Celebrated in a statement this morning saying we are elated by the wonderful in us that Jason Rezaian has been released from prison and safely left the country with his wife. We are relieved that this 545day nightmare for jason and his family is finally over. Two of the other freed americans, Saeed Abedini and amir hekmati are also on the plane. Abedinis wife tweeting praise god. Saeed finally made it out of iranian soil and now is on a plane headed to switzerland. Thank you for your prayers. U. S. Officials saying the fourth american part of the prisoner swap kasvavi rutsari did not fly out with the americans. Matthew trevitha a fifth released yesterday but not as part of the official prisoner swap left the country yesterday and here is his mother last night on that news. Were very excited. We were very happy to hear matts voice today. Were thrilled hes out of iran and just looking forward to seeing him. These releases coming only hours before the nuclear deal between the u. S. And iran was implemented. Take a listen. Today we can confidently say that each of the pathways that iran had toward enough fissile material toward a Nuclear Weapon has been verifiably closed down. The International Atomic watch dog agency confirming late yesterday iran dismantled key parts of its Nuclear Program and sanctions have been lifted. Nbcs ali arouzi is in tehran with the latest. Ali . Reporter richard action an important day for diplomatic relations in iran. The nuclear deal has been implemented. People have been waiting for this to are a long time. We knew it would be on this date and now its happened. Economic sanctions on the country have been lifted. President rouhani made a speech today to the nation saying that the country has been freed of economic sanctions, the chains have been broken, and its a new golden era for the country. So iran can now look forward to economic prosperity. What we didnt anticipate was the release of these four dual nationals. That came as a big surprise to everybody here. It was not something that we were expecting here in the country, but it came as very good news for many here. Now the details have been sketchy. Iran News Agencies this morning were reporting Jason Rezaian the Washington Post correspondent hadnt been released but the state department confirmed hes on his way home now. We dont know on what carriers they are or where theyll be landing but we know theyve left iran. Good day for diplomatic relations in iran, a warming of relations between the United States and iran, but we shouldnt get ahead of ourselves. Iran and america still are die metrically opposed in this region on many issues. This could be the beginning of a new chapter. Richard back to you. Ali, thank you so much, ali arouz in tehran for us. Is unclear where the prisoners are headed next or the iranians released as part of the deal. U. S. Government and iranian plane can be seen on the tarmac at geneva airport in switzerland. Is thought maybe those planes will receive the respective prisoners although we have no confirmation. Well be watching that. All righty, now for the latest on the reaction from can the administration in the United States, we go to nbcs ron allen at the white house. When you and i last spoke yesterday the question was, would the president speak and if he were to speak at what time . Reporter thats still the question this morning. We still dont know. Were getting guide as he may make a statement. We thought he was going to make a statement sometime after the americans were satisfiesly at their destination which we believe is geneva, based on comments secretary kerry made before he left the region coming back the United States. Geneva, perhaps to the United States or some other destination, germany, theres an American Military and hospital in landstuhl which might be a destination to get medical checks before they continue on to the United States. We dont know that to be the precise details of that. Also in that interview with secretary kerry, some interesting details about what happened at the end getting the former prisoners out. Apparently there was a misunderstanding about exactly who was on the flight manifest. Jason rezaians mother and wife flew out with him and there was some confusion whether they were on the list or not, and there was some mention in this interview as well about some restrictions on the flight crews timing, how much time they can fly or how much rest they needed essentially. Not a lot of detail but it seems to be those practical matters, those fairly significant matters that may have delayed the flight from late last night, when the release happened, to sometime earlier this morning. But again, trying to confirm all that, the information is based on an interview that was done with secretary kerry that was published in the Washington Post, which certainly would know whats going on because they were so close to Jason Rezaian. So there we are. Again, the bottom line here at the white house, unclear when, if the president will speak, but we, our guidance has been we expect to hear from them sometime later today. Nbcs ron allen watching that development with the president there at the white house no, doubt well be talking to you later today. Thank you so much, ron allen. After decades of international isolation, iran begins to reengage with the world today on this sunday, but it wasnt an easy path to get here. The u. N. Nuclear watch dog determining yesterday iran had complied with tough new restrictions on its Nuclear Program. They report that iran has one shipped 98 of its fuel to russia, two, dismantled more than 1,000 centrifuges and three, disabled its Nuclear Reactor as part of