of his the platform. we are live along the red line. >> reporter: this attack -- happened on the platform behind me. the suspect was wearing a halloween mask. i spoke with the operator's family. they say he's at home tonight recovering. a typical trolley stop at the cedar drovesation sunday morning in dorchester turned attacked by a man who told him he didn't have any money for his fare. the man punched him in the head before pulling him off the trolley and on to the platform. the employee was knocked unconscious. the suspect was wearing a whitehall even with mask and costume. >> that's a sad dimension, too, i guess. we love halloween. >> john rides the trolley. >> tragic, i think. and unfortunately, not so away as two trolley passengerser passengers, two -- passengers called for help. a senseless and violent attack or a public employee is intolerable. he has been with them 18 months and was treated and released from the hospital. residents respond to the attack. >> that's crazy. the way shouldn't be like that for people in the world. you should be able to be safe everywhere you go. >> why would you do that?
