators are looking for the cause of a food truck explosion that injured a dozen people. the blast sent up a ball of flames in the city's feltonville neighborhood. you can see it happen in the surveillance video. jesse gary is live at the scene this morning. >> reporter: new information for you at this hour. philadelphia police say a tow truck will be arriving on scene around 8:00 thisç morning. it's going to tow this charred wreckage from this food truck to another location, possibly the philadelphia bomb squad where the investigation will begin in ernest. you can see a lot of debris still on the corner along with the food truck here at the corner of north 3rd and west wyoming. surveillance video from a nearby business showing passing cars around the time of the explosion, 5:30 yesterday afternoon. the blast from the food truck shot flames about 200 feet into the air which engulfed passing cars, neighboring homes and businesses in this section of feltonville were shaken on their foundation. 12 people injured. >> the propane splashed all the way across the street on that pole. that's why the pole was on fire. a person walking by got burnt, one lady on her face. >> i checked with police who say the two people inside the truck at the time of the blast are in critical condition at temple university hospital. a 13-year-old girl is at st. christopher's hospital, she's been upgraded from critical to stable and a 23-year-old woman is in temple university hospital, also in critical and has also been upgraded to stable condition. that's the latest, live in feltonville this morning. jesse gary, nbc 10 news. 6:33. new this morning, bail has been reduced for the woman shown on video beating up another woman in front of the victim's toddler in salem county. harris is still behind bars but her bail has been reduced from $35,000 to 20,000. she surrendered to authorities on monday night. authorities say harris is the woman in this video beating another woman in front of the victim's 2-year-old son. behind a salem county mcdonald's where they both worked last week. the victim told nbc 10 it's because she talked about harris's love life. new information from overnight in the battle over the proposed cigarette tax which would help fund the philadelphia school district. our sources in harrisburg are telling us that the cigarette tax is basically on life support right now. a house committee pulledç the x from a key amendment. that means the house may not vote on the cigarette tax today and it may never pass. the philadelphia delegation will spend today fighting for that tax and the school money it would bring. >> there's tough feelings between senate and house, tough feelings between parties and the governor. >> as they say, it ain't over till it's over. the philadelphia delegation here in the house is going to work extremely hard to get the bipartisan support needed. >> we're certainly not going to give up or slow down. i'm here, i'm going to stay here and continue to fight for children. in philadelphia. >> as for the state budget, pennsylvania governor tom corbett said that he is holding off the signing the spending plan. he wants lawmakers to reduce public pension payments to free up the money. the state budget deadline was monday night. the state can operate under the current budget for the next week with government services up and running as normal. happening today, a bucks county synagogue is inviting the commune to the remember the three israeli teens who were kidnapped and murdered. they will hold a memorial service tonight. the bodies of 16-year-old neftali fraenkel who has relatives in ocean county and two others were found monday nearly three weeks after they disappeared. meantime, thousands attended the funeral for the teens, including israel's president and prime minister. more air strikes were carried out yesterday on dozens of suspected hamas positions on the gaza strip. more help is on the way for new jersey communities still recovering from hurricane sandy. the hurricane sandy new jersey relief fund is granting 2 new grants worth $7.3 million. it's working with nonprofit groups that provide housing assistance, legal counseling and social and mental services. so far, though, the fund has given out nearly 3 million. given out nearly $34 million. temperatures are about to climb from the 70s in the 90s. a hazy view of center city from the adventure aquarium. that front on the way with a potential for severe weather late this afternoon and this evening. for now, that line of showers and thunderstorms doesn't look all that bad. it's off to the north and west. the atmosphere has yet to heat up. and it will be heating up. this line will be on the move, arriving in the lehigh valley, the pocono mountains, possibly early to midafternoon today. we'll see the storms taking shape off to the north and west. most of the day it will be sunshine for philadelphia. here's 2:00 this afternoon. see some of the storms in the pocono mountains, the lehigh valley, the