other requirements. Ambassador, thank you for joining us today. Thank you. The iaea for the world, they are the ones that go in, they determine whether its a yes or a no in terms of that list, and we just went through some of the requirements. Tell us about what the iaea was looking for and needed to check off on before secretary of state kerry as well as the United Nations iaea response came out. All right, there were provisions in the Nuclear Agreement about filling a hard water reactor at araq filled with cement, having shipped out quantities of enriched uranium to get them out to get iran down to a lel of stored enriched uranium at a low level, they had to check the level and quantity of that to make sure iran fulfilled the initial commitment contained in the agreement. Going forward the iaea has to have protocols in place for inspections to try to ensure that iran stays within the parameters of the agreement thats been set. It will be difficult to do. Theres access issues but those things had to be certified by the iaea first. When you look at the three paths that secretary of state kerry mentioned yesterday, plutonium, uranium and covert, do you feel comfortable with the statements being made that all three of those options that he had declared and was very detailed about have been met, and would there be concern in the future that they might reverse that without any of us understanding or seeing that . Right, well i think the most telling thing in secretary kerrys remarks was his comment that the breakout period for iran had been a couple of months and now its out to at least a year. That i think is the truth. Iran has maintained the ability to enrich uranium. It maintained centrifuges in operation. It has maintained some stored enriched uranium and it maintains the technical knowhow and knowledge and now will have a significant amount of money and access. So its ability to continue to develop a Nuclear Weapons program will continue without the concrete manifestations of that in achievements. It will stay frozen where it is, but it will develop the knowhow and the ability. So when you get to these issues of surreptitious development of a program or a breakout capability, i still think we run the risk that iran could do that. Thats why this implementation period Going Forward is so critical. We have the deal that we have. It allows iran all those thing. What iran does with that Going Forward is the big question and also how that affects irans behavior in the region with respect to syria, yemen or other things. Ostensibly according to the wording of the agreement, this is to allow them to have an indigenous Nuclear Program that they were wanting and that the west had wanted all the parties that were involved in this, is that what they end up with here . It is what they end up. They have the ability to enrich uranium themselves. They keep some centrifuges in operation, put others into storming. They have the scientists and they have the money and the access internationally now. So it does give them that opportunity and that was always the debate throughout this whole process between supporters and opponents of this agreement. The issue basically boils down to the nature of the Iranian Regime and whether they are to be trusted or not. Wed certainly have no observatiobjection and dont with india but iran, a delay supports terrorism, it supports hezbollah, it supports assad and it is now a growing factor in a growing conflict between sunnis and shia in the middle east. Do you want them to have that capability . Kurt voelker, thank you so much for your perspective and information on the deal. Thank you. My pleasure action thank you. The latest developments in iran which weve been just talking about will be one of the hotly contested issues in tonights nbc news democratic debate in South Carolina. There you have a former secretary of state and also have a candidate who has been accused of not having a cogent Foreign Policy platform. The debate you can watch live on nbc starting at 9 00 eastern, and there are brand new poll numbers as well, leading up to this debate. Nbc news and the wall street journal showing exactly where things are standing, heading into the debate. The good news for Hillary Clinton she has a 25point lead over Bernie Sanders nationally among democratic primary voters expanding her lead by six Percentage Points since last month. Since americans do not vote for president nationally casting ballots instead state by state, do the polling numbers there, weve seen out of iowa and New Hampshire showing the Democratic Candidates in a dead heat in the first two contests. Do those numbers paint a more accurate picture . Clinton spent much of the week attacking sanders primarily on the gun reform record as well as his Single Payer Health care proposal. Gun reform expected to be a major point as well. The debate venue located just one block from emmanuel ame church, where nine people were shot and killed in june. For more on the debate were joined by nbcs kristen welker, as a preview to that, and this is going to be very well watched, because both sides trying to sharpen their pencil and we ma i see more fireworks. I think we will. There will be a lot of eyeballs on tonights debate. That is for sure. I am here in the Media Filing Center where the reporters file stories. We interview the candidates and the anticipation is building. The democratic and republican races too close to call in the hawk i would state so tonights debate will be pivotal. With just hours before the democrats duke it out tonight in charleston the candidates courted voters at the a beginner here saturday night. We must stand up for