Still feeling like Single Digits for south jersey and delaware. As we go through tonight, actual temperatures will still be staying in the teens. Fewer clouds start to move in later tonight. A number of agencies involved to find and sometimes convince the Homeless Population in all of Camden County to come in off the street during these code blue conditions. But last night, with the Single Digits, were told there was no convincing at all. In fact every cot here was full and it is expected again, to be at capacity this evening. We had somebody literally freeze to death on the streets. Its happened in philly its happened throughout the country. We dont want to get to that point. Reporter he has lived that life. Be patient with the tow truck driver because he or she may have hypothermia or frostbite by now. I dread this weather. Im not going to lie. Reporter you cannot tow a stranded car in this cold without getting out of the truck. You said she still starts, just not eatheating up . When were out in this weather, its cold. This all started at the corner of 32nd and susquehanna in strawberry mansion. Police say two officers pulled over a silver chevy impala. They say the driver tried to grab one of their guns then ran over officer joe kochmers leg when officer kochmer then fired back. When it happened, he cant see his partner anymore. He knows he goes down. Once he hears the shot put yourself in his mind he doesnt know what happened. The driver took off. Police found the car two hours later on napa street and shortly afterwards took the suspected driver into custody. Hes now being treated at Temple University hospital. She went missing in clayton in october of 2012. After a twoday search, her body turned up in a recycling bin near the home of two brothers who were later charged in the killing. He talked to his team last night about Community Involvement and paying it forward so he called local shelters and said tonight he has free rooms for ten needy families who need a break from the cold. More cold to start off your weekend. Then as we go into next week we have a few days where we do expect an icy mix of weather through the area so ill sew you the timing on that. Keep that in mind as you start off next week. Heres a look at the aramark building. The flags are blowing, just not as hard as earlier today. No wind gusts in philadelphia. Not reported at least right now. We still have a pretty good sustained wind around 10 to 15 miles per hour. Temperature in philadelphia 17 degrees. With that wind it feels like 4 degrees and it continues to feel like Single Digits through the entire area. Actual temperatures north and west are in the teens. So still very cold tonight. Through south jersey and delaware temperatures here anywhere from about 15 to 17 degrees. 19 degrees actual temperature in stone harbor. But now when you factor in the wind we still have out there, feels like Single Digits for everybody. Mt. Pocono feels like minus 1. Feels like 4 in pottstown. Feels like 5 degrees in mt. Holly holly. 7 in millville and dover. As we go through tonight, take a look at the feelslike temperature. Not going to top below zero like last night. Tomorrow morning, friday, 8 00 a. M. , when you walk outside its not going to feel like the negative numbers. Its going to feel like the teens. Still a cold morning. Just not the type of dangerous cold we saw this morning. Feeling around 15 degrees in the city. Through tomorrow afternoon, we feel like anywhere from about 15 to 20 degrees closer to 25 at the shore. But then as we go into saturday i mentioned that cold air coming back. Saturday morning, we could be back down into the minus temperatures. The minus feelslike temperatures north and west. We could have a wind chill of minus 2 in allentown saturday morning. Same thing in reading. Philadelphia feeling like 4 degrees saturday morning. So it is going to get colder again this weekend. Radar keeps us dry, but just off to our west around chicago, we have snow there. Some of the snow could move in early tomorrow morning. Not for everybody. Future weather shows clouds increasing overnight tonight. Tomorrow morning we could have a few snow showers trying to sneak into the area. But, again not everybody, any accumulation will be very small. Then you see 9 00 possibly some snow showers through new jersey but then clearing as we go into the weekend. So overall, were going to see a pattern tomorrow where we could have some snow showers across the area but, again, nothing that looks to be a pretty big deal through the area as well. As we go into the overnight hours for tonight, this is when were going to actually see those temperatures drop back down again, but not as dangerously cold as last night. So, for tonight, a frigid evening. Cloudy. Breezy late tonight. 15 for the low in philadelphia. Single digit, actual temperatures north and west. 9 degrees there. Then tomorrow windy and cold. And that next icy mix returns next week. Keeping power lines charged is a big job for septa in the bone chilling weather. The extreme cold can affect the lines that power septa trains along the tracks. Septas ice removal crew started working in media this morning clearing ice from those overheadlines. See the way theyre doing it, they worked all the way to suburban station in center city. The snow and frigid temperatures create icicles on bridge and trees and only takes one to cause a delay along the system. If it touches a wire it actually blows the circuit. Actual temperatures still getting very cold as we go through tonight, right now we are in the teens. But that windchill, the factor when you step outside, the way it feel when you step out with the wind is not going it be below zero like it was last night. For your teenagers, thats not such a big deal but your toddlers and babies it was dangerously cold this morning. To brace for a quick trip outside, 3yearold Malia Russell gets bundled up tight. It feels like your skin was going to crack when the wind hits you. Reporter its the same routine allentown mom, jill does a dozen times a day for her 4yearold son, elijah. Hat. Jacket. Okay. Youre silly. Freezing. Yeah. We had a twohour delay, so it wasnt as bad as it was two hours before but its pretty freezing, yeah. Reporter parents here at the Cuddle Zone Learning Center dropped their kids off with windchills below zero. Playtime outside is just not an option today, so the little balls of energy are cooped up indoors. And they still need to go outside, but days like today we have to keep them in. Reporter director Michelle Mcilroy says when it gets this cold parents must remember to dress Young Children in layers with no skin showing. Especially infants and babies. They cant regulate their temperature for their body temperature, so as adults we really have to be mindful of that and dress them in layers. Investigators believe Anthony Gabrielle is caught in the rubble of a silo collapse in bristol, part of silvi properties a concrete company. Family members of gabrielle said he was likely loading trucks with the powder cement when the building gave way. Were in recovery mode now, so were going to just wait until they find him. A cafeteria table at a north Jersey Elementary School killed a 7yearold boy. That accident happened after school hours last night at berkeley street elementary in new Milford Bergen county. Brenden jordan was attending an indoor Recreation Soccer Program at the school when he came near a folddown table and benches stored in the cafeteria wall.
