earlier today closer to 4:00 and temperatures at 43 degrees. by 9:00 p.m., still dealing with scattered showers and the rain showers will pick up and, once again, saturday evening. i'll go over your blocking the ramp to 76 westbound. cottman avenue, no delays and no accidents to report on 95. dealing with fire activity in west philadelphia between market street and ludlow street. you can take 56, if you need to get around it. chris? new from overnight, philadelphia police are looking for someone who shot a man outside a bar. this happened around 12:30 a.m. at 40th and market streets. investigators tell us the man was talking to a woman outside of natalie's lounge when someone walked up and shot him in the leg. no word on a motive for the shooting. the man is in stable condition. two minutes after 4:00 now. in the search for shane montgomery police are hoping that surveillance video will lead to clues. montgomery was last seen leaving a bar in manayunk the night before thanksgiving. jesse gary is live in the bar district. jesse, some plans to canvas this area that investigators have been scouring for more than a week now, right? >> chris, that's exactly right. family and friends plan to walk main street here later today. witnesses say that sane shane montgomery made a left and walked south along main street. the bar's bouncer said he saw shane 45 minutes later on main street. fbi and local investigators are now focusing the search for this young man on an area bounded by the schuylkill river in henry avenue and green lane over to lincoln drive. surveillance video collected from businesses in that area will lead to shane's whereabouts. >> frame by frame. it's taking time. there's a lot of video that they have. >> the actions planned later today by one local hospital to help draw more attention to this case. live jesse gary. police use of force. those topics are at the heart of nationwide protests over grand jury decisions in new jersey and new york. in new york, chicago, minneapolis and other cities demonstrators took to the streets to block traffic and express outrage. these protests come after grand juries in ferguson, missouri, and new york city decided not to prosecute white police officers for killing unarmed black men. in philadelphia today, educators, administers will issue a joint message at the hands of police. last night more than 100 people gathered at this church in north philadelphia to form strategies for future protests in philadelphia. 4:04 now. we have some new information on the bill cosby controversy. a woman suing cosby for sexual battery that allegedly occurred in 1974 tried to extort $250,000 to keep her from timing that suit. cosby's lawyer filed a motion asking the judge to dismiss the suit and ask the accuser to pay more than $30,000 to cover cosby's legal costs. in los angeles where that woman filed the suit, the police chief there says his department will investigate any sexual abuse complaints brought against bill cosby no matter how much time has gone by. the chief said so far his department has received no allegations. also, the u.s. navy has revoked cosby's title. the sexual abuse accusations against cosby conflict with the navy's core values. cosby enlisted in the navy in 1956 and served four years before being honorably discharged. happening today. president obama will announce his choice for the next secretary of defense. it's expected that the president will name ashton carter to replace chuck hagel. carter is a montgomery county native who served as defense secretary. hagel resigned last month but will stay on the job until his successor is confirmed. today, pennsylvania governor elect tom wolf will meet with president obama. wolf will join a handful of other governors at the white house. they're expected to talk with the president and vice president about the economy. he takes office on january 20th. and today new jersey governor chris christie wraps up his trade mission to canada. christie will attend a wreath laying ceremony in ottawa before making an appearance in toronto. the goal is to promote energy and business between new jersey and canada. this morning, there is some relief surrounding that hepatitis a scare. a customer has tested negative for the virus after a second round of blood work. after a worker at rosa's catering tested positive for hepatitis a. hundreds came out to a vaccination clinic. doctors say the virus is highly contagious and caused by poor hygie hygiene. >> someone not washing their hands properly and then putting it in their mouth or touching a utensil and then using that utensil. >> i wasn't concerned, but better safe than sorry. i got take out from there. it's a shame. >> here's what health officials want you to know if you ate at rosa's between november -- the cdc says it can include yellow skin and eyes and tiredness and cause a stomach ache or nausea. it is often transmitted from showers throughout the day and definitely throughout your weekend. so, here's a look at our headlines. here's what we're going to expect. rainfall moving in and going to affect tonight heading into tomorrow night. dry conditions for the eagles game and we're tracking a nor'easter as we head into next week. your current temperatures as you head out the door this morning. 