working people and low income people in every state in this country. Reporter they took aim at republicans, secretary clinton excoriating some of the language used talking about president obama. Both ted cruz and Chris Christie called him a child the other night. Too often we hear republicans talking in coded racial language. Reporter sanders announced he supports a bill that would amend a 2005 piece of legislation which limits liability on gun manufacturers. The move is a reversal for sanders, and it comes after days of attacks by clinton who used the issue to paint sanders as soft on guns. Sanders tried to assure the crowd hes not. We have got to keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have them. Reporter clinton signaled she would go even further. We need a president who will do everything in her power to protect president obamas actions on gun violence. Reporter meanwhile the race on the republican side has donald trump and ted cruz running neck and neck in iowa. Trump continuing to slam cruz for failing to report loans while he was running for senate. On saturday, trumps jabs drew jeers. Excuse me, didnt report his bank loans . Say whatever you want, he didnt report bank loans. Reporter cruz seized the chance to needle his rival, after getting stuck for a few minutes in an elevator. All right so who put donald trump in charge of the elevators . Reporter meanwhile yesterday a top clinton surrogate called on Bernie Sanders to release his medical records. The Clinton Campaign quickly distanced it self from that request. A sand ez aid tells me they have raised more than 3 million since last tuesday and because of the stepped up attacks from the Clinton Campaign, all an indication that we are sure to see some fireworks here tonight. Richard . Youll be there to batch it. Kristen we will kaer in charleston, South Carolina, thank you. Coming up we head back to South Carolina to see how team clinton and team sanders are preparing for tonight. The candidates will face off 9 00 eastern. You can watch the debate moderated by lester holt and Andrea Mitchell on nbc. Seems like weve hit a road block. That reminds me. Anyone have occasional constipation, diarrhea. Gas, bloating . In my lifetime i never i had chance to vote for a person who by experience or accomplishment, knowledge and temperament was more well suited to meet the needs of america at a difficult but as the president said, basically hopeful time. Former president bill clinton last night in iowa campaigning alongside daughter chelsea, a little more than two weeks before the iowa caucuses. 15 days exactly, and less than 24 hours before tonights nbc news democratic debate, in charleston, South Carolina. Yes, high stakes there. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders taking a subtle shot at Hillary Clinton in the new ad playing in iowa and New Hampshire. There are two democratic visions for regulating wall street. One says its okay to take millions from big banks and tell them what too do. My plan, break up the big banks, close the tax loopholes and make their pay their fair share. Then we can expand health care to all and provide universal College Education. There they like me . No. Will they begin to play by the rules if im president . You Better Believe it. Joining us now is tad devine, Senior Adviser to Bernie Sanders campaign. Thanks for being here. The yes this morning might be the promise was made by the campaign there would not be such advertisements but we do see the advertisement. What is your reaction to that response to . My reaction is the promise is made we would not run negative ad and thats not negative. Our opponent is not in it, we never mentioned here. Bernie has big disagreements with Hillary Clinton on issues. Wall street is one of them. He believes the wall street wing of the Democratic Party needs to be rane e reined in. If we take on wall street which has a rigged economy in place sending most of the wealth to the top and being kept in place by a corrupt system of campaign finance. If. We take that on we have to take on wall street. Thats the big difference between the two candidates. I want to look at the numbers youve seen in the nbc news wall street journal poll that came out 20 minutes ago that shows that Hillary Clinton in terms of National Numbers when we look at democratic voters, 25 points, that is the spread here between your candidate and Hillary Clinton. What do you make of that . Well, what i make of it is National Polls are really a reflection of name recognize clags. Bernie sanders is in the mid30s in a poll when we havent with had one con test is tremendous progress. His message is resonating across the country in iowa and New Hampshire wheres hey the chance to campaign for so long and as in the past when voters start to pick choice there is, thats going to have a huge impact on the National Polling later. Tad youre obviously there in charlton, planning, gaming, practicing for tonight along with your candidate, Bernie Sanders and its ben said watchers on the outside those included on the table shortly is that the elbows will be sharp rned. What will be the approach by your candidate tonight . Bernies approach is to deliver his message to the American People. We believe he has the strongest message. Hes talked about the fact americas economy is rigged right now, weve got to do something about it to deal with the issue of income and wealth inequality. He talked about the fact that america alone does not promise, does not have health care for all of its citizens. Its time we do. Hes got big ideas like having universal College Education so every child in america can go to Public College or University