New from overnight, charges are pending against a man accused of leading police on a twocounty chase that ended with the suspect crashing right into a ravine. Emergency crews rushed the man to the hospital overnight. Troopers say they tried to pull him over for speeding but he kept going. The pursuit led officers on the schuylkill expressway near roosevelt boulevard and finally came to a spot seven miles away in plymouth meeting. Thats where the man on the motorcycle went down a ravine. He is expected to be okay. Investigators plan to charge him with fleeing and eluding police. Also new from overnight, police have a suspect in custody in connection with a shooting in west philadelphia. Nbc 10 was on the scene on hoopes street after shots were fired around 12 30 this morning. One man was shot in the chest and went to the hospital in Critical Condition. We have new information about a police chase that crossed state lines from delaware to pennsylvania. Overnight, we learned that it all started when officers on routine patrol found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. They discovered the two victims on monroe street in wilmington just after 6 00 last night. The man is in critical but stable condition. The woman is stable. While at the scene, officers saw a car take off and the chase was on. It ended with a crash in folsom Delaware County. There, police took two men into custody. Theres no word yet on exactly what charges they will face. Now to some new details about this house fire and collapse in Pennsauken Camden county. Weve learned that the home on stow road belongs to the mother of a pennsauken volunteer firefighter, who has been battling cancer. The fire marshal is now investigating what sparked the flames around 3 30 yesterday afternoon. The fire quickly spread through the entire house before it collapsed. Nobody was hurt the house belongs to the mother of kevin sochanchak, the volunteer firefighter and his girlfriend pictured here have both been battling cancer. They are now in remission. The American Red Cross is helping three adults displaced by the fire. This morning, Philadelphia Police have a person of interest in connection with a deadly hitandrun. We first told you about this yesterday morning. It all happened friday night in fishtown. Police tell us that the driver of an suv struck and illkilled a man on Delaware Avenue and then took off from the scene. The victim was 24 years old. Yesterday, in the wissinoming section of the city, police confiscated an suv matching the description of the vehicle involved in the incident. Right now, there are no arrests in the case. From our Delaware Bureau a wilmington woman is now facing her fifth dui. Troopers arrested 54yearold ann baker around 1 00 in the afternoon on friday in newark. They say she ran a red light. On monday mayor Michael Nutter and other top brass in the city will close the official 30day mourning period for sergeant wilson, who was killed in the line of duty on march 5th. According to investigators, officer wilson was inside this north philadelphia gamestop store, buying a gift for his son, when two brothers tried to rob the place. Wilson stopped the robbers, but died in a shootout. Prosecutors say at trial, they plan to show Surveillance Video from inside the store.
