Reporter shirleen, members still inside the going over evidence and trying to piece together what happened here. Just on the other side of the mcdonalds is the 50 police precinct. That was no deterrent for the knife wielding suspect that we have been told followed the victim across the mcdonalds parking lot, cornered him then stabbed him repeatedly. He worked his way up. Reporter the stabbing happened less than 50 yards from the 50 precinct. Officers responded almost instantly but it wasnt fast enough to catch the suspect or save garcias life who was bleeding and barely alive. I couldnt believe it. Reporter Police Believe the suspect they are looking for is a homeless man, a familiar face to police that frequents the area and the mcdonalds. Garcia may have known his killer. Detectives are going over Surveillance Video at the mcdonalds to try to get a good picture of the suspect.
