Reporter a short time ago Burlington County prosecutor berndy who has an office here announced a pemberton township mother set her own newborn on fire with an accelerate. He said it was poop. She said her daughter pooped in the car and. Reporter what was on fire wasnt dog waste but an infant with the umbilical cord still attached. My wife heard the baby scream. And when that happened i slammed her door shut. She tried to run for it and i just put her to the ground. And that is when he saw that it was a baby. Joseph said the woman told him it wasnt her baby. But the Prosecutor Says the 22yearold allegedly doused her own baby girl and set her on fire. Disheartening. It was like a nightmare for what i saw at 11 00 at night. Investigators also say the baby girl was air lifted to st. Christophers hospital and died two hours later. To burn somebody, another human being, that is incredible. Reporter that is how long time residents who came to the crime scene marked by police tape and paramedics gloves reacted when we approached them. It is a tragedy. You know, im a parent.
