neighbors say they aren't sure they've seen him recently. but some were so sure they called nbc 10 news to tell us. tonight, federal sources confirmed. it was true. a big mistake was made. castro was let out of prison two years early. in november, 2011, he was sentenced to five years behind bars. castro says there was a clerical error where a probation officer recently thought castro was eligible for a home monitoring program. castro prepared for his release for over a month and had a job lined up with ups. according to his attorney, castro was home for two weeks before the feds realized they'd made a big mistake. if he was home, this neighbor says, he'd be fine with it. >> he's always been a good neighbor. >> well, castro is back here at the federal detention center. we wanted to ask the department of prisons how in the world this happened. but we're going to have to wait until tomorrow. the department was closed today for veteran's day. live in center city, luan chan, nbc 10 news. >> mercer county investigators say one of the drivers in this crash involving a school bus crossed over the center line. that accident happened around 3:00 this afternoon along rt. 206 in trenton. four people were hurt, including a 16-year-old student. all injuries were minor. nbc 10 is there as both of us and the car were towed from the scene. the 16-year-old is a student at roth brooks school. >> tonight, on this veteran's day, resolution in a case of graveyard vandalism targeting those who served our country. bensalem police arrested a man for a string of cemetery fires which left veteran's flags charred. george spepser covered the story live and is back live tonight. george? >> reporter: yeah, jim, investigators tell us it is sheer coincidence that the dna tests on their suspect came back this week leading to an arrest today. but, for family members of those who have served, this timing couldn't be anymore appropriate. as the sunset on this veter ran's day, dozens of miniature american flags waved proudly in a cemetery boupsing back from recent vandalism. ben salem police believe this man, 29-year-old anthony carter, destroyed many of those flags along with veteran's grave markers and other mementos in a series of five arsons late this summer. for amanda, the granddaughter of a navy vet, the arrest brings some closure. >> i want to make sure that the sites that i'm taking care of, because they're my family members, i want to make sure everything is good. >> investigators connected carter to the crimes thanks to a dna swab. they say he gave the sample vol up tearily when an officer noted him acting strangely in a cemetery late at night. >> he was pulling the flags out of the ground. he must have left his dna on the wood. >> what investigators don't know is his motive. this afternoon, he first seemed to deny the crimes all together and then, moments later, said he did not regret them. we got no insight at his home tonight, either. no one answered the door. for others, whose family members served no explanation for the vand limp would suffice. >> i feel betrayed. you know? how could you do that? >> reporter: and they are grateful for that arrest today. carter, tonight, faces charges of arson and institutional imp vandalism. among others, he was arraigned this afternoon and remains in custody tonight. live in ben to death. investigators haven't released a motive and no one is in custody. his son is in the first year with the lakers. he played at the university of north carolina. after finishing off his high school career at episcopal academy in merion. >> the man accused of grabbing a local man on the street and kidnapping her is expected to be in a philadelphia courtroom tomorrow. keith jones joins us corvette into the delaware river. and his estranged wife is telling nbc 10 about their on going marital dispute. her husband had threatened to send the 189890 corvette plun plunging into the river but she didn't expect it happen. >> i saw breaking news come across the news and it showed that a car was just in the tacony, you know. so i was on the phone, i hung up and i said, you know, i called 9-1-1 and i asked them if that was my car. >> police have identified the suspect as john kramer. nbc 10 learned that his wife filed a protection from abuse and that in october, a judge ordered him to windsor township, mercer county. >> now we're going to be dealing with some fog. let's get the latest from sheena parvine. >> yeah, that's right. we already have the fog forming across the area. some of it is locally dense. it's really along our shore communities that we're seeing visibility. about a quarter mile in at lantic city and tom's river. this will continue to spread inland. a dense fog advisory is out for mostly nej nblg and delaware. everyone will be dealing with patchy fog tomorrow morning. it's just these areas of seeing about a quarter mile visibility. so be very careful on the roadways. give yourself a little extra time because that fog will be out there. so are the mild temperatures by 8:00 in the morning. 53 degrees, the fog will bring some drizzle with it by 10:00. and, by noon, this will be our laes warm day for a pretty long time. already 61 degrees by noon. so i'll show you when the warm day will get here and how cold it will get straight ahead. >> the pennsylvania state trooper who survived an ambush is now in the new york city hospital according to the times tribune. an ambulance transported trooper alex douglas to the hospital for special surgery. state police say this is not an emergency. the hospital specializes in orthopedics. eric frein is accused of killing corporal brian dixon last month. tomorrow, the grove barracks where the shooting happened is scheduled to resume full operations. >> the rally's plan for tomorrow at bartram high school after a third assault on a teacher there in a month. video shows a substitute teacher lying in a hallway after he was attacked by a student. education advocates, parents and students expected to rally for school safety at 3:00 tomorrow. >> a philadelphia teenager is followed and then grabbed as she walked. the special victims unit tells us the 17-year-old girl says the man followed her from city hall on