Drove around, picked up their cones. I had a chance to talk with them before they started to break down for the morning. They said that they had two problems this morning with this cold. The first is just moving around in the cold because theyre so layered up. And the second is actually working in the ground. The ground is frozen because of the cold temperatures. And so, its difficult to dig into the ground for the first few inches. Once you get below that, they say the ground is a little more thawed, easier to work. Now, i talked earlier about how they would take breaks from the cold. One of the workers told me its not necessarily a good idea. Now we know they contained images of children and violent acts against women. Attorney general Kathleen Kane called the images deplorable. So far, she has fired 4 employees and suspended 11. A newspaper report says cooper hospitals ceo and wife were stabbed before fire broke out in their home in september. A Family Member told the courier post that John Sheridan and his wife, joyce, were stabbed several times east. Their bodies were found inside their somerset home after a fire in their bedroom. Four assistant coaches suspended from Sayreville War Memorial High School in Middlesex County can now return to teaching. That decision came last night from School Officials who did not reinstate the head football coach. Seven players are charged with Sexual Assault and other crimes against freshmen teammates. In another high school hazing scandal, the head coach at central bucks west has lost his job on the field. Yesterday the School Removed brian hensel as coach and lifted suspensions for his assistants. Hensel will get to keep his job as a teacher. The School Canceled the final two games of the football season after allegations surfaced that upper classmen were targeting freshmen on the team. Its a trial that could affect every Public School student in new jersey. Today a judge will hear arguments about whether children should say the words under god in the pledge of allegiance. An Atheist Group is suing to cut those two words out of the pledge. The American Humanist Association filed suit in monmouth county. A judge in massachusetts threw out a similar lawsuit earlier this year. Looking ahead now to decision 2015 and the race for mayor of philadelphia appears to be getting more crowded. State senator Anthony Williams and former District Attorney lynn abraham plan to formally announce their bids for mayor today. Theyre both democrats. Meantime, also a former spokesperson for mayor Michael Nutter is now considering a run for the office. Doug oliver launched an Exploratory Committee yesterday. Many groups and students in philadelphia are protesting because they want to make sure that the money is distributed equally to urban areas where there are more minority students. Yeah, but if you do have to call aaa for help, i can tell you, these two dispatchers behind me who were called in early this morning because of the cold weather, they are standing by and they are dealing with an increased number of calls so far this morning. So, when you remember the last winter we had, more than a dozen storms, 70 inches of snow, you definitely want to be prepared when you head out to your car. Here in the aaa dispatch center over the last few days, they have had calls for things like frozen locks and dead batteries, of course. Now, two signs that your car battery has died. Theres usually a sulfur smell that can come from under your hood. And of course, your car doors will not unlock. You dont have to leave anything on to make your battery go dead. Its just a condition of the temperature and the weather. Reporter but remember, you can easily drain your battery by leaving your car lights on. So you dont want to do that. Happening now, a honduran woman refuses to leave a Philadelphia Church as she battles the government over deportation. Angela navarro is defying federal orders to leave the country and is taking sanctuary with her family at a church in west kensington. Navarro was issued a deportation order ten years ago when she was caught on the u. S. mexico border. Since then, she met her husband, shes had children, she worked as a cook until she recently received a final order. Her case is meant as a highprofile act of civil disobedience. And happening today in washington, a house hearing on Security Breaches by the u. S. Secret service. Members of the Judiciary Committee will talk to acting director Joseph Clancy about a series of recent security lapses at the white house. One of those includes the case of the man that jumped over the fence and ran into the white house. The committee will examine problems and look for solutions to prevent Security Breaches from happening in the future. Also on capitol hill today, the House Oversight committee will hold a hearing on Data Security at the u. S. Postal service. Last week, the post office revealed that a cyber attack exposed the personal information of 800,000 postal workers. Lawmakers will question officials on why it took the Postal Service two months before it went public about the hack. Now from our delaware bureau, the state will make changes to an intersection because of a red light camera controversy. Drivers say its not fair to their wallets. Thousands of drivers have gotten tickets at concord and broome right off i95. Why . Well, the cars are not coming to a full stop before making a right turn, but drivers complain they have to stop twice before turning since the painted line for stopping is 40 feet from the intersection. They say they will move the stopping line closer to the corner to be caught by the camera. Now, to the longest delayed road project in pennsylvania. A neighborhood in Montgomery County just found out that the project has been delayed again. The edgehill tyson reconstruction project in abington township wont begin now until some time in 2017. Neighbors just learned this during a Public Meeting last night and werent too happy about it. The project started in 2002 and is designed to improve edgehill road, tyson avenue and connecting streets. People living in this area say those streets are a hazard. Its just, its very, very dangerous just to walk down the street, and we dont have sidewalks and theres no parks as well. Abington township still needs some time to get more than 200 homeowners to sign off on the improvements. Construction projects usually ending about this time.