phi spots in lancaster and berks county. heavier downpours possible in the early evening hours. still dry for delaware and south jersey. that line will be moving into the i-95 corridor. there is a still a pretty quiet morning. we have an accident in cheltenham, a water main break in norristown. mass transit is on time. accident in cheltenham, a vehicle into a pole near willow grove avenue. norristown, elm street at astor street, a water main break. use caution. this is 76 near the conshohocken curve. pockets of volume but it's moving for the most part. your drive time, not too bad on 76 between the blue route and the vine, 17 to 18 minutes. the big slowdown on 76 is just in this area westbound right near city avenue is where we're seeing speeds around 30 miles per hour. 12 miles per hour is the average speed right now on 95. that's southbound right near girard. this is a live look at the roosevelt boulevard. you can see a little bit of the sun glare out there this morning. the boulevard is looking good the entire length. vai? conviction overturned in the former police officer known as the can ball cop is a free man. the key piece of evidence, a judge says was missing from this afternoon. details from meteorologist bill henley. police are looking for two people wanted for robbing a liquor store and assaulting two workers on the way out. investigators released these surveillance pictures of the two suspects, the robbery happened at carpenter liquors in wilmington on sunday. police say the owner and an employee caught the two stealing alcohol but the suspects sprayed them with pepper spray and got away. a former new york city police officer is out of jail this morning after his conviction in a cannibalism plot was overturned. a judge agreed with attorneys for valley that his conversations in fetish chat rooms about cannibalizing women were fantasy role playing. his wife called the fbi after she fond the disturbing material on his computer. >> is guilty of nothing more than very unconventional thoughts. he has validated we don't put people in jail for their thoughts. we are not the thought police. >> reporter: valle is serving home detention, must seek counseling and stay offç computers. federal prosecutors are challenging the defense request to move the trial of dzhokhar tsarnaev to washington, d.c. they say tsarnaev can get a fair trial in boston. he has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges. investigators say tsarnaev and his brother planted two bombs that exploded near the 2013 finish line killing three people and injuring more than 260 others. his brother died after a shootout with police. in asking that the trial be moved, defense lawyers noted that the trial of oklahoma city bomber timothy mcveigh was moved to denver. prosecutors agreed to the mcvey change of venue because the bombing damaged the federal courthouse. >> 6:44 in the crisis in iraq, a few hundred u.s. troops arriving in iraq will determine if that nation's security forces can hold together in the face of a terrorist threat. that's the word from the joint chiefs chairman general martin dempsey. he said that some of the 750 u.s. troops sent to iraq will decide how to help the nation fight sunni insurgents. dempsey said the way iraqi citizens are included in any new government that's formed will help determine u.s. policy. happening today, the libyan militia leader charged in the benghazi attacks has a detention hearing in washington. a public defender for ahmed abu khattala entered a not guilty plea. he's accused of supervising the attack that killed an ambassador and three americans. in nigeria, we now have video. the terror group that kidnapped hundreds of school girls is suspected in that bombing and nigeria's military says it arrested a number of militants linked to the group. at least 20 died in the explosion yesterday. the blast damaged several buildings and vehicles. in ukraine, a cease-fire is over and fighting has resumed. ukrainian forces are again pounding away at rebel bases and checkpoints with air and artillery strikes. skirmishes between ukrainianç troops and pro-russian separatists broke out in several towns. ukraine's president proposed the cease-fire but said he would not renew it. the obama administration is trying to figure out what to do with hundreds of women and children from central america who were blocked from entering the facility in california. the first wave of women and children flown in from texas blocked by protesters in southern california. secretary of state john kerry asked see severe weather develop in pe philadelphia area. arthur is going to be moving up the coast and could impact your fourth of july plans. right now, 76 degrees. scattered hazy conditions, scattered the north and west will be arriving later today. this is what we're watching that will be moving up the coast. it's already strengthened tropical storm arthur now with 60 mile-an-hour winds is moving orth 6 miles an hour gt carolinas and as it moves