public transportation all the way from chelten avenue. he tried to crag her into an abandoned lot when the witness came to rescue. the man ran towards limekilmn pike. here at six flags great adventu adventure, we brought you the fire live as breaking news last night at 11:00. two of them were in an enclosure that caught fire in a safari around 10:00 last night. there were also several brush fires burning about a half mile away from great adventure last night. but investigators weren't sure if there's a connection. >> new at 11:00, another casino voicing opposition to plans for a new casino in philadelphia. it simply doesn't make sense. ron bauman said that this move would threaten the viability of the area's four existing casinos. the pennsylvania gaming board is scheduled to vote next week to decide whether to grant another casino license. last week, philadelphia sugar house casino petitioned the board to reconsider. >> on this veteran's day, we salute those who fought courageously for our country. the day was marked with ceremonies and events throughout our entire area. philadelphia mayor michael nutter and other leaders honored veter rans in center city this morning. the mayor layed a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. speakers live from the small school in chester county. denise, the school president apologized today? >> reporter: he did apologize through e-mail saying he'll choose his words more carefully next time. now, students are still talking about that speech that put the president in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. >> the way women allow us to treat them. >> reporter: the speech that landed lincoln university's president in hot water is the talk among students tonight. but dr. robert jennings apologizing for what he said during september's all-women's convocation. >> when he was saying that, i felt like he was accusing girls of just lying in general. >> the speech was for students and staff. in it, he spoke of three cases where women lied about rape because they didn't like their encounters with young men. >> reporter: the chester county district attorney's office says the president's comments are inaccurate. the university is mandated to contact the d.a. eets office with any cases of sexual assault. but only one atempted sex assault, not three alleged rapes, were reported to the d.a. kyle kelly, president of student group people stand united braught o together men from campus to take a stand for male leaderer ship and against domestic violence. they all received dr. jennings written apology through e-mail. >> i got where he was coming from. >> a change.org petition calling for president jennings to be fired has more than 340 signatures. some accept his apology. others are more skeptical. >> i feel like he wouldn't have apology jazzed unless it was stated as it is now. >> i'm pretty sure it was sincere. >> now, as a result of this speech, the university will be holding sessionings on how to report sexual assaults and sexual misconduct. to hear more of the take a look at all of this snow. be glad this isn't close by. it's way out in michigan. more than two feet have falling een since yesterday in the upper peninsula. and to make matters worse, more is on the way. hopefully, this is a long way off for us. months away, right? >> i just hope in general that we don't see that type of snow. but anything could happen this winter. although, no, it is not in the next seven days. so that is good news. well, we are watching, though, as we go through tonight. it's some patchy fog across the area. that's going to be the first thing you see when you wake up tomorrow morning. north and west visibility looks pretty good until you get to the shore. at lantic city is coming in with a quarter mile visibility right now. so the dense fog advisory is up until testimony e 10:00 tomorrow morning for new jersey and much of del e delaware. tomorrow's temperatures will be staying mild. and then we have much colder air moving in later on this week. temperatures for tonight, they're staying mild, too. 54 degrees in allentown, still the mid 50s around the philadelphia area. even the surrounding suburbs, mid 50s all the way to the shore. but this will be changing very soon. our avenue riej e rang high is 50 degrees, tomorrow, mid 60s, but tomorrow is going to be if last day for this type of weather for a very long time, it look like. by thursday and friday, we will be dropping well below what's considered normal for this time of year and temperatures will stay cold, too. so, for tomorrow, we still have this warm flow coming in from the south and west. but this is the only part of the country, really, that's seeing this type of weather, at least on the east coast. now, we are seeing colder air back off to our west getting closer, a lot closer, and it will be here as we end out 2 week e week. that's the cold air that we have to look forward to for several days. not just for a short period of time. the snow asoes yatsed with the cold air is up in canada now. same weather system that wraulgts those two feet of snow to parts of michigan. we will see the fog forming tomorrow morning. so this will be in the forecast. future visibility keeps on dropping as we go into the early morning hours. tomorrow, much of us are seeing dengs fog around, but it does stick around through the noon hour. through wednesday afternoon, we're going to stay on the dry side. even as we go into thursday, pretty dry. and then by friday, snow up in parts of new york state. another weather system moves in and temperaturings will be cold, cold enough to positionally support some snow further north and west of philadelphia. most of us will be seeing rain out of that as much. bud we are looking at some frozen precipitation across the area as we go into early monday, possibly. areas of drizzle, 53 for the low in philadelphia, 47 in the suburbs. tomorrow, fog and drizzle. we are mild. but, again, that's the last day. look at thursday, 50 for the high temperature, 44 friday, 44 degrees on saturday. then, as we go into sunday, ifs going to be cold, even colder on monday. john? >> hey, sheena. good eagles win last night, right? what part of the team