25 degrees in mount pocono and 38 in willmington and currently at 37 degrees in atlantic city and almost 40 degrees in wildwood and freezing in trenton. our satellite radar shot shows those clouds and then also dealing with rainfall that will move from the midwest and head closer to us as we push into the rest of today. so, by 4:00 p.m., we'll start to see a chance of scattered showers. this is mainly going to be confined to lancaster county, but continue to spread as we head into the rest of your friday night. by saturday morning at 7:00 a.m., another round of scattered showers moves in to parts of allentown and then as we head to the evening hours. by 6:00 p.m., this is when the rain is heavy at times, especially for suburbs north and west of the city and especially to the shore. you can probably run a few errands in your late morning hours on saturday and saturday evening, that's when the rainfall will pick up. by sunday things start to clear up and you'll be able to also get a few more errands in. for today, our temperatures will range between 41 and 44 degrees. again, late showers are expected and i'll have your seven-day forecast coming up in about ten minutes. >> all right, brittany. nine between 37th and 38th street. you can take lansdale drive. a vehicle that hit a pole and some wires down, as well. also impacts drivers trying to get on to 76 westbound from girard avenue and now going to be blocked off right now, as well. 76 itself, is okay. and so is the vine street expressway. this is in center city westbound as drivers make their way out to 76. the entire length in both directions. chris? we also have some breaking news just into the newsroom here that we're following out of west philadelphia where firefighters are now on the scene of a house fire on. firefighters say there was a lot of fire shooting from the house when they arrived on scene. no word yet on any injuries. if anyone was inside the home when this fire broke out or what caused it. we're checking on it, though. monique braxton on the way to the scene and we'll have video of that fire as soon as we'll get a camera there. also this morning a report on the new jersey bridge scandal reveals governor chris christie's role in the tie up. radio active gas seeping into homes in this area. one home, in fact, tested off the charts. we'll tell you what you need to do to protect your family. but, first, you know there are a lot of holiday events planned across the area tonight and throughout the weekend and we'll show you those throughout this morning. here's one in philadelphia. and then also one in cape may. we're right back after this. 4:13 this morning. in the jersey jam bridge scandal a legislative report found no evidence that chris christie was involved in a scheme to create traffic jams on the george washington bridge. that report drafted by new jersey lawmakers investigating the traffic mess says no conclusive evidence showing that christie was aware of the lane closures last fall. directly implemented the closures, but important questions like the motive remain unanswered. the u.s. attorney office is still investigating the scandal. former philadelphia traffic court judge will spend two years in prison and pay a $5,000 fine for her connection to an alleged ticket scheme. a judge sentenced her yesterday for lying to a grand jury. she is the second of four judges to be sentenced in that scandal which led to changes in philadelphia's traffic law scandal. also charged in a separate bribery investigation. she agreed to plead guilty in that case. in burlington county family and friends will gather tomorrow to remember three children who police say were killed by their mother. funeral services will be held tomorrow for nicholas, alexander and nadia. their mother janine lepage shot them in their home and then shot herself. so far no comment from new jersey state police on a possible motive. investigators in montgomery county say a fire that destroyed a police officer's home is suspicious. a story we first brought to you as breaking news saturday morning and take a look at the cell phone video of that fire. the police officer and his family were on vacation in florida yesterday morning when this fire broke out. investigators spent yesterday combing through the damage trying to find a cause. no word yet on why they say they consider this suspicious. neighbors packed a meeting room to learn more about a radio active gas that is seeping into homes in that area. test results for one family's home broke records. people learned what they can do to protect their homes from the effect of radon gas. it rises from the dirt and rocks beneath homes and long-term exposure can cause lung cancer. a home tested off the charts for a gas. that home tested at 4,000 parts per leader. >> especially in pennsylvania because of our geological formation. it's everywhere in pennsylvania. for some reezp we're seeing this hit in the center valley of lehigh county. >> home test kit will cost you around $20. if your home does have a high reading, you should hire a company to install ventilation throughout the house. 