general council julia after 11 years of service with the mta before it was the mta is moving on to bigger and a better things within the city attorney's office and julia leads the team of attorneys that serve the mta. their - she's been doing that for quite a long time and gun bovldz the duties of the judging r general council and provides great service to the agency in terms of legal service but she did a lot more with policy and management advise most of it solicited and some number one solicited but she's helpful to me as i transitioned in she has a knowledge that expands beyond the knowledge she's thought of a thought of participate on our executive team she technically works for another team but i consider her to be part of the team. we're not also the eyes it client we have a lot of complex and difficult issues and a lot of interesting personalities but she's also been at least in my time here and her entire time really incredibly hardworking and dedicated and committed and it could be bad news. that file took up my whole office like a dragon. the mta you got divisions made fwharps easy not because they were right. this is the legacy that's taken many years to overcame and will take many years still but the trend is in the right direction from my prevention of watching closely the things to fix another muni is getting smaller from the pcos and this your brave and doing the right thing. thank you it's been a privilege to support you in that work. i know you'll keep up the good work (clapping.) director reiskin. >> just 3 quick items for the balance that have my report the first one has to do with the hundred and 50 company permits for company taxi permits that you authorized a year or so ago. you actually authorized one hundred to 50 permits 8 thousand series permits we distributed one hundred and 50 to 10 taxi companies we set a fee and this $2,000 amount was meant to make those more affordable than the medallions and it's less than that the medallion holder could get up to 22 to 25 hundred. the reason for offering certain companies a lower prices fees to recognize their investment in 9 industry that are better customer service in the way of dispatcher service we require they operate under a model to insure better accountability abate for furniture operation through the companies. since that time as you probably know the medallion payment the market mechanisms that directive the medallion payments have google gone down. many companies are reporting large revenues as a result of the shortage of drivers meaning no taxis in service to leaflet that circumstance we're reducing the lease fee for the 8 thousand series taxis down to one thousand dollars a month and still the one thousand dollars to go into the drivers fund this will be temporary until the dynamic in the industry approves we're working aggressively to get more drivers with the california investment department as well as the workforce development. we are looking streamlining the process to get more drivers in but we thought this additional measure was necessary in order to make sure that the taxi industry remains viable. so i wanted to up to date you on that. the trait effectiveness project you've been hearing and will be hearing a lot about it i wanted to make sure you knew were we have 11 i think we have 12 district meetings and two citywide meetings going now to the beginning of march so we can modify the proposals before we bring them to you in the mid of march for your review and at the end for your approval. we may drop proposals to modify all within the framework of the environmental review that's nearly complete. for those who are unable to attend the meeting we have ways for people to provide input they can contact us through the normal channels and wwwdot muni.com where people can learn the next meeting is in district 5 their meetings that are going through the second week of march and we'll bring back to you the initial proposals on march 15 i think we're going to focus on the m t e and hopefully to the final approvals at the end of march. finally, i wanted to report out on the charities campaign that's the annual employee giving event one off our outstanding muni operators