rdlina, ncawillbeintensifying. by early tomorrow morning expe t category 1 hurricane impacting the north carolina coast where hurricane watches are already in effect at 2:00 a.m. on friday. and at that hour, they'll be spreading wet weather into our area and passing offshore early saturday morning. but as it moves up the coastline, we could see some pretty good rip currents along the coastline. that will be a big threat for the holiday weekend. the weather will be improving quite a bit. today, 82 degrees along the coast lien. tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms. rip currents are going to be an issue for thursday. but friday, especially, and into the weekend as well. the chance of showers will be tapering off for friday for the out, the grupp scattered. they were hanging out on a basketball court. as they were running away, five of them were injured. let's go to the video. it happened just after midnight on the 1400 block of congress street. a 14-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were among those injured. they were shot in the foot and the leg. three adult men were also shot. all were taken to crozer-chester medical center where we understand they are in stable condition. police are still look for the person or people responsible. if you have any information, call chester police. reporting live outside the police department, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. four are in the hospital, two in critical condition following a food truck explosion in philadelphia's feltonville section. investigators are looking for the cause of that blast. jesse gary is at the scene. >> reporter: they'll bring a tow truck out here in the next hour or so and tow this charred wreckage. take a look at surveillance video from yesterday, nearby businesses showing passing cars at 5:30 in the afternoon. flames shot about 300 feet in the air. it rattled neighboring homes and businesses. 12 people were injured, four critically. two of the hour, even in july. 77 degrees in northeast philadelphia. wilmington 77 degrees. the numbers will be climbing into the 90s. we saw 90s yesterday but it will be hotter today. 8:00 this morning, 80 degrees by lunch time, up to 90 and still climbing. we'll see middle 90s. that will feel more like 100 to 103 this afternoon. steamyness could fuel showers and thunderstorms later in the day. we'll go through it hour by hour when i come back to show you what to expect. first, jillian mele has your traffic. >> starting off in the lehigh valley with a live look at route 22 at airport road. 22 is quiet, 78 looks good, so does the northeast extension. heading to chester county, route 30 bypass is clear as can be. that's the eastbound side near route 322. no delays, no problems on the 30 bypass. route 202, 95 and 76 also looking pretty good. across the board, the average speeds in the 50s and 60s. 55 is what we're seeing on ç76 and the blue route. 65 is the average on the pennsylvania turnpike. keep in mind if you are traveling through center city philadelphia, the 5th street tunnel still closed as a result of construction until roughly 2:00 this afternoon. that's right at the base of the ben franklin bridge. bridges are clear. so far, so good on mass transit. vai? >> thank you, jillian. two teenagers are among the five people who were shot in chester. nbc 10's katy zachry is live outside the chester police department. katy, tell us what you know right now. >> reporter: so detectives were on scene right at the 1400 block of congress street where this all broke out just shortly after midnight. they were there for several hours and came back here to the chester police department. they were able to piece together what happened and give us the latest information. let's take a look at our video. police say when they arrived at the consistent, the 1400 block of congress street, they found five people injured, two of them teenagers, a 14-year-old boy an a 14-year-old girl. those teens were shot in the foot and the leg. officers also found three adult men who were shot. the victims were all taken to crozer-chester medical center where we understand they're in stable condition. from the bullet katings on the ground there were at least eight to ten shots fired. and police learned from witnesses who were there, the group of people, the group of victims were standing around, talking, playing on a basketball court when gunfire came from the direction of 8th and tillman streets, an intersection not far away from the scene where police found the victims. everyone ran for cover and in the process, those five individuals were shot. we understand no arrests have been made. police are right now looking for the people responsible. if you have any information, give them a call. reporting live outside chester police, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. also new from overnight, police are looking for the gunman who shot two women children 11:30 last night in west philadelphia. both women were sitting