Were in for a pretty good day today. Tomorrow is going to be somewhat different. It gets pretty windy tomorrow but not too much wind out there that matter most of the day. Now weve got a cloud cover, the cloud bank started moving backwards over cape cod last night. So with the cloud cover we have a protective blanket keeping it milder there, around 50 across much of the cape. The cloud bank moves into Plymouth County and then beyond that, its clear. That cloud bank will slowly press westward as the day goes thing and then getting cloudier inland. Theres in a cloud bank offshore. We have another cloud bank coming in from the west which will sort of cause of after cause a wheeze play. But much of metro west is going to have sunshine all day long. The clouds will arrive in metro west at some point this afternoon. Theres a lot of sunday shine. Tomorrow we get a brief burst of showers in the morning. Temperatures falling a few degrees tor a few minutes. All right. Now to a developing story. Police are searching for this driver who plowed down a woman in a crosswalk and then just sped away. There is a very distinct detail on the van that could help track down the driver. Wbz katie brace has more. Reporter the video captures the moment a woman in a crosswalk without warning, a hoyt minivan strikes her. The driver keeps going. Do that to, you know, an older woman. Reporter kylie lives nearby and saw the video. Im surprised because on these or the other ones, you have to be careful, look twice because they dont stop. Reporter a witness says the minivan initially stopped at the intersection of fourth and broadway and the woman tried to make sure the driver saw her. The car was at the stop sign and she was banging on the car and i guess the car wasnt paying attention, so h 911 as other people ran to help the 72yearold woman off the street. Its a very street. Reporter traffic on broodway stays constant throughout the day. We were there a fenderbender one block away brought traffic to a stand still. Pedestrians say they find it tough to navigate. People here never know when its the right of way since people are running, always want to rush. People dont look. A winchester man has pleaded guilty to murdering his own mother. Matthew mcaveeny beat the 70 year old to death inside her apartment two years ago. Mcaveeny has been sentenced to take a good look at these surveillance photos. Wooster police say this man robbed three separate Honey Farms Convenience stores in the last month. Take a good look. This morning, there is an arrest warrant out for the laurens mother who overdosed in a store with her little girl watching over her. Its overcast in new bedford. 50 degrees on cape cod. So this cloud bank, its a deck of lower clouds, its going to start pressing westward slowly today. But well see a lot of sunshine. The farther west you live, the longer the sunshine is going to be lasting. High temperatures across the nation, that chunk of chill out of canada will only make it 32 for a high in minneapolis today. The cold air has been charging southeast where they had such weeks and weeks of warm weather. Theyre finally getting the cold shot here. But the cold air hasnt made it down to florida yet. It will be 80 in orlando today. Heres the cold front on its way with the milder air ahead of it. A narrow sliver of showers which we will experience first thing tomorrow morning. It wont last long. It will come down mostly light but a few pockets within that line of light rain. Well have moderate showers and then its done. But behind it well have the a lot of wind and a lot showers in the mountains of western Northern New England where it will accumulate. Here is this bank of cloudness that is slowly pressing westward. It will be in a line of just east providence, almost up to boston. So mainly close to the i95 corridor by 11 00 to noontime. And then slowly that will try to press westward but wont make progress until late afternoon. Its just here that its going to be cloudy all day and right then we might have some specks of mist coming in from the ocean and may be a sprinkle or so this evening. But that will be it. It should be nothing more than that. Note during the night, this bank of showers comes northeastward so in the Early Morning hours that bank of showers will come through boston. The snow showers in the mountains and well stay 9040s for the most part during tomorrow and then were looking at the snow which may accumulate up to several inches, two to four inches possibly and then Higher Elevation in the ten inches in far north vermont and New Hampshire. As far as going for halloween travel, its looking pretty good to me across much of the eastern part of the nation. For us, for thanksgiving, some more sunshine a late day shower is possible. It should be a pretty good day overall with a temperature around 47 degrees for thanksgiving day. Then there will be some showers on friday. So this week is going to be much colder than last week was. Its going to be a lot of wind starting tomorrow morning. I wouldnt be surprised a few snowflakes.
