temperature. >> let's think of it as a blanket. it's keeping us warm this morning. we do have that blanket of cloud cover keeping us in the 40s. there's a live look outside. temperatures this morning about ten, even 15 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. that's going to put us in the 40s. all across the area, we are waking up to the 40s as opposed to the 20s and 30s. still cool, it is november.earl morning, temperatures in the 40s. we'll talk more about the weather today, and then we're going to talk about a warm-up before we really plunge into a deep cold later on in the workweek. we'll talk about that coming up. new from overnight, police are investigating the shooting death of a woman in north philadelphia. matt delucia is live at philadelphia police headquarters. what have you learned this morning? >> reporter: detectives are looking at this mysterious case. a woman found outside with a gunshot to the head. we have some video of the scene. philadelphia police tell us it was just before 11:30 last night on the 1600 block of rowan street. someone found the woman lying on the ground. and this happened in the middle of a neighborhood. police are trying to figure out who this woman is and why she was shot. she was pronounced dead at the scene and crime scene investigators were on the scene. as of now, no arrest were made. matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> philadelphia police are investigating another deadly shooting this morning. this one also happened in north philadelphia. the victim was shot in the leg. there are no arrests in this case either. also, the last americans held prisoner in north korea are now back on u.s. soil. matthew miller and kenneth bae were flown in right around midnight. they were accompanied by the director of national intelligence, james clapper. he secured their release through a secret mission to the communist country. miller was arrested last spring after reportedly ripping up his visa at an airport. he was charged with espionage and sentenced to hard labor in north korea. bae had been held for more than two years in a camp. his health was failing. he spoke briefly after landing in washington. >> i just want to say thank you all for supporting me and lifting me up and not forgetting me. >> they also thanked president obama for his support and the north korean government for releasing him. this morning, the search is on for a driver witnesses saw fleeing the scene of a crash involving his truck, and a philadelphia police cruiser. the squad car burst into flames around 5:30 yesterday afternoon. officer mark kinsey was trapped inside the burning car. neighbors, including 17-year-old volunteer firefighter joe chambers seen here pulled the officer to safety. you see the teen meeting the officer in the hospital. he spoke only to nbc 10 about the rescue. >> the door was dented, it wouldn't open. the car caught fire and me and another guy ran -- well, we didn't run. we were already there. he said he couldn't feel his legs. so we said we're going to have to drag you through the window and he was ready for it. >> officer kinsey is in stable condition. he's doing okay. a passenger in the truck was also injured and taken to the hospital. there's no word on that passenger's condition. and again, police are still looking for that driver. happening right now, a day of celebration and commemoration in germany, marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the berlin wall. here is a live look there. on this day in 1989. angela merkel delivered a speech. she also placed a rose in one of the few remaining sections of the wall this morning to remember those who died trying to escape to the west. drivers of a recently launched ride sharing service in philadelphia could soon find themselves under arrest if they continue to drop off and pick people up. that's according to the philadelphia parking authority. the ppa tells us uber x drivers face a thousand dollar fines. uber x is different from the regular uber service because the uber x drivers are common citizens using their own personal cars, not limousine cars. since uber x launched late last month, the ppa has impounded 14 vehicles. the ride sharing program has been controversial in cities across the country and even in europe because it competes with regulated taxi services. this morning, police are on the hunt for a trio of thooefs who broke into a philadelphia charter school and stole four computers along with some cash. you can see the damage they left behind. >> the computers that were taken, probably valued at this point at about $7,500. each of our classrooms has about two computers. so four of our classrooms are going to be impacted on monday morning and we're going to work over the weekend to try to minimize the impact to those classrooms. >> the school is also tightening security before the kids head back to class tomorrow morning. today in south philadelphia, as many as 15,000 supporters will participate in the walk to end alzheimer's. this is a live look at citizens bank park, where the walk will begin at 11:00 this morning. the event is expected to raise more than a million dollars for alzheimer's research and to help care for those affected by the disease. actor and comedian andy dick is in trouble again. coming up next, what police in los angeles are accusing him of doing this time. and on capitol hill, president obama's pick to have the justice department talks about what she'll do as attorney general. but she still needs to be confirmed. details ahead on when that could happen. and a former nfl player is missing some very valuable memorabilia from his playing days. three super bowl rings. he says a burglar made off with the high profile jewelry. now he's turning to washington where white house officials say it's up to senate leaders to set the timeline for the confirmation of attorney general nominee loretta lynch. but a vote isn't likely until next year. >> 55-year-old new york federal prosecutor yesterday. the president said she has a