on the front porch when they opened fire. two people remain in critical condition this morning following this food truck explosion caught on camera that injured a dozen people. check out the video caught by surveillance camera. you see the food truck there just exploding. the blast sent a propane tank flying 150 feet into a neighbor's backyard. it burned cars and power lines along the way. this happened yesterday on wyoming avenue near 3rd street in feltonville. police say a woman and her mother were working the food truck at the time when the propane tank burst into flames. >> i heard a loud boom like a bomb, just a loud boom. i turned around and this truck just started instantly smoking, instantly smoking. you heard screams, like deafening, hurt, pain type screams. >> four people remain hospitalized, including the mother and daughter who were working inside the truck. both of them are listed in critical condition. 6:05. philadelphia police are trying to track down the man who was accused of stuffing his mother's body in a freezer. the discovery was made yesterday at a home on lee street in hadn'ting park after a family tipped off police. according to another family member, the suspect told them his 83-year-old mother died of natural causes in january. investigators believe he's been cashing her social security check since then. an autopsy will be done to determine how she died. police in new castle county are hoping someone can help track down a woman who was possibly abducted. a witness told new castle county police that someone forced 33-year-old nefertiri trader into her car on freedom trail in saddlebrook. this happened early monday morning. she was last seen leaving her neighborhood in a car similar to this one, a 2000 silver acura rl with delaware plates. a day care worker is charged with leaving five children in a car with the air conditioner on while she went shopping. they were 6 months to 9 years ç old, they were left for at least 20 minutes inside the suv while she was shopping inside a shoprite in port richmond. among the charges, endangering the welfare of children. happening today, the atlantic city boys and girls summer club -- the boys and girls club, rather, summer camp will be opening. it was $150,000 in debt. the former "philadelphia inquirer" owner louis katz and others donated the money to keep it going. katz and six others were killed in a crash shortly after he donated the funds. now your first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> six minutes after 6:00. it's a steamy start, the humidity higher. the temperatures hotter this afternoon. it will feel like 100 degrees or even a bit more later today. heat and humidity likely to fuel strong storms, possibly severe weather late this afternoon and this evening. and this fourth of july, we could see wet weather. arthur is coming up the coastline. not expecting a direct hit. certainly in our area. it will be well offshore. the carolinas are at risk of seeing hurricane strength winds. 73 degrees in doylestown, sunshine just a few scattered clouds, hazy conditions for philadelphia. 76 degrees and cape may at 75. the temperatures are fairly close. inland areas, center city we'll see enough sunshine to warm temperatures into the middle 90s today. not much of a cooling breeze blowing. radar screen clear for our area. there's a line of showers, doesn't look like much but this is a line that once things start to heat up in the atmosphere, this line will fire up and it will be moving toward our area the future weather shows the storms will be taking shape during the afternoon hours. first north and west, the pocono mountains, portions of lehigh valley into lancaster county, chester county at 2:00 this afternoon might see rainç drop. even late this afternoon, the activity is still well off to the north and west. then during the evening hours, it's on the move. we could see strong storms move through the philadelphia area during the evening hours. heavy rainfall is possible and strong, gusty winds. neighborhood by neighborhood, looking for 80s this afternoon, upper 80s for the pocono mountains, low 90s for allentown, quakertown and reading. late day showers and thunderstorms for trenton, northeast philadelphia, mount holly, all into the middle 90s today. looking for relief, the coastline will be warmer compared to yesterday when it was in the 70s. 80s for atlantic city and cape may, rehoboth 84 degrees and the 90s inland, the i-95 corridor will feel like 100 degrees or a bit more as temperatures reach into the middle 90s for wilmington and chester. 9 for voorhees. storms later today. heavy rainfall. >> just about 6:10 this wednesday morning. i'm typically around 6:00, this is the camera where we start to see the delay. but as you can see, traffic is moving along just fine. brave time 15 minutes both ways on 95. the vine is clear, 76 is clear. this is the westbound side as drivers just make their way past city avenue heading out to belmont avenue. 