here. most of the showers hitting pennsylvania and new jersey are moving off to the north, and off shore, but we do see some hanging along the shore. let's zone in there. closely, you can see, red and oranges near fork and toms rivers, some of the heavy rain out there. this is going to move off as we move through the next hour. there are flood advisories and flash flood warnings in place. they'll be lifted around lunchtime. for the rest of the zone, not tracking any more showers. clouds are starting are clear. we're at 79 in philadelphia. dover, 80 degrees there. still in the upper 60s in mount pocono. we'll talk more about temperatures through this afternoon and a second round of rain. thank you, krystal. we're getting reports of trees down fouling this morning's heavy rain. this tree fell on an suv in center city. this is at hint and south streets. you can see the street is blocking -- blocked off there because of that tree. and strawberry drive in west philadelphia is shut down because of a tree that fell overnight. the floodwaters are receding, but more wet weather is on the way. >> drew smith is live for us in mercer county. drew, throughout the morning, you showed us roads closed. what is it like now? >> reporter: we've moved to another one of those roads, katy, you can see they've got the cones out. police are trying to be diligent about letting drivers know what to expect. you can see, the drivers are going around a tree that fell. one other thing, the river that runs through this area, and it has been up near the bridge that we're standing on throughout the morning. luckily, it is beginning to drawdown, but the rain just started up again. the tennis court behind here is flooded out in some parts. it was a busy night for the police here in west windsor township. they were out trying to shut down the roads, trying to keep the drivers away, but some cars went through the high floodwaters any way. and they ended up getting stuck for the fire department was out res queuing those folks. over at the princeton junction train station, the pedestrian tunnel became flooded. they had to bring in a bus to get people in and out of that spot. that has returned to normal, but it was a busy night for a lot of people. >> all the years coming, i've never seen that happen. >> especially when it is darker out, you cannot tell how deep the water is. >> reporter: and businesses were also affected by all of that flooding. we saw a wawa over in princeton had to close because of those issues. back out live, i want to show you one of the big problems. all of that debris that came up during the flooding ended up on ton of the storm drains. so if it does rain again today, it's going run right back into all of that junk and that's going to slow the process of keeping these roads clear. so a warning from police, if you're out driving, be care of the debris and if it starts raining again, there could be more flooding. i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. >> drew, maryland are under a state of emergency after this flooding that you see here. crews rescued 120 people from a popular bar and cars on main street. this is west of baltimore. the howard county press secretary confirmed at this hour, one woman drowned in the flash flooding. this new video, you can see the extent of the damage there, a whole section of the street is gone this morning. it is about 9:05. turning now to decision 2016. hillary clinton's after convention bus tour is entering the third and final day. after two stops in pennsylvania, they're wrapping up in ohio. the democratic presidential nominee arrived at a rally in youngstown last night. you're looking at cell phone video shot by one of our digital producers who is traveling on the bus tour with her. clinton and kaine firefighters to rescue him from a stuck elevator in colorado springs. the republican presidential nominee and several others were trapped between floors at a resort hotel. fire crews opened the elevator hatch. they lowered down a ladder and everyone did get out safely, but afterwards at a rally, trump criticized the city's fire marshal for limiting the size of the crowd. donald trump is also complaining about the schedule of debates against hillary clinton this fall. he said he doesn't like the fact that two of the three debates will be testify advised during nfl games. trump said the league agreed with him in a letter it sent to the republican nominee. the nfl denied sending any such letter. the first presidential debate is set for monday night, september 26th. it is 9:07, and new this morning, three people involved in a crash in philadelphia are in the hospital. nbc 10 was along the scene at the roosevelt boulevard and fox street in east falls. the crash happened around 1:45 this morning. we are working to find out the victims' conditions and more details about the crash. from the delaware bureau, a dirt bike rider remains in critical condition after his bike collided with a fire truck that was on its way to a call. the accident happened yesterday in wilmington at 4th and van buren streets. you can see the bike is compl e completely wedged under the fire truck. the intersection was closed for several hours. the rider could face charges of not yielding tots fire truck. from our jersey shore bureau, investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that ripped through this apartment in atlantic county. a firefighter took this drone video in eagles wood. it broke out in