it happened just before 6:00 last night at the mcdonald's on highway 321. 22-year-old yonge is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. police say he shot 22-year-old and 28-year-old after domestic dispute. layle died at the scene. watts is in the hospital in critical condition. you may have run into issues in northwest charlotte this morning driving. a tractor-trailer took out the powerlines on bradford drive. lights started malfunction later on brook shire. police say the driver ran from the scene. no injuries were reported. crews are still working to clear the scene. 800 people are still without power at this hour. governor mccrory has ordered the north carolina department of transportation to get out of the contract for the i-77 toll lane the move after a company building a similar road in texas declared bankruptcy. we have more on this change of course. >> reporter: wbtv investigation brought us out last month, we wanted to drive the highway, see for ourselves what was going on in texas on highway 130. it was an eye opening experience. not many drivers were on the highway. i want to show you video, what we brought back from texas, highway 130. now it is bankrupt as of yesterday. the company that operates that road declared bankruptcy just last night. we broke that news on wbtv. it is owned by cintra, contracted to build the i-77 toll lane. north carolina transportation secretary is looking for ways to break the contract. that is welcome news to the >> at the end of the day, you have used texas as the poster child of why this is great financially, and from program perspective, so now it really blows up in their face. >> we reached out to cintra. they told us the bankruptcy will have no effect on the i-77 toll lane project. making political fodder ways after news of cintra filing bankruptcy, attorney general, a democrat running for governor, released a statement in response, and said in part, even the governor has to dited now he cut a bad deal for north carolina. he should stop stalling and should have been signed. >> four member robbed a southeast charlotte convenience store at gunpoint, four suspects have been arrested. we brought you this this morning. police say two men went inside the store, pulled out a gun, stole cash, from behind the register. they ran across the street to a car waiting on they winter weather advisories starting tonight, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. for most of the north carolina mountains. that includes boone and blowing rock, west jefferson, and banner elk. we are talking about one to four inches of snow possible in the higher elevations. certainly accumulated snow this afternoon. you have showers and thunderstorms, now in the upstate of georgia. that snow is pushing into the see watauga, ashe, avery, already looking at light snow falling. it has been relatively cold the last 24 to 36 hours, so it will stick relatively quickly on area roads in the high country. 44 in morning with lingering snow showers the high country. look how quickly this clear skies out, friday afternoon, off the coast, and high pressure builds as we head into the weekend. more sunshine and warming temperatures friday, saturday, and sunday. our rain chances pretty much nil as we head into the weekend, pretty much through the middle of the next week. overnight lows upper 20's, snow showers for the mountains, upper 30's in the charlotte area. friday afternoon, sunny skies, chilly 41, boone, 56 morganton and 57 tomorrow afternoon in the seven-day forecast, i think you will like
