Good evening trying to be brief so allow me this evening under the legislation and policy update as you may know know the addition or amendment to chapter is an chifd that protection of night life was moving through the pace to add hotel and molts as used well be reviewing residential and so yesterday worthwhile that at the submit the Land Use Committee approved with i think a anywhere amendment the legislation onto the full board that amendment i watched it today on review was simply to exclude hotels that already have entitlements so that was so obvious but needed to state that on the 0 record i think the 14 will be First Reading and a week later a done deal from the board and the mayor will sign that in midmarch early april i should get indication information 17 or 18 hotels i know are in the pipeline i already have their addresses we did that research so we should be able to host them through the process maybe well have to change the name the Residential Development committee didnt include molts and hotel. So, yeah i dont know if ben knows when theyre putting on agenda rules but obviously the sooner than later as far as were concerned want to have a compliment of commissioners i wanted to update also the commission on a couple of things that started more recently one of them i think i might have discussed the creation of lgbtq workshop that is doing Historic Preservation or Cultural Heritage preservation citywide by supervisor wiener or then supervisor wiener and so ear had one initial meeting planning is really going to take the lead it is appropriate but you know were main involved i think that is a role to play for night life in lgbtq historic or currently preservation so that next meeting is open to anybody who is interested in helping this process going to be a long process because this kind of effort in figuring out what youre currently assets are so youre not as inclusive as possible and moving through the process and commissioner perez is shaking his head he the this in the filipino so this work it takes time and the next meeting fy in city hall there will be mailings and announcements if youre interested please come and take a look at it and see what were doing and then also quite recently the building inspection decided to take or really a few commissioners described to look at how the city regulatory agencies were working towards warehouse safety all of the ghost ship is important for everybody so they created theyre calling a warehouse Task Force Im not sure that is an accurate description but invited the commission to be part of that there are two ways dealing with residential issues we dont deal with here but the issues p of taking a warehouse and making that safe for people to assembly is where we are most important so we met once i think that is workout itself and little intention to make it to april at the moment and hopefully come out with policy guidelines or new legislation that is not clear all the agencies with you i can imagine were there at the table and spearheaded by the Building Department well see where this goes ive not sat on third degree that the Building Department before so theres that and lastly i wanted to update you on corrective actions since weve met weve not been here together in sometime because we had holidays and Christmas Parties and cancelations so a few incidents we were obviously wanted to get ahead of it put it on the agenda one on in Office Meeting with the sill last year on branding street a city owned piece of property run by a nonprofit and they have had Management Changes and dependent on foil with us or are very old really there was an incident outside of the viewpoint was very serious and it occurred after a youth fended so when we have obviously violence outside of anything we permit we take that seriously we had a meeting with the management and the Arts Commission that a oust of oversight body were on target to basically move the new administration there, there a process as their politically through a permit theyll not come in front of you not required the permit is valid but needed to start from miami it maggie and i are working have not process and we had the southern station captain and the permit officer to do what we could to make that clear that is Serious Business and we wanted the Community Spaces for healthy and safe so that happened and there was also some violence remind me at christmastime and oddly the night after or the other way around at the holy cow again in the southern to it was handy to have the permit officer in the room but i think you in each case they are different scenarios the grand was i think over promotion promotion sorry i didnt i have this was so a long time but it is important we did the same kind of review with both of these maybe a promoterer at the grand and holy cow was down around the corner but again none will be a suspension because not what were after were after compliance weve gotten i think got a new security plan from holy cow and signage outside i know the grand get rid of the promoter for good forever and we have not had a problem since theres that so nonetheless you have my question ill hand it over go ahead commissioner lee. Good evening ill try to keep that short more substantive issues a few inspections i did a few but the last couple of months issues where the police and the venue on sidewalks and patrons and crowds personally i dont think that is an issue but nevertheless, the venue has been working with the Community Benefit district and the Police Department to resolve that the broadway benefit district they step forward and instead of having Security Guards but 10 b you see at the end of the night theyll move the ubers did you observe the street and keeps issues from reconcurring theyre working together i think this will eliminate most of problems around the sidewalks being overcrowded or whatever there was an issue in december they had a lebron james on a flier so they over promoted it was crazy no issues as far as fighting or things like that but you, you know 3w450 people and the Police Department took extension we worked together next door at the monroe a minor security change a guy not doing his job to note they switched one the person but no issues there going back to new years stopped by a few parties the westerfield party a lot of preordainments that used is to hang out with sebastian and midnight that party was fine more compliance underground it came up before with the there was several karaoke problems during the fall or whatever and this was a venue that was unpermitted that of ref a lot of complaints and i went by there several times and wrote them a certification the pd went but on new years and closed them they end up coming into the office he talked with them we arrived at they have a couple of steps before a planning permit so i let them know if they keep on operating theyll keep on greeting me and the Police Department and maybe not inclined to grant their conditional use their in process and stopped the operation and confirmed with the Police Department i check theyre not operating and havent been so this seems fine back in december i did a sound teste rip tide and had a fire i guess they applied for a permit mayor four or five months ago but the sound test they passed 97 bci couldnt hear 2 outside some other complaint but sharon and i switched those areas he passed that open ill be happy to answer any questions you may have. Good evening shawn burke here a couple of quick notes a hefty list but highlight the more important ones i conducted a sound teste armory this was just before new years eve working with one of the neighbors and work with the operators and armory we conducted a test in the parking lot so the parking lot behind the armory we thought the weakest point that have that structure we confirmed that they did day the armory was within 8 decimal above the age bitten in the code and increased the sound rating on the condition the permit by one decimal i followed up again new years eve during the event multiple times and conducted tests inside and outside they were in compliance i wanted to update you on that a couple of new complaints got interesting things going on the de bois truck stop an outdoor music event unpermitted trying to track down the operator theyre not doing much i think that was a one of event i just founded with the mission permit officer about this establishment pizza joint on mists i was informed that the complaint may not be coming from this particular new business that operating out that have that location but associated with a gambling venue that popped up you may recall from a few months back i think 6 months ago so the alu and sfpd with working on that a new complaint on hawaii street im trying to get them into compliance with a llp a complaint from the church about the alamo not movies but music well pass that off to the Police Department one unpermitted after hours report about 960 folsom ill investigate this were adjourned and a complaint about entertainment at Health Care Operations on castro stopped by there last week they have entertainment i talked with them about our permitting process i told you what theyre allowed to do ill keep you posted on the enforcement on the 11 street corridor im out there in touch with operators trying to make sure that all the many nightclubs are operating within their limits and just proving to be quiet an endeavor but things are moving forward once a third certification we actually brought them in and talked with the staff we felt like they needed to permitting provide some xremgsz and timelines for improvements and they were able to give that to us and residents so ill continue to keep you posted im out there ever weekend to make sure they understand my exceptions and what is going on. And then a one of permits we issued for one night all with well, there i think that wraps up. I have a question about 960 folsom i know youve not investigated that is that weve had over the years various places in soma had records or reports on after hours is that one that pops up. First application is an llp for drink this is located on san bruno after a brewery and at that point room they plan to use the loophole will that for acoustic bands and karaoke and theyve done a lot of outreach in the area to neighbors, patrons and surrounding businesses and our Neighborhood Associations so youll see 70 signatures of support in our file as well as a couple of letters if neighboring businesses and a letter from the portfolio Neighborhood Association one letter of opposition in our file that is the final letter in the packet that of mailed to me from a neighbor who was elderly but basically in the letter say theyre okay with the permits of adrc treatment as long as it didnt disturb them the applicant can speak to that in particular.
