victim well. george lettis has more details. >> police say brian eggleston shot and killed alicia avery and her daughter. the bodies were found on monday inside the welcome inn in parkville when police did a welfare check. police believe alicia avery and the suspect were arguing at that location a few days before the bodies were discovered. avery's sister says the two were engaged. >> i am really happy that they found him. i am. i'm really happy. and now my family -- my sister can rest. she can rest, as well as my niece. >> avery was supposed to be a witness in a baltimore city case. eggleston could face a third murder charge because avery was pregnant. >> a shooting in west baltimore brings the murder rateto 100. someone shot and killed christopher samuel in what appears to be robbery. that homicide puts the murder rate slightly above 2010's pace. shots fired in southwest baltimore. officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. we're told he died of his injuries. >> an instructor is behind bars, charged with sexually assaulting one of the students. police say michael lyons engaged in sexual acts with eigha 14-year-old girl. police believe there could be other victims. >> based on the information that the detectives have, the do think it is possible there are other victims. we want to urge anyone who might know about something like this or who might have been involved with this instructor to come forward. >> earth treks said they fired lyons after they learned about his release. he's being held on $100,000 bail. >> outrage from some parents. a principal was fired for speaking out. dr. camille bell was let go last week. officials would not comment, saying it is a personal matter. organizers plan to circulate petitions saying they will do fight that turned into a murder. the woman was pregnant. police arrested 28-year-old brian eggleston for the murders of his fiance, alicia avery, and her 4-year-old daughter, darry'el parker. >> it just -- it hurts me so bad because -- they did not deserve that. >> autopsy showed the mother and daughter were shot inside an apartment at the welcome inn in parkville. their bodies were found monday after authoritiese went to do a welfare check. the victims had been missing since thursday. authorities believe the relationship between avery and eggleston was getting rocky right before the shooting. >> we are aware of reports of a domestic argument inside and outside that location several days prior to discovering the bodies. we're not certain that this is the individual involved in that verbal altercation with the victim. we believe it is. >> police had put avery and her daughter up in the motel because she was a witness for an upcoming trial that was unrealted to this case. eggleston is in jail in baltimore city. he was arrested on monday for an unrelated drug charge. george lettis, wbal-tv 11 news. >> authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death at the coca-cola plant in east baltimore. fire crews responded around 10:30 wednesday border. a trailer fell onto a man identified as a vendor. >> 8 more baltimore schools are suspected of cheating on the maryland assessment test. the city schools ceo announced the probe as they released the declining test scores. >> there is no such thing -- >> the press conference was called to talk about test scores which are down. more city's schools work under the microscope for cheating. pcl would not talk about specifics. >> i wanted to say that the progress was real, because it has been astonishingly problematic. >> elementary and middle school reading scores are down by 3.4%. mouth scores decline by 4.9%. teacher turnover and student attendance are blamed for some of the decline. and now any proposal to add an extra day of the schedule. >> we see this as a model that works in some of our schools. the question is, can quickly get to particular grades? >> that is a proposal not sitting well with the head of the school administrators you in. >> i would prefer parents of our children making that type of decision. i don't think that is a decision the school system should make. issue come from the parents of the children. >> maryland students made slight gains in elementary and middle school reading and math. early childhood programs are credit for the increase. >> they are coming to
