Reporter they said me was a great firefighter but left here three years ago to join the Police Department in baltimore. He was one of the officers involved in the arrest and then subsequent death of freddie gray as part of a nationwide protest. Two Baltimore Police officers kneel over freddie gray arresting him for carrying a small knife. One of them a bicycle officer named edward nero is seen dragging gray into a transport van. It is my job to investigate a the evidence of each case. But today the prosecutor said that arrest was illegal, that the knife gray was holding was lawful and that six baltimore cops including edward nero will now face charges. Officer nero failed to establish probable cause for mr. Gray ear arrest as no crime has been committed by mr. Gray. Officer nero is not charged with murder but could spend 20 years in prison for salt and conduct. What would want people out there to know about him . Hes a great guy. Never hurt nobody. Longtime neighbors say he was always kind and for ten years he served as a firefighter at the local station. His former fire chief tells us nero was a dedicated and outstanding firefighter. No problems and a clean record. He left here in 2012 to join the Baltimore Police force. Meanwhile the Baltimore Police union is saying that nero and the five ore officers have become victims of a rush to judgment. I have never seen such a hurried rush to file criminal charges. Attorneys for the officers say the that the six will be found innocent. No officer injured mr. Gray caused harm to mr. Gray and theyre truly saddened by his death. These officers did nothing wrong. The protesters took to the streets of baltimore again tonight. More than a thousand demonstrators marching from the inner har bower to the city jail and then to the neighborhood where officers arrested freddie gray. They called for the release of protesters who were arrested earlier this week. People stuck in traffic honked their horns and waved in support of those marching. Here at home a few doesen protesters made their way through center city tonight chanting black lives mat per. At times they stopped traffic. Police did not arrest anyone. New at 11 00 police say a case of road rage ended in gun fire if bucks county. It happened in york road this afternoon in an area near several schools. Witnesses reported a man in a black Nissan Maxima driving aggressively. Police say the driver stopped and fired a single shot toward a ford f150 pickup truck. Officers also want witnesses to come forward. Philadelphia police are working with the fbi tonight to search for two missing trucks. One a uhaul van with arizona plates that was fraudulently rented and never returned. A second larger pence ki truck. They say theres no evidence to say the missing trucks are related.