Tuition free. Those are the things he wants to talk about. If the American People get a chance to hear his message we think theyll vote for him. Tad thanks for getting up early. I appreciate it, Senior Adviser to bernie sappeders. Good to be with you. We planned on having someone speaking for the Clinton Campaign as well and well try do that later in the program if we can. I bring in Chicago Sun Times lynn sweet and joe watkins and distinguished senior fellow bob herbert. Great to have you here. You heard tad saying those are National Polls. We look at politics average and theyre looking at iowa within the margin of error really close, neck and neck here. How much will this get at each other tonight . Remember ted cruz and donald trump they sharpened their elbows. How sharp will the elbows get tonight . Both are excellent debaters. Elbows will be sharp tonight. I dont know whether or not it will move the chains. I dont know how many more voters are actually out there for them to get in iowa and New Hampshire. I think a lot of people already set and really ground game will matter when we get to iowa and New Hampshire. They both have really strong ground games as well. Theyre great debaters. This will be a good show. Do you see here, lynn, because of the news within the last 24 hours iran, and we have former secretary of state who spent six years more or less at that role. We have a new secretary of state who has had a lot of accomplishments within a short amount of time, some might say. Might that be what Bernie Sanders is you may have done well here but not as well as this current secretary of state. Will he turn that on her . My guess is probably not. International affairs is not his strongest point. Andrea mitchell knows everything and i wouldnt start opening that vein unless i really knew what i wanted to do with. President obamas pop player democratic primary voters so why diss him in the debate if youre setting up one against the other. One other quick point you mentioned sharp elbows. I think that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders dont need to do that. Its a twoperson race, not like in the republican field where you just need a small plurality to win. If you want to knock down the other guy, even if it doesnt mean youre adding points to your score, here its a little different, and i think you are not going to look they do agree far more than they disagree. Secretary clinton has said that and i think the strategy not kick them theyll stay in their own corners for the most part. When we might say i dont know if well use the word brawl, raucous, freeforall, we have the adjectives ready but i dont know, you might be a little more careful because it is quite different voter die namm pick. Very well said. Health care has been debated over the last week between the two candidates, gun rights or will it be Martin Omalley coming forward . What are some of the headlines youll be looking for . To go to the issue of whether it will be a brawl or not, the Clinton Campaign is worried how well bernie has been doing. History has shown when the clintons get worried they tend to become aggressive. I might not anticipate a brawl, but i would expect hillary to be agreative. Martin omalley . Who knows what Martin Omalley will do . He needs to make a splash but hasnt been able to do that yet. There may be missing the point. I dont think gun rights will be the determining factor in the democratic primary, and maybe not even the banking situation. I think the issue really is jobs, the economy the cost of Higher Education and this depose to bernies strength. Well be talking to you throughout the hour. Thank you. Programming reminder, catch tonights debate starting at 9 00 eastern time. We theyve been in the air two and a half three hours currently airborne aboard a swiss plane that left tehran earlier. The first stage of their journey home after being held in irans evan prison, a place that other americans know all too well. 2009 three u. S. Hikers shane bauer, Joshua Fattal and sarah shuoard were walking and may have crossed over accidentally into iran. Sarah was released after 14 months. It will be another year before shane bauer and josh ta fattal were freed as well to be returned by her side. Their experiences are detailed in the book a sliver of light. Sarah joins us now from San Francisco to help give us insight into Jason Rezaian and the other freed americans have gone through. Thank you for joining us today. Thank you. Great to be here. Give us insight to what the four americans went through based on what your experience was. Well, i mean, the overwhelming feeling that i connect to right now is just the unbelievably you know, profound exhilaration theyre experiencing now to be leaving evin prison, to be reunited with their families is no words to describe how incredible it is. Yesterday i woke one tears of joy because these men, saeed, jason, amir, i feel like i know them. Itch been worried about them now for years. They have all endured long periods of solitary confinement. I was in solitary confinement for over a year and it takes a heavy toll psychologically, physically, you know, this is a huge step for them. They still have a long way to go to recover and really pick up their lives again. What would be your peace of advice for that long way to go, that walk you were talking about, that journey . I mean its different for everyone. All of them are good people, they didnt deserve this and theyre part of something, you know, unfortunately theyre a victim of very misguided policy, you know, decades of animosity on both sides and this moment really the iranian government and American Government have