on us already. >> donald trump spent the day trying to convince religious leaders he is religious enough to be president. one of of the people in that meeting the join us. and hillary clinton's short list for vp, is down to only three names, and today, elizabeth warren, one of the names on that list, helped hillary go against trump. >> trump would throw us back into recession. >> i don't want to be a phony like hillary clinton. >> ted cruz has five times as much cash on hand as donald trump. >> he has written a lot of books about business. >> i understand money better than anybody. >> they all seem to end at chapter 11. >> hillary clinton will spent a billion dollars of wall street money. >> we can't let him bankrupt america like one of his failed casinos. >> it was a source inside the trump campaign that told nbc news, no one knows what is happening. >> donald trump questioning hillary clinton's faith. >> she has been in the public eye for years. >> she talked about her faith in the past. >> there is nothing out there. nothing out there. >> a new poll came out, says 25% of voters remain undecided. undecided to move to canada or mexico. >> this is the last word on campaign 2016. >> college drop out rush lumbaugh understands as much as economics, as french or anything else he didn't study in school. in other words, rush limbah understands nothing like most americans. when rush limb baugh is talking all tax cuts are good in his world. that is politics. rush is not alone in his ignorance, most people in this country know nothing about economics, according to polls, most voters seem to think they know plenty enough about economics to decide which presidential candidates have the best ideas for our economy, most voters are as wrong about that as they would be about any question about organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry, we all admit we know nothing about it, except pre-med students. it has lead to donald trump's most favorable polling numbers, all of which show him behind hillary clinton, as a presidential candidate. he is ahead of hillary clinton when it comes to the economy. voters are expert, 51% say dan old trump would better handle the economy, and so today, while donald trump was trying to convince republican christians how religion he is, hillary clinton pressed her case about the economy. >> one of john mccain's former economic advisors calculated what would happen to our country if trump gets his way. he described the results of a trump recession. we would lose 3.5 million jobs, incomes would stagnant. debt would explode, and stock prices would plummet. you know who would be hit the hardest? the people who had the hardest time getting back on their feet after the 2008 crisis. >> hillary clinton was referring to a report from moody's and found quote the economy will be significantly weaker if mr. trump's proposals are adopted. a lengthy recession, and smaller at the end of his four-year term than what he took office. hillary clinton took on the trump business record today. >> donald trump said he is qualified to be president because of his business record. over the years, he intentionally ran up huge amounts of debt on his companies and defaulted. he bankrupted his companies not once, not twice, but four times. hundreds of people lost their jobs. he makes over the top promises, if and trust him he will deliver for them. he will make them wildly successful. then, everything falls apart, and people get hurt. those promises, you are hearing from him at his campaign rallies, they are the same promises he made to his customers at trump university. we can't let him bankrupt america like we are one of his failed casinos. we can't let him roll the dice with our children's futures. elizabeth warren said this today about donald trump. >> donald trump is a fraud, a cheapskate and a bully. you 35i your taxes, donald trump doesn't. if donald trump doesn't believe in paying his fair share of government, we shouldn't put him in charge of the government. >> here is how donald trump responded to hillary clinton today. >> how are you going to respond to clinton. were average americans affected by the bankruptcies? >> i have used, brilliantly, the laws of the country. not personally, just corporate. if you look at people like myself at the highest levels of business. many have done it many times. >> average americans pay the price for that i am running a business for my business, my family. somebody has to understand debt. she doesn't understand debt. >> cody king, writer and proposed to the way he manipulated debt in his companies. >> what does he understand. >> either way. take it either way. >> you know, donald has under oath been asked, basiced questions about corporate finance, and the answers he gives are as the woman who cut my hair said, when i showed her one of them, gibberish. donald does not understand anything, except any device that will bring money into his pocket. borrowing money i knew i wouldn't have to pay it back. that isn't the way honest people borrow row. they borrow money to grow their business and pay their debt back. like harry truman after his business failed after the