76 is also looking good right now. as are all of the majors, no delays to report on 422. route 1 in bucks county is clear. route 1 as far asç the rooseve boulevard, that's also clear. no accidents to report. keep in mind we have that closure right now on 495. tracy? 6:10 right now. parents, 14-year-old corinthian hammond was pulled under by a rip current. the coast guard has suspended its search. and two shooting suspects were caught on camera and philadelphia police help you know who they are. you can see the guys chasing the victim last wednesday on wharton street near 17th street in point breeze. the victim was shot in the leg. the gunmen took off in a silver colored car. and right now in the oscar pistorius murder trial, the final witness is testifying. this is video of pistorius arriving at court in pretoria earlier this morning. the jury is hearing from a doctor who treats the south african paralympic team. they're discussing pistorius's psychological profile. he's accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend reeva steenkamp. he says he thought she was an intruder. happening today, two civil cases involving accused killer aaron hernandez go to court in massachusetts. the former new england patriots tight end is charged in a double murder back in 2012. the victims' families are suing him. he pleaded not guilty in that case and also to murder of a semipro football player last summer. crews in california are battling a growing wildfire in the napa valley that now burned more than 2700 acres. roads are closed and nearly 200 homes have been evacuated. buildings are damaged, no injuries reported. graco is extending a recall on car seats to include nearly 2 million infant seats. they recalled 4 million toddler seats because the harness buckles can get gummed up by food and drink. that makes it hard to get kids out. 6:16. out. ma the door to warmer this morning and sunshine falling on center city, that's a live view from the adventure aquarium. currently 76 degrees in philadelphia. we should be in the 60s at this hour, running 3 degrees warmer than yesterday. and a hazy view of center city, hot, humid conditions will feel like 100 this afternoon, possibly more. tomorrow a different story, not as hot. in part because of the moisture coming up the cst from tropical storm arthur. arthur has strengthed, 60 miles an hour now. moving faster to the north at 6 miles an hour that will keep it off the florida coastline but headed for the carolinas. that moisture as it comes up the coast will be part of our weather. this is the tropics first thing friday morning. you can see the storm centered off the north carolina coast but spreading moisture into our area on the fourth of july. the first moisture arriving late in the day tomorrow with heavier rainfall. late friday we'll see clearing north and west. the storm will pass by us offshore. stays far enougz off the coast, we won't see much wind. there's still the potential for rain even during the late afternoon and early evening hours at the shore before that one heads out to sea. for today, late day showers and thunderstorms for most of the i-95 corridor, hold off until this evening. north and west you can see them develop during the middle afternoon hours. tomorrow, not as hot but heavy rainfall, especially during the afternoon and evening hours as arthur comes up the coast and a cold front comes in from the west. that cold front will clear things out north and west for friday. and it looks good for philadelphia, for fireworks friday evening after a rainy start. the rain will be ending, 82 degrees, the high temperature on friday. then stand by. we're doing it drivers in new jersey and delaware. new from overnight, this is the scene of a double shooting in newark, delaware at the village windover apartment complex. two men were shot just before midnight. they were rushed to the hospital and we're still working to find out how seriously they were hurt. police are looking for three men seen leaving the scene. new from overnight, investigators are looking for the gunman who opened fire in chester that left five people hurt there. it happened just after midnight on the 1400 block of western congress street. two 14-year-olds and three adults were location, possibly the philadelphia bomb squad where the investigation will begin in ernest. you can see a lot of debris still on the corner along with the food truck here at the corner of north 3rd and west wyoming. surveillance video from a nearby business showing passing cars around the time of the explosion, 5:30 yesterday afternoon. the blast from the food truck shot flames about 200 feet into the air which engulfed passing cars, neighboring homes and businesses in this section of feltonville were shaken on their foundation. 