The issue came up at last nights city council a new policy in 2015 meant retirees 65 and older had to get off the citys health care plan. With a new Medicare Supplement plan, employees received an annual hra. It meant they had 1,400 dollars to spend on out of pocket expenses. After nine months of the program the city said it would no longer fund the hra.
