Meteorologist Michelle Grossman is keeping an eye on the radar and the temperature. Talk to us about it michelle. Were seeing some spots below freezing and were starting to see that freezing rain in spots. Heres a live look outside. Were looking at grey skies and freezing rain across the area. To the south and east, were seeing rain falling. Thats why were seeing temperatures above freezing. And this is what were watching the past couple of hours and what we are worried about. That precipitation would areviewrive before the temperatures went up and thats what were seeing. Doesnt take much to make slick roadways. Be careful as you head out there this morning. Stay indoors, if you can. You can see some pink along i95, north and west of philadelphia, south and east of philadelphia as well thats where were seeing the potential for some slick roadways. Right now, 32 in philadelphia. We actually went up a degree in philadelphia. And thats the hope that once this rain moves in and the freezing rain moves in the storm system gets closer well start to see those temperatures rising. 46 in wildwood 48 in atlantic city. Well above freezing. South and east of philadelphia to the north and west we are well below freezing 25 right now in lancaster. Its a disturbing crime that has shaken a Burlington County community. A new mother is accused of setting her baby girl on fire in the middle of the road. The mom is in jail this morning on 500,000 bail. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton is live in pemberton township where a memorial is growing at the scene of the crime. Monique . Reporter thats right, rosemary. The road you talked about winds through a Rural Community here in pemberton township. This is where the memorial is growing beside the road still marked by Police Crime Scene ;, e tape. You can see some teddy bears of stuffed fish also some pink and blue and white ribbons and bows. Now, authorities tell us a 22yearold, hyphernkemberly dorvilier, of pemberton township, set her baby girl on fire, shortly after she was born. This week, those circumstances surrounding the birth will be examined. Nbc 10 went to the dorvilier home but no one answered our knock at the door. Dorvilier is accused of dousing the baby with an accelerant in a remote area just a few miles from her own home. Sources say she may have used dw40. A neighbor says no one suspected she was pregnant. I dont care what the problem might be with your children there are so many things and so many places you can take them. You dont have to do anything like that. Reporter now, the little girl with her umbilical cord still attached was airlifted to st. Christophers hospital and died two hours later. Dorvilier is being held on 500,000 bail. The medical examiner will be performing an autopsy this week to determine exactly how the little girl who was set afire here died. In the next half hour youre going to hear from someone with the fire company to tell us about the alternatives Young Mothers have when they dont wish to keep their children. Live for now in pemberton township, Monique Braxton, nbc 10 news. New from overnight in philadelphia two people are in the hospital and a gunman is on the loose. A man and a woman were shot around midnight in the citys frankfort neighborhood. The man was shot in the face. Hes in Critical Condition and the woman was shot in the chest and arms. Shes stable this morning. Again, police are looking for the shooter. Also new from overnight, a man is in critical but stable condition after a driver hit him while he was walking in the cobbs creek neighborhood of philadelphia. This happened on the 5,400 block of baltimore avenue just before 2 00 this morning. Police tell us the driver did stop at the scene, theres no word on exactly what led up to the crash, and theres no word if any charges will be filed in this case. After 11 hours, the water is finally running again at a busy Center City Hotel. Around 6 00 last night, a water main ruptured underground, leaking water into the subbasement at the loews hotel at 12th and market street. No power or water for the guests. Hotel management tell us they were close to full occupancy, but power was eventually restored right around 9 00 last night and the water began to flow again about 5 00 this morning. Philadelphia university is trying to reach a fundraising goal by tomorrow the oneyear anniversary of the murder of an architect. A robber shot and killed 26yearold amber long for her purse in northern liberties. The gunman and another robber are still on the loose. Longs mother established a Memorial Scholarship at Philadelphia University where long studied, to help other architecture students. 19,000 had been raised so far. The goal is 25,000 by tomorrow. We have some new information this morning on the condition of the woman injured when a temple student fell on top of her from eight stories up. Erica goodwins family says that shes been upgraded from critical to serious condition. Goodwin was hurt when 18yearold rebecca kim fell from the center city window on thursday night. Kim died after landing on goodwin, who was on the sidewalk below. Rebecca kim was a freshman at temple university. She went to high school in montgomery county. Police say she fell to her death after she climbed out of the window to take pictures. A nighttime workout was cut short for some folks in Camden County yesterday. The gym had to be evacuated after witnesses say that somebody pulled out a gun. A viewer sent us this video from just outside of the l. A. Fitness in summerdale. People at the gym tell us that an employee was working out there when some kind of altercation happened and he took out his gun. Officials evacuated the building and then police took the man into custody. In Lehigh County we are learning more about a deadly crash between a train and an suv. Authorities tell us that 64yearold carol midei, the driver, became disoriented before turning on to the tracks in macungie friday night and getting stuck. An oncoming Freight Train couldnt stop in time and slammed into her car. Officials have ruled mideis death as accidental. This week president obama will deliver his sixth state of the Union Address before a republicanled congress. Worshippers braved the wind and the rain during the pontiffs final service during his trip to the country. The pope urged people to protect their children from sin and give them hope. Today, some lawmakers continue their visit to cuba as officials from both countries move forward with a new relationship. Now lets head to florida, where police have captured a teen couple. Theyve been making headlines in connection to an alleged crime scene across the south. Officers found 18yearold dalton hayes and his 13yearold girlfriend this morning asleep in a stolen truck in panama city, beach. Hayes is charged with being a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition to kentucky. The 13yearold is now with the Florida Department of children and families. Hayes and his girlfriend were wanted in the south for allegedly stealing trucks and cashing stolen checks. Although they have been compared to bonnie and clyde, they are not accused of committing any violent crimes. All right. Lets stay in florida. Police there say a gunman who shot two people at a Shopping Mall before killing himself was out to target his wife. The shooting happened yesterday in melbourne. Thats on Floridas Atlantic coast. The gunman opened fire inside of the food court where his wife worked. She was wounded, but will be okay. A man nearby though was shot and killed. Witnesses and Police Describe this scene as shoppers ducked for cover or ran for their lives. I have no words for this. This is ridiculous. These are the kind of incidents that we plan for, we train for, but hope we never have to deal with. Police say the shootings stem from a domestic situation. The mall was closed down yesterday, but its expected to reopen today. In oregon Authorities Say a highway pileup involving more than two dozen vehicles all started with some black ice. According to police a couple of tractortrailers came upon the ice early yesterday morning and slammed into each other. That set off a Chain Reaction crash. Crews spent most of the day clearing away the cars and big rigs. 12 people were hurt four of them had serious injuries. In california wildlife officials are trying to identify a very mysterious slime thats been killing sea birds in the San Francisco bay area. Officials discovered the substance friday when some birds were seen looking distressed in the bay. The officials took in about 70 birds to a rescue center and recovered 20 dead ones. The birds were covered in a pale grey sticky slime. The slime damages the birds feather and the ability to stay waterproof which can lead to hypothermia. Early tests show that the slime is not oil and the coast guard has been unable to find out exactly writ originated. This is a look at radar. Rain to the south and east also delaware, but then you see that pink falling. Thats where were seeing the slick roadways the freezing rain the drizzle. Its a glaze, a little tiny bit, but it does not take much especially on those sidewalks and those secondary roadways. So as we zoom in a little closer here this is where you want to be careful into bucks county montgomery county, right along the i95 Corridor North and also south. And into parts of mercer county.
