The fouralarm fire burned through two homes in the flatbush section injury five people including three children. Eyewitness News Reporter mallory hoff has been tweeting about the aftermath of this and joins us live from the scene. Investigators telling us that its still unclear how this fire started but that they do believe that it was suspicious. I want to give you an idea of what is going on here right now. You can see investigators gathered in the front area of this home. They say they believe this is where the fire started and this is part of what makes it suspicious. They say the fire very quickly grew and shot across to the home next door. One of these homes appears to be a total loss and the other home significantly damaged. Reporter flames ripped through two homes in the flatbush section of brooklyn. Two adults and three children were injured in the blaze. They are expected to be okay. Now investigators are looking into the cause of the Early Morning fire. Its certainly suspicious. We do we have been told there was a similar fire in the neighborhood. Reporter newscopter 7 was above the fire as neighbors watched. I saw flames shooting out of the house over there. It was like unbelievable, like a giant inferno. Reporter Police Nearby say arson has been a problem in the area. Neighbors are trying to understand what happened here. The house was redone, brand new. Everything was new. They just had a baby. Lucky nobody got hurt. Reporter as you can see here, this is a street that is lined with old victorian homes that investigators are telling us have a tendency to burn rather quickly. They say that is exactly what happened here. Investigators tell us they will be on scene for the better part of this afternoon. Police released new video of a gas station attendant callously dragged by a robber driving away from the scene in new jersey. The robber who is on the loose actually paid for ten dollars worth of gas at a middletown gas station in august. Then he grabbed the attendants apron, full of money, dragging him about 35 feet. The apron wound up ripping and the crook got away with about 1500 bucks. We have an update in the case of a Wild Police Chase in new jersey. The victim has died from his injuries. Union county prosecutors say a pickup truck driver was critically injured during a police chase. The truck crashed through the exit 54 offramp in him side after 12 45 a. M. He later died from his injuries in the hospital. No word why police were chasing him. Charges are pending against a second person. One man is in the hospital and a driver is under arrest after a chaotic chain of events on the long island expressway. Police say a driver ran off after a crash in holtsville. Reporter reporter a crazy span of events. It ends here in patchogue when this man jackknifes a tractor trailer on route 112 then desperately tries to break into this car dealership to [ inaudible ]. This was the end result when Police Caught up with jonathan moore. They had to place a bag over his head to restrain him. He is charged with leaving the scene of this car crash on exit 62 on the eastbound side of the l. I. E. Three cars in a minor crash but someone chasing after moore is struck by a van on the service road. Cops say moore fled on foot. The manager of pride solvents and chemicals picks up the story from there. He said moore stole a giant tractor trailer and in the surveillance video, look carefully as he rams it right into the very pricey metal gate. How big was the gate . That gate is 45 feet. The department of Health Officials say a 65yearold man died from the mosquito born illness in Passaic County last saturday. The victim was one of seven cases of west nile reported in new jersey this year. Most people infected with the virus dont develop symptoms. Those over 60 years of age are at greater risk. A Bipartisan Group of new York Lawmakers made an impassioned plea this morning asking congress not to let the james a Zadroga Health and compensation act expire next month.
