Breaking news and Police Search a section of central park overnight after a tourist told police that a man offered up a young boy for sex. It reportedly happened near the bow bridge late last night and Eyewitness News reporter diana rocco is live now in central park with the latest for us now, gion a. Reporter lori, good morning. A search of the park turned up empty tonight, but this Morning Police are taking this threat very seriously. Police spent the better part of the night searching this west park. Just after midnight, a man in his 50s from california said he was on a walking trail near bow bridge which is near west 74th street. Him with an 11yearold boy and asked him if he wanted to have sex with the boy for 300. The tourist quickly said no and went back to his room and called 911. That man is described as having dark hair, about 35 years old, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket with a fur hood and blue jeans. The child who was with him was wearing a red or orange lightweight jacket. Again, police did not find any sign of them after a search of the park overnight. Developing right now, 18 people arrested overnight after a rowdy party in queens this. Is new video from the scene. Police responded to a banquet hall on jamaica avenue just before midnight. Thats where 18 people were tablingen into custody, charging one with Disorderly Conduct and one is charge with obstruction. Its not clear fiat Party Started at the banquet hall. Overnight we learned four people, including a Police Officer were isolated and evaluated after they were exposed to that white powdery substance here at trump tower and were told both individuals are going to be okay. It was around 8 00 last night when a Campaign Worker opened a letter that was addressed to donald trump inside the Trumps Campaign offices here on the fifth floor. Nz the envelope was a white powder substance. That Campaign Worker immediately called the police and the fifth floor was evacuated. Hazmat experts took the powder, determined it was harmless and gave the building the all clear just after 11 00 last night. Meanwhile donald trump was not here at the big. Campaigning in Orange County, california. Antitrump protesters erupted outside the Convention Center where trump was speaking. Police did their best to maintain order, but the protesters blocked intersections, they vandalized police cars and at times they even fought with donald trump supporters. More than 20 people were arrested last night, but there were no reports of any injuries. Back here live outside trump tower, this is the third time that a white powdery substance has been sent to a member of the trump family. You may recall in march an envelope was sent to eric trump, thats trumps son and a threatening letter. And then two days later another letter was sent to Mary Ann Berry trump, thats trumps sister who is a federal judge in pennsylvania. In all of the cases, that substance turned out to be harmless. This latest case remains under investigation. Now to an eyewitness exclusive and video show as dramatic attack in chinatown when a Restaurant Owner tried to defend one of his waitresses. Police say this cell phone video shows 33yearold montrez gomez on top of the victim, beating him outside his restaurant. The whole thing started when can wong defended a waitress he says gomez was harassing. Thats when gomez punched a hole in the wall. He went to turn to the restaurants owner to get help while the wife was on the phone calling 911, he saw a Police Vehicle outside, so he said, well, you know, let me go get the Police Officer to help me out with this stuff. So he went outside the store, and when he was walking out, thats when i was attacked from the back. The men in uniform outside the restaurant turned out to be traffic agents trained to call police in case of an emergency. Surveillance video eventually shows officers arriving on the scene an then taking gomez into custody. 4 42. It was a scary moment in the sky for passengers aboard a flight that took off from newark last night. An engine failure forced their landing. The united flight was heading to omaha, nebraska when the pilot realized an engine was experiencing trouble. The flight was diverted to cleveland. Inspected. Thrrvetle was also trouble on another flight out of our area. Three people were hurt on an American Airlines flight that took off from hartford, a beverage cart came loose during the flight and shot around the cabin. Two passengers and a Flight Attendant got hit by it. They were all evaluated after landing in charlotte. The epa epa will shell out 1 million in response to the mine spill in colorado that caused toxic sludge to travel through three states. That money will go to the to colorado and new mexico and utah governments as well as the navajo and southern ute tribes. The agency accidentally triggered the august spill at the gold king mine. Its considering requests for an additional 750,000 in expenses. Dramatic rescue is caught save a driver from rising flood waters. Now, the drivers car veered off the road and got stuck in gulfport, mississippi, and thats when a Good Samaritan ran right up to the water to help pull the driver to safety. Then we get into tonight and you see this rain coming in after sunset on the computer models, and youll see that then as we get to overnight hours this starts to break up. And look at this, sunshine, beautiful weather on saturday as we go through the day. But as we go into sunday, here we go, overnight saturday and sun, here comes some more saturday and sunday, here comes some more rain for sunday. There goes that wave of low pressure that im talking about for tonight, and then that goes by and then this High Pressure gets a chance to work its magic and give us some sunshine on saturday. A possible terrorist hit list naming thousands of people from new york was apparently created by a group trying to imitate isis. Senator Charles Schumer says hes learned from the fbi that the list was not made by isis itself as originally thought. Sources also say many of the listed online are actually outdated. The fbi and the nypd are reaching out to people on the list to tell them they dont really have much to worry about. This happens every so often, some group, sometimes its isis, in this case its not, puts out names to scare people, and so far, praise god, theres been no followup on any threat like this.