4:16 and we have new information now about a broken pipeline that spilled millions of gallons of raw sewage. township officials have agreed to pay a fine of more than $110,000 and fix that pipeline, which has spilled at least three times since 2012. environmental groups have threatened to sue the township. happening this morning at 9:00, a rally for the environment. activists from across the region plan to demonstrate outside a conference at the philadelphia chamber of commerce. rally organizers say they oppose the conference's focus on fossil fuel investment. south philadelphia residents had a chance to weigh in on what their neighborhood would look like in 20 years. the philadelphia city planning commission got feedback from neighbors at south philadelphia high school. this was the first of three rounds of public meetings to talk about the south district plan. it's also part of philadelphia's 2035, which serves as the blue print for projects that will shape the city over the next 25 years. happening today, a 9/11 memorial and first responders statue will be unveiled in atlantic city. a ceremony will be held on the boardwalk and the memorial will include a bronze statue of a police officer, firefighter and a canine officer granted on a base. it pays tribute to the 2001 stairer attacks. today in camden people will come together on battleship "new jersey" to remember pearl harbor. the commemoration will begin at 10:00 this morning and mark the 73rd anniversary of the bombing of pearl harbor that took place on december 7th, 1941. congressman donald norcross will be the keynote speaker. now your nbc 10 weekend. the good news if you plan on heading out to the eagles' game, we're expecting dry conditions although cold and windy and tracking a nor'easter as we head into the early part of next week. a live look right now from philadelphia, 37 degrees. clouds will continue to increase throughout the day. wind speeds out of the northeast at seven miles per hour. temperaturewise throughout the rest of the region, 25 degrees in poconos and 26 in allentown and 27 in pottstown and mid-30s in glasboro and 37 in atlantic city and stone harbor currently at 39 degrees. satellite radar shot shows those clouds are starting to increase and as we widen out the picture here, some of the moisture is at now moving closer to us. so, we will see this first batch moving in on friday and the first batch moving in as we head to saturday. here is your future weather. as we head into tonight, by 8:00 p.m., a chance of showers throughout parts of allentown and even into our suburbs to the north and west and then we'll see that rainfall picking up into our overnight hours tonight. by saturday at 8:00 a.m., another round of rain expected in allentown and take a while for all the moisture to become widespread rainfall. so, for philadelphia our heaviest rain closer to 4:00 and that will continue all the way to 1:00. if you need to run errands on saturday, try to do it before 5:00. by sunday things start to clear up and we'll see windy conditions and wind speeds close to 20, 25 miles per hour. your seven-day forecast shows that we are going to see your temperatures warming on saturday, high, but you may be surprised to hear how much your vote cost in this election. relief for troubled homeowners. what the government is doing to ensure millions of borrowers can can afford their mortgage payments. first, as we're giving you a look this morning at holiday events taking shape across the region. two more events happening the first in trenton and the second in ardmore. 4:125. more help is on the way for homeowners. people whose mortgages were changed to keep from being foreclosed on could receive loans from the government next year. those payments would impact 1 million borrowers. they received reduced mortgage rates through the affordable home modification program when the recession hit. we are adding up the record costs this morning in this year's race for pennsylvania governor. new campaign finance reports shows that spending soared beyond $82 million. that works out to more than just $23 per vote in the november election. overall, governor tom corbett spend $28 million while tom wolf spent $32 million. that shatters the record by $12 million. slot machine revenue went down nearly 4% in november, compared to last year. sugar house casino saw the biggest dropoff in the area down more than 6%. sam's casino in bethlehem dropped off by more than 5%. but valley forge casino in king of prussia went against the grain growing more than 14% in slot
