developing tonight, philadelphia police chased a suspected car thief through north philadelphia in kensssing ton for more than a half an hour. sky 10 was over the scene. at one point during the chase, police tried to block the driver with their cruisers. but he pulled on to the sidewalk, ran over a sign and got away. the the suspected later ditched that car and simply walked away right there. police walked up to the man on the street, he put his hands up and police took him into custody. new at 11:00, police in bucks county are patrolling aggressively after a series of attempted break-ins, all in the same neighborhood. a flashlight was pointed inside one home. there have been four atempts just in the past month in the stover mill development. the most recent last night on tarleton place, the night before, beechwood place, last night on williams place nbc10 spoke to the only family who saw the suspect firsthand. >> the incidents have occurred at different times of day and in slight lid different ways. sometimes it's a window that's been tampered with. in other cases, it's door that's been found ajar. with a cluster of cases, police have now put residents on alert. >> and reporter: residents were stunned that someone took a knife to tires up and down several streets. dave plachko is among the last of his neighbors replacing his slashed tires tonight. it's a couple hundred bucks. more than 178 cars in this neighborhood had tires slashed this week. most were discovered thursday morning. this homeowner took pictures. >> my husband was heading out to work about 7:45. he went outside and noticed his two front tires were slashed. >> reporter: police believe the slashings happened wednesday night into thursday morning while it was raining. >> with're wondering