been forced to act accountably to use diplomacy and its an incredibly hopeful, beautiful moment, and i feel like thats going to help them to ride that wave and see that we are actually going in a much better direction, but at the same time, once all that exhilaration fades it hits you very hard that being alone that long, having no certainty whatsoever, not knowing if youll ever see your family again, if youre ever going to be on free soil, its something that people can carry around with them for the rest of their lives so you have to take that seriously your recovery and do whatever it is you need to do to heal. Everyone is different. What would you say based on your experience will be the most difficult for them in their recovery in the coming months . Everyone theres so much demand for your attention, your time, from family to friends, and its wonderful to be with family and friends, but i think its just especially important to stay in touch with what you need, and sometimes you need to be alone. Sometimes you need to get away and you know, just like i said, its different for everyone but close the door and just think and its really important to have people to talk to that understand what youve been there through so you dont feel alienated. Solitary confinement is a psychological torture, the u. N. Called it torture and it takes a toll on your brain. Science has shown it can cause permanent brain damage. You look fine on the outside. Shane, josh and i were always fed decently. Toward the end they gave us extra food because they wanted to make sure we came out looking and they gave me nice clothes and all these things that i didnt have when i was in prison. They want to you look okay because they want to, you know, the iranian government wants to, people to think they treated these prisoners humanely, but theres nothing humane about the treatment these men have endured. And theres nothing just about it. None of them deserved this, and the deep wounds are the ones that are hardest to heal, theyre invisible and you know, theres no easy remedy. Sarah shourd, thank you so much for sharing your insight and of course, this takes you back, so i know its not necessarily easy to talk about your experience, but it is so helpful for us to understand how we, as members of this country, can help those who are now being returned, those four americans and the prisoner swap as well as the fifth separate of that. Sarah shourd thank you so much. Thank you. Still ahead, the response to the iran prisoner swap is drawing some mixed political reactions. While the candidates are hailing the release of the americans, theyre also aiming plenty of fire toward president obama and the administration. S. , as the republican candidates stop blasting each other for just a moment in order to criticize the administrations diplomatic efforts related to iran. Were releasing seven people who were incarcerated for violating the sanctions on iran and helping iran develop Nuclear Weapons. This administration doesnt seem to recognize that dealing with a country like eye rain, you have to deal from strength rather than weakness and these concessions only create a whole new set of concessions. Today we get the news that four americans, hostages not prisoners, hostages are being released. Were great i feel for their family answer thankful thats happening. They never should have been in prison to begin with. Journalist, a pastor, they were hostages. And weve got a weak president that has basically put a price tag on the head of any american abroad. Our panel still with us this moment. Lynn, when you look at the dual messages, because we had dual storylines yesterday, we are very appreciative that these prisoners are coming home, we are absolutely against this iran deal, despite the iaea saying everythings okay. Which is going to be the message thats going to resonate with the voters that theyre trying to sway their way . Well the republicans were always against the iran nuclear agreeme agreement. Right. It wont matter what theyre saying is rallying their base. I dont know if youre trying to decide between rubio and cruz, if anything they said makes a difference. Umhum. Its a general election argument, whether or not the iran deal say good one. We know that Hillary Clinton is more of a hawk on additional sanctions if she could. So therefore i dont think the ball is pushed down the field much and criticizing the deal because they would be against this no matter what. One other thing, one of the republicans said when the negotiations were going on over the iran deal that we made the deal, and we didnt get the hostages out. Now, even secretary kerry yesterday said that while the two tracks negotiations were not directly related, theres no question the pace and progress the talks accelerated in light of the relationships. Now thats diplomatic speak for i think saying they kind of were somehow, in the delicate dance. So bottom line is theyre trying to figure out messages to figure out a way to get them a few more votes. Right, with the ways. Where theyre essentially all agreeing. This is the criticism made, international security, thats what theyre talking about. Right. The race is still too fluid in iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, if youre a republican or democrat. You have to seize on any opportunity to get your message out there to try to win over more voters. This is a win for the president of course, but if youre a republican, you want to take this opportunity of course to point out whats wrong with the deal, and thats what theyre doing and whoever talks the loudest has a shot to maybe get a few more voters on their side. Bob, interesting