12 people injured. >> the propane splashed all the way across the street on that pole. that's why the pole was on fire. a person walking by got burnt, one lady on her face. >> i checked with police who say the two people inside the truck at the time of the blast are in critical condition at temple university hospital. a 13-year-old girl is at st. christopher's hospital, she's been upgraded from critical to stable and a 23-year-old woman is in temple been reduced for the woman shown on video beating up another woman in front of the victim's toddler in salem county. harris is still behind bars but her bail has been reduced from $35,000 to 20,000. she surrendered to authorities on monday night. authorities say harris is the woman in this video beating another woman in front of the victim's 2-year-old son. behind a salem county mcdonald's where they both worked last week. the victim told nbc 10 it's because she talked about harris's love life. new information from overnight in the battle over the proposed cigarette tax which would help fund the philadelphia school district. our sources in harrisburg are telling us that the cigarette tax is basically on life support right now. a house committee pulledç the x from a key amendment. that means the house may not vote on the cigarette tax today and it may never pass. the philadelphia delegation will spend today fighting for that tax and the school money it would bring. >> there's tough than 260 others. his brother died after a shootout with police. in asking that the trial be moved, defense lawyers noted that the trial of oklahoma city bomber timothy mcveigh was moved to denver. prosecutors agreed to the mcvey change of venue because the bombing damaged the federal courthouse. >> 6:44 in the crisis in iraq, a few hundred u.s. troops arriving in iraq will determine if that the libyan militia leader charged in the benghazi attacks has a detention hearing in washington. a public defender for ahmed abu khattala entered a not guilty plea. he's accused of supervising the attack that killed an ambassador and three americans. in nigeria, we now have video. the terror group that kidnapped hundreds of school girls is suspected in that bombing and nigeria's military says it arrested a number of militants linked to the group. at least 20 died in the explosion yesterday. the blast damaged several buildings and vehicles. in ukraine, a cease-fire is over and fighting has resumed. ukrainian forces are again pounding away at rebel bases and checkpoints with air and artillery strikes. skirmishes between ukrainianç troops and pro-russian separatists broke out in several towns. ukraine's president proposed the cease-fire but said he would not renew it. the obama administration is trying to figure out what to do with hundreds of women and children from central america who were blocked from entering the facility in california. the first wave of women and children flown in from texas blocked by protesters in southern california. secretary of state john kerry asked central american leaders to tell parents that it's not safe to send their children across the border alone. the president says he can only do so much without congress. >> whatever we do administratively is not going to be sufficient to solve a broken immigration system. >> the women and children who were turned away in california are being taken care of by a faith-based organization. it say first for the u.s. navy. a woman has risen to the ranks of four star admiral. michelle howard has been promoted to the navy's highest rank. she'll serve as the vice chief of naval operations which makes her the number two admiral in the navy. howard graduated from the naval academy in 1982 and became the first african-american woman to command a navy ship in 1999. there's a new manager in already in effect at 2:00 a.m. on friday. and at that hour, they'll be spreading wet weather into our area and passing offshore early saturday morning. but as it moves up the coastline, we could see some pretty good rip currents along the coastline. that will be a big threat for the holiday weekend. the weather will be improving quite a bit. today, 82 degrees along the coast lien. tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms. rip currents are going to be an issue for thursday. but friday, especially, and into the weekend as well. the chance of showers will be tapering off for friday for the out, the grupp scattered. they were hanging out on a basketball court. as they were running away, five of them were injured. let's go to the video. it happened just after midnight on the 1400 block of congress street. a 14-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were among those injured. they were shot in the foot and the leg. three adult men were also shot. all were taken to crozer-chester medical center where we understand they are in stable condition. police are still look for the person or people responsible. if you have any information, call chester police. reporting live outside the police department, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. four are in the hospital, two in critical condition following a food truck explosion in philadelphia's feltonville section. investigators are looking for the
