Ill let you know what that means coming up in my first alert sevenday forecast. Well check back with you soon. New from overnight, Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in east germantown. A man was shot in the leg. Responding officers took that victim to Einstein Medical Center where he is now in stable condition. No word on a suspect or a motive in this shooting. A vigil will happen later today in Central New Jersey for the alleged victims in the Sayerville War Memorial High School football scandal. The event is scheduled for 6 00 tonight in kennedy park. Thats across the street from the high school in middlesex county. Meanwhile, a seventh student has surrendered to face sex crime charges in the hazing scandal. Prosecutors say Freshman Team members were hazed and harassed by upper classmen. Some of the attacks were sexual in nature. The defendants range from 15 to 17 years old. The schools entire football season was cancelled earlier this week. The Infectious Disease conference in Center City Philadelphia will wrap up today. Experts from across the country have been gathered here since wednesday. Theyve been talking about ways to treat and prevent a wide range of diseases and there has been a focus on ebola and enterovirus d68. Lets bring you back to that breaking news that were following. We have just learned that a Health Care Worker in texas has tested positive for ebola after a preliminary test. The centers for Disease Control will conduct more tests to confirm that. The Texas Department of health says that the worker cared for thomas duncan. He was the first person diagnosed with ebola in the u. S. He died on wednesday. Meanwhile, passengers arriving at new yorks jfk airport from african countries affected by ebola are going through a stepped up screening process. The customs and Border Patrol released these photos yesterday of their agents at work. Theyre using notouch thermometers to take the temperatures of passengers from liberia, sierra leone and guinea. Federal Health Officials say these screenings will add an extra layer of protection against a disease that has already killed more than 4,000 people. Over the next week, the screenings will begin at other Major International hubs, including washington dulles, chicago ohare, atlanta, and newark. Philadelphia international is not included because there are no flights from west africa. A church in the citys West Oak Lane neighborhood is gathering supplies for one of the countries most affected by the ebola outbreak, liberia. They hosted a donation drive yesterday, and hundreds of people answered the call. Volunteers collected bags of food, cleaning products, and medical supplies that will all be sent overseas. A missionary group is helping to ship the boxes of supplies which will leave for liberia on monday. This morning, police in radnor township will hope that somebody will recognize the getup worn by a bank robber to help them make an arrest. One of them showed a gun, but no employees or customers were hurt. Police are hoping that somebody will recognize one of the robbers because of his distinctive shoes, high sox, and gray jogging outfit. The township is now offering a 7,500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and a conviction. Police in moorestown, new jersey, are looking for three men who robbed a Family Dollar at gunpoint. These are surveillance photos from the crime that happened on friday night in west Camden Avenue in burlington county. They got away with some cash. Nobody was hurt in this case. A big drug bust in burkes county after police found cocaine hidden inside an xbox. Police say the drugs were mailed to pennsylvania from the dominican republic. Officers followed the shipment to a home in reading and then made four arrests. The cocaine inside the xbox was worth more than 100,000. Theres more trouble for acme supermarkets. Two stores in our area will be shutting their doors. Both stores are in bucks county. Acme says 130 employees work at both stores, but theyre trying to find them new jobs at nearby locations. The stores will close on november 13th. This news comes after acme reported a data breach just two weeks ago. Sunday night football. Doctors and nurses traveling to west africa are making a stop in alabama first for training on how to treat ebola patients as safely as possible. Nbcs Erica Edwards shows us what kind of preparation they go through. Reporter these doctors and nurses suited up in heavy protective gear are learning step by step how to treat ebola patients in west africa. Were trying to teach people Infection Control in a very handson, practical matter. Reporter dr. Michael young has set up this free specialized Training Facility in aniston, alabama. Doctors, nurses, emts, physicians assistants. Reporter theyre teaching the basics of working in an ebola treatment unit, along with safe disposal of dead bodies which are highly infectious. A bucket with 25 chlorine. Reporter while these folks are preparing to travel overseas, other doctors and nurses are preparing for cases to arrive here in the u. S. Bellevue hospital center. Actors pretending to be potential ebola patients were hired to test several hospital systems, including bellevues. Back at the cdc training course, doctors and nurses are also experiencing the uncomfortable and extreme heat involved with wearing three sets of gloves and personal protective gear covering every inch of their body. We are going to see a cold start, and in some locations, close to or even below freezing. Thats where we have our frost advisory, which will stay in effect until 8 00 a. M. We have your eagles forecast. Its an improved forecast from what we saw yesterday. Right now throughout philadelphia, 47 degrees. Were seeing a few clouds, our humidity is at 77 . The air is calm. Temperatures about six degrees cooler than right now at this time yesterday. Reading, were in the low 40s. 44 degrees in Atlantic City, under clear skies. That always helps us cool down overnight. So do light wind speeds. Were only at 31 degrees in the poconos. 37 in allen town. 43 in quakertown. 47 in pottstown. Northeast philadelphia in the low 40s. If youre closer to the shore, were staying warmer. Take a look at avalon at 50 degrees. And 46 right now in dover. The other thing were dealing with besides the cold and freezing temperatures in the poconos is the fog. So we are down to a threemile visibility in mount pocono, down to less than two miles in allentown. Mount holly down to about three miles here. So just be careful if youre traveling in these areas in the next few hour. We do expect the patchy fog to linger throughout this morning. Patchy frost is a possibility for us as well. With this frost advisory staying in effect at least until 8 00 a. M. And thats because temperatures are in the low to mid 30s throughout the morning hours. Mainly confined to the poconos. Were seeing a few clouds streaming into our region. Our temperatures will start off in the 30s and 40s this morning. We are going to warm into the 50s, eventually pushing into the 60s with more sunshine. So it will be nice as you head out to the game. Just make sure you bring a thicker jacket because we are going to see cooler temperatures because the game is so late. Our future cast shows that we are going to see clouds as we head into monday, even the possibility of a stray passing shower. Same thing on tuesday.