about the sac state of the Union Tuesday moved up before this and they must know this could have happened number one. Number two it wasnt brought up during the state of the union. Obama is the issue longterm for the republicans, and he must be driving them crazy. Hes, always seems to be pulling one rabbit after another out of the hat, so the republican candidates, all of them, have such demonstrated contempt for owe what, and yet he still keeps outmaneuvering them and thats been going on since 2008. If you are one of the republican candidates, are you now just, is this a preview of your strategy because you know the democrat might come forward and say look at how well this previous president has done when it comes to this issue . You have a short lifespan. Remember your lifespan as a candidate doesnt last past South Carolina if you dont do well in iowa and New Hampshire so youve got to necessarily talk and talk loudly about how you feel about these issues. Right now, cruz and trump sucked up all the oxygen on the republican side in iowa and New Hampshire, and if youre a candidate other than cruz or trump, youve got to work hard to get yourself in there, so that people are listening to what you have to say. The republicans essentially dont disagree on this issue. The republican candidates, i mean its hard for them to get traction. Lock step. Against one another. Its tough early because they do agree with each other on the topic. Which is the point im making. Thats why, when you have and i dont know if the iran sanctions is going to be the defining entity, you still have with cruz, who still has his Canadian Citizenship issue that trump is talking about. You still have new york values. Were sitting here in new york, everything seems fine, right . Chicago values, doughnut values. And that brought, you know, again very well played by trump in the republican debate. The thing to watch in the republicans as we get closer to the time is what could they figure out to say besides what theyve been saying that could get them a few more points in the plurality race . Thats a challenge. Okay, thank you all three, lynn sweet, appreciate you, joe watkins, bob herbert thanks for coming in. Busy news weekend. Next, inside the new relationship with iran, both sides cautiously optimistic after this weekends historic events. Well speak with former state Department Spokesman p. J. Youre not indestructible anymore. Were rerning more this hour about the detail what it means now that sanctions have been lifted against iran. Roughly 100 billion of irans assets were released as of yesterday. Iran will have access to the Global Financial system. They already announce aid deal to buy 114 airbus planes but trust say major issue Going Forward as the world looks to see what else iran will do with its newfound economic free tom. P. J. Crowley former state Department Spokesman. Thank you for being here, p. J. What held up this deal as some are reporting, is that iran, excuse me, iran was waiting for the money to be transferred . There were some financial mechanisms that needed to come in place before the four americans and the prison deal were allowed to be released, and thats why were seeing at least somewhat of a delay getting them back to the United States. Tell us about how important this money that im just talking about right now, the 100 billion more or less is to iran. Well i think its going to be important to iran, their economy is under stress and as a political issue for iran, you know, getting the economy back on track is fundamental to the rouhani camp, the existing government, and those who are prepared to engage the world and to some extent further integrate in the world. Irans got a couple of important elections coming up in the coming weeks, just as we do for a new parliament and sew callso assembly of experts. Theyre in position to vote for a future ayatollah. Well see from that election whether theres been a sufficient delivery of promise programs under the existing government, just as you would have here in the United States. And if the engagers get a mandate from the iranian people that may signal that iran will continue to move in a reasonably constructive direction. P. J. , some are asking whether the election in iran will be a wat watershed election, an indication in terms of a youthful vote and a youthful message taking over the arc in terms of the leadership there and the country, and a result of that question, how will future monies be used by the government, the ayatollah as well as the president. Your concern about these monies being used towards terrorist efforts or expansionist activities related to iran . I think just like iran in many respects is very much like the United States. There is real politics that goes on in iran, so theyre going to need to do some things at home. I dont know that president rouhani is necessarily used the same language as president obama, they have nation building at home to do as well. Now, can they use this money to influence the direction of the conflict in syria . Yes. By the same token theyre prepared to do that anyway, but it is their money but i think that you getmoney. I think that you get something meaningfully out of this deal, which is avoiding a military confrontation, and seeing if you can further integrate, you know, iran into the community of nations. At the same time, we do have sanctions in place on those malign activities that are closely associated with iran. Terrorism, support for the likes of bashar al assad. And i think we can still do both. We can see if theyre prepared to integrate, and at the same time try to thwart their malign goals in the middle east.