fierce commitment to equal justice. now, if lynch is confirmed, she will replace eric holder as the head of the justice department. she would be the first african-american woman to serve in the position. the ncaa will have to hand over nearly 500 internal e-mails linked to sanctions. the organization imposed on penn state in the aftermath of the jerry sandusky child sex abuse scandal. that order comes from a federal judge. the judge will review the e-mails to see if they can be withheld under attorney-client privilege. the documents were ordered sealed and delivered to the court by noon next friday. the judge also wants a list of the names of every person connected to those e-mails. pennsylvania officials are challenging the sanctions, which include a $60 million fine and the forfeit of 112 wins under the late joe paterno. former nfl star mike vrabel says his three super bowl rings have been stolen. vrabel is the linebackers coach for the houston texans. he earned the rings as a member of the new england patriots. he told police that somebody broke into his house and swiped the rings while he was at his son's basketball game. he announced the news on twitter to let area pawn thestores know about those thefts. andy dick has been arrested. the website tmz is reporting that dick stole a valuable necklace, maybe worth a thousand dollars, from a man on hollywood boulevard. the comedian has had several run-ins with the law, including public exposure and public drunkenness. now to some news on the nurse who fought an ebola quarantine. this bike right by kaci hickox brought a lot of attention to the small town of ft. kent, maine. now the nurse says she's trying to move. officials tried to force hickox into quarantine after she returned from treating ebola patients in west africa. but a judge sided with her and said she didn't need to do that. instead, hickox has been monitoring her own health from her own home. her 21-day incubation period ends on monday. she and her boyfriend say that they plan to leave ft. kent sometime after and they may leave the state altogether. next, a night on the town for some very deserving young women in philadelphia. there were limo rides and makeovers and a meeting with an olympian. the clouds keeping us a little warmer this morning. temperatures yesterday. yesterday, meteorologist michelle grossman was telling us it was just some thin clouds. this morning, a little bit cloudier, a little bit thicker, but they are eventually going to push out. part of our workweek. big changes by the end of the week. we'll talk about it in the seven-day. now to a heartwarming story about some very deserving foster children in philadelphia who got the surprise of their lives last night. 20 girls who are in foster care were treated to a red carpet gala at the kimmel center. nbc 10 was on hand as the girls enjoyed a limo ride to the hall, a fashion makeover, and dinner. winter olympian julia moreno, who was adopted as a child, capped off the evening with an inspirational speech. the event aimed to celebrate the importance of women in the world. kids in delaware county now have a new place to play. former teacher richard carney cut the ribbon. the playground is named for the beloved teacher who is battling cancer. carney taught at the school for 30 years. a grass roots campaign by people in the community funded this new play area. we are just two days away from veterans day, and today there will be a parade and monument dedication in honor of those who have served our country. the parade starts at 1:00 this afternoon. it goes down to edgewood road from long acre lane to veteran square park. then after the parade, the township will dedicate its new veterans monument, which contains the names of 500 veterans. among those names is victor seracini. he was the pilot of the hijacked united airlines flight 175 that flew into the world trade center on 9/11. next, this hit on flyers defenseman luke schenn is stirring up some controversy and his teammates are not happy about it. we'll hear from them straight ahead in sports. i'm around 6:15 this morning. again, we are going to have some sun today similar to yesterday. we'll be a few degrees warmer. that's the good news. we will have a warm-up monday and tuesday of this week, weather headlines on this sunday morning. yeah, a fall, crisp day as we head throughout the afternoon. temperatures around 56 degrees. normal is 59. so pretty much on target. then as we look towards monday night, dry for the eagles and actually not a bad forecast. we're looking at a pretty mild temperature on monday. a nice start to the workweek. a little bit wednesday before things begin to change on thursday. right now we're looking at clear skies in reading. clouds in philadelphia. clouds in atlantic city. so depending on where you are, you're looking at some clouds, which is actually keeping us warmer this morning, so that's good news to. the north and west, we have 37. in allentown, 35. in lancaster, 47. in philadelphia, 41. in mount holly, down to the south and east, 45 in atlantic city and 42 in wilmington. so not a bad start to the day. yesterday we were in the 20s and 30s. big difference this morning. we're going to be milder this afternoon as well. taking a look at the 24-hour change, it is 13 degrees warmer than this time yesterday in philadelphia. even degrees warmer in reading. 16 degrees warmer in millville than this time yesterday. as you're out and about, we go through the morning hours, we're going to bump into the upper 40s, into the low 50s, so by lunchtime, looking good, 54 degrees. we'll have partly sunny skies overhead at that point. back on the air with you later on tonight at 6:00. right at 53 in philadelphia. 45 in allentown. 54 in cape may. not a bad day at all. seasonal for this time of year. right now you can see this cloud cover over us. it will slide off. we're going to look at mostly sunny skies as we head throughout the afternoon. yesterday wasn't bad. it was just chilly. mostly sunny and cool. 54 to 57. 59 is normal for this