this apartment complex connected to an appliance store. the firefighters did rescue a dog in this park in manchester on wednesday. authorities say the man was with his own dog in a wooded area of the park when they ran into a wild animal. a friend of the victim told our sister station in new york what happened next. >> he was walking his own dog back there and a large brown dog attacked him. >> out of nowhere. >> out of nowhere. >> the coyote in new jersey, that sounds crazy. >> i've got to keep my eyes opened more. >> the man was bitten several times before the animal ran away. the victim's dog was not hurt. a 42-year-old skydiver is now in the history books. the first person to leap from a plane without a parachute. and land in a net, instead. look at that. >> this givespy me a little anxiety. he made the jump in california yesterday. he has been preparing for this for the past two years. as you can hear there, cheers erupted when he landed dead center in the net, after a two-minute free fall. he said the experience was incredible. video made me nervous. here is a live look in center city. the good news, we're not seeing the heavy downpour we saw a couple of hours ago. the clouds are breaking up, already seeing that along parts of the shore, in fact, if we flip over, look at north wild wood, we've got blue skies. so some areas are already dealing with sunshine and we should see a mix of some sun and clouds, and then more clouds back in mid late day, to what we saw yesterday. we could see pockets of heavier storms redevelop, even after what we saw this morning. unfortunately, some areas are saturated because of this. so yesterday evening, in mercer county, we had serious flooding issues, some rain across south and central new jersey early this morning. now it has moved off along the shares, areas like philadelphia, no longer dealing with the storms. if we zoom into the shore, areas still seeing the orange, meaning it does still show off heavier rain moving through. same for toms river. a lot of it is moving off, over the ocean. what we're seeing is finally some of these heavier storms moving out. it took time for it to happen. all morning long we've been tracking these storms, and we still have the flash flood warning until 11:00 a.m. spotty showers popping up in cape may, but overall, a nice mix of sun and clouds. they'll pop up, move out and then that potential will remain through the rest of the day. pop up showers, later in the day, some of those pop up thunderstorms. there is no guarantee your area will be hit. it is not a complete wash-out but we could see stronger storms develop. p pemperton, 84, autobahn, 80, hamilton, 76 outside. look at your neighborhoods for today, like we said, a lot of 80s. center city, 80. mid 80s for lands dell. a pop up cannot be ruled out. heavier rain, same in the lehigh valley, 84. hamilton township, 81. atlantic city, 73. mixing sun along the shore. not saying you have to stay in doors all day, but be forewarned of the possibility of showers later on this afternoon. on your wash-out, but we're looking at storms on and off in today's forecast. we've already seen this morning, now we're starting to flip the switch to the off. later today, there will be more activity moving through. we could see evening storms possible in our forecast today, and that continues into your monday, tuesday as well. you can see that at the bottom of your screen with the scrolling seven-day forecast. here is wilmington, the tarp is still out, probably a good plan, because again, possibility of scattered showers and pockets of heavier rain or thunderstorms is in the forecast. this a look at your doppler radar right now. most activity has started to move out of philadelphia and out of new jersey, pushing along the shore but we'll take a closer look at what is moving through and also talk about the possibility of storm activity later today. that's coming up in just a bit. krystal, thanks. we're getting reports of trees down following this morning's heavy rain. this tree fell on an suv in center sfi. you can see there, it is blocking the road as well. another tree we've learned is down on strawberry mansion drive in west philadelphia. nbc 10 drew smith is live in mercer county right now, getting ready to show, right, the damage behind you. hi, drew. >> reporter: hey, good morning. you can take a look, we've been driving around the streams and rivers in this area. they're really swollen. this is a little creek that looks like a river. you can look at the parking lot behind me, for a tennis courts, you can see half the parking lot is under water. if we spin around, i'm going to show you this bridge, one of the roads that was flooded for most of the overnights and into the morning and the water pretty much getting by underneath. we have some video from last night and you can see why they had to declare a state of emergency here in this area. that's because police had to come out, block off roads as that water quickly rose up. the fire department also having to do several rescues, stranded drivers who decided to go past those traffic cones, we spoke to one of them about what happened. >> we turn around, and my gas pedal stopped working and i'm not able to shift into gear and not doing anything. then the police had to help push the car out for us. >> reporter: these storms also affected mass transit besides the drivers on the road. princeton junction, there is a pedestrian tunnel that passengers have to