>> i certainly hope not. but it certainly is concerning to us that a police officer, whether retired or active, would not know to submit and turn in evidence or what is believed to be evidence. was a souvenir for 18 years likely isn't evidence at all. sources tell us the initial investigation show it couldn't be the murder weapon, the knife not matching the details of the crime. >> reporter: investigators who worked on the case say over the years they have received 150 knives. some of them recovered during the demolition and reconstruction of this house. >> reporter: still authorities are testing the knife for possible dna evidence. >> it would be interesting if there were some evidence on that knife that pointed to who might have helped to bury it. >> reporter: the news, breaking just as the new series american crime story the people versus o. j. simpson is in full swing. but it was too late to slow the tide of tweets and speculation. >> abc news. police are searching for the person who opened fire outside a queens nightclub, shooting a livery driver in the head. robert castillo is in critical a pole after he was shot. this is surveillance video you'll see only on eyewitness news. it shows the crash early yesterday morning. investigators say castillo, who is 37, was working as a driver's. off. they went inside but ran back out because they were being chased by the gunman. they jumped back into castillo's suv. >> we believe the people that were being shot at were inside his vehicle at the time. and instead of the person hitting the people he was targeting, he hit mr. castillo, he hit the driver. >> reporter: investigators say castillo is not a licensed livery driver, but he has been working for a bronx car service for the last month. there has been violence before at that club. about a year ago three people were slashed during a hip hop performance. millions of women could soon be getting money back, that is because of a class women are unfairly taxed. women are required to pay taxes on feminine products while other products are not taxed. eyewitness news reporter shirley nationalcot has more. >> reporter: it is something you have to pay more for this monthly necessity. >> it seems like a weird thing to tax. >> reporter: now there is a movement to get rid of the so- called tampon tax. five women filed a lawsuit against the department of taxation and finance. >> how could it be the guy in line in front of us is buying chapstick and rogaine and not paying taxes and we are?