use if they want to switch side, and that got washed out during the storm. we are back on washington road, you can take a look at one of the problems that is all of that debris that has built up on the storm drains. that's why they're worried if t the rain gets intense, it can be a problem all over again. the police are doing a lot of work out here. they got rid of one of the trees that was down. they picked it up and traffic moving through here again. all the roads have reopened since this morning, and they're hoping that that rain doesn't moving into parts of new jersey but otherwise a lot of the viewing zone has cleared out in terms of showers, still a cloud and now sunshine mixed out there. so a little sunshine breaking through as we hit your late morning hours. here is the forecast for us at lunchtime, philadelphia about 84, should peek in the upper 80s, spot thunderstorms are possible late afternoon, into the lehigh valley as well, where we could see it later on tonight. 8:00 p.m. hour, notice temperatures along the shore, barely making into the lower 80s, delaware, also creeping up into the upper 80s with sunshine mixing this sunday morning and we want to show you a big surprise for a local police officer who is recovering after being shot in the line of duty. you probably recognize this smiling face. folcroft police officer chris dorman is definitely smiling after receiving a new and improved version of his jeep. a chester county company worked with his dad to outfit his jeep wranger with new tires, lights and bumpers. an online firm donated $25,000 for parts and labor for the upgrade. he was shot seven times during a drug investigation in folcroft last month. the shooting suspect has been charged with attempted murder. community members and police officers all came together to heal in dallas this weekend. the national association of police activities, dallas mavericks and other groups invited kids to american airlines center for a day of games and performances. the event happened just weeks after five dallas police officers were gunned down during a protest march. organizers say they hope to improve relations between the community and officers and encourage kids to be part of the solution. we want to update you on a story we brought to you as breaking news earlier this morning. >> one person is dead and five others wounded in separate shootings in austin, texas overnight. police say the entertainment district where the gunfire broke out is now secure. authorities said unrelated incidents sparked an active shooter scare. a woman in her 30s is dead. we know that medics took other victims to the hospital. there is no word on their conditions at this hour. police are not ruling out that one of the injured people could be the shooter. just within the hour, the ntsb confirmed that at least 16 people have died in a hot air balloon crash near austin, texas. the crash happened yesterday in a pasture. federal investigators say the balloon caught fire near power lines. they said the company that may not be registered with the state, was operating the balloon. two years ago, the faa rejected safety recommendations for greater oversight of hot air balloon rides. and after many hours of rain showers this morning, finally, most of the activity is moving off the shore here. so what was a very wet, wet start to the morning and areas like philadelphia through trenton and along parts of new jersey, now is moving out. let's take a closer look, where we still have lingering showers right near toms river to lake wood. you see this area in green, the box under radar. the box is showing where that flash flood warning was put into place. it was put into place because we had a heavy storm cell that hung over the area. through this morning, more than 5.5 inches reported at the ocean county airport. you can see why flooding concerns. 5.5 inches in a few hours dumping over that area that has moved off, though. very spotty activity, little pockets near maurice river, through corbin city, and that's going to be moving directly to the east as it moves out and a spot near cape may courthouse. we do have spotty, rains and clouds mixing near cape may as we move into the mid to late morning hours. hour-by-hour forecast, we roll to 4:30 in the afternoon. it looks like on the model, we pull back in some rain starting to develop again near philadelphia, and unfortunately, it is yet again over the same area seeing some of the heavier rain, harvey cedar, trenton, new york. so those showers potentially moving, thunderstorms possible later. 8:30 in the evening, watch as we move to midnight here, a line of shor sho thunderstorms popping into wilmington, you did see there, it wasn't a complete wash-out. it is just some activity popping up. mostly breaking apart by your monday morning, but possibility is for more rain to pick up later in the damon day. if you're going to the pocono raceway this weekend for your sunday forecast, you could see thunderstorms developing, even into the evening. temperatures should peek right around the mid 70s for today. as for the shore, you just saw some spotty rain out there possible. maybe a pop up thunderstorm later this afternoon. temperatures should sit mostly in the mid 80s, 83 in after lan, margate, and we're looking at sun, clouds and storms later today. on your ten-day, on 10, 87, tomorrow, 83 by tuesday. that's our last rain day. then you see 80s continue through thursday, but 90s return your friday and