depression. >> given that country is basically illiterate on matters of economics, does it sound better for her to go through the donald trump business door, here is how his businesses went brrpt or try to keep it on fiscal policy? >> she is off to a good start, accusing him of filing for bankruptcy. she needs better argumentos this to attack donald trump with report to his business record. so far -- >> what is the better argument? >> the better argument, just because he is wealthy, does not mean he is qualified t be president of the united states. this is the essence of donald's trump appeal. he is so fabulously wealthy, people fall into the argument, because he is wealthy, he will do great for the country. hillary needs to debunk this idea, just because he is wealthy, he will be a good president. that is not the case. so far, she is not doing a great job at this. she needs to do better and up her game. she is taeccing donald trump for his bankruptcies. this is true. several company that is filed for bankruptcy. that is a problem. the argument doesn't hold water. we see, overall, trump, himself is not brrpt. trump is successful. he is flying archdiocese the downtownry in a jet, we all see it. flaunting his wealth in front of everybody. giving interviews from his penthouse apartment on fifth avenue. we all see it with our own eyes, he is super wealthy. hillary needs to address this head on. >> take a listen to what hillary clinton said the jobs he has shipped over seas with his own products? >> trump's own products are made in a lot of countries that aren't named america. trump ties are made in china. trump suits, in mexico, trump furniture, in turkey, trump picture frames, in india. trump barware in slovenia, i could go on and on. you get the idea. i would love for him to explain how all that fits with his talk about america first. >> that seems to be something that is accessible to voters. where donald trump is talking about issues of jobs going overseas. >> if i were hillary. he is one of the people moving your jobs off shore. why doesn't he just charge a dollar more for ties and have them made by textile workers here in america? donald jump signs his name. how many go around saying, i need to sell ties with my name on them, in order to get monez? >> donald trump's defense today on this is that the hats are made in theus a. >> listen to this. >> the trump ties are made in china, the trump suits in mexico, bar ware in sloslenia. >> you know why? they devalue their currencies, and make it impossible for currency to compete. unfortunately, my ties are made in china, and i will say this, the hats, make america great again, i searched long and hard to find somebody that made the hats in this country. >> she getting the hats made in this country. >> this is again, hillary is off to a good starting it start, showing how donald trump is manufacturing overseas, she needs to do better. trump is going to come back with the argument and say, that is he is a superior business man, he understands the veermt, that is why he is manufacturing overseas, if you elect him president, he will change the laws and make it better for america. hillary needs to overcome this argument. she needs to do better. >> hillary clinton has a lead in the poles, that is a tie within the 3.5% margin of error. the numbers could be above 50, the margin of error goes both ways. on the question, who is better prepared to be president. may be the most important, hillary, way ahead in florida. that is the sprnl question that voters will be considering when they cast their vote for the presidency. that is an astronomical lead for hillary clinton. who is better prepared to be president. >> we don't know if they will debate or not. if trump is asked questions where he would have to demstrat his genius knowledge of business, the answers he would give would be devastating to his public image. he said he knows more about taxes than anybody else. even the conservative tax foundation, says his tax play, sketchy, would lead to 12 trillion in federal debt. >> if david k johnson and cody cain, thank you for joining us. >> coming up, donald trump, tried to win over some christian conservatives today. why why he tried was to question whether or not hillary clinton has religious bleefrs at all. and another reason to be worried, the bankruptcy of of the campaign treasurely. >> the vp stakes for hillary clinton. when was the last time a democratic nominee did at any time pick a united states senator as a running mate? you are nervous. he said, you tell them you met mr. trump. i can't even relate to that level of confidence. >> any shink will tell you, that is not confidence, that is insecurity. the religious leader who said that the meeting of donald trump meeting with them today should be a day of mourning for the religious rite. in a country with a strict separation of church and state, it should be surprising how often presidential campaigns emphasize religion. >> you keep your judiasm in the background, is that intentional? >> politicians became more noticeab noticeably religious, when the moral majority gave birth to what is known as the religious rite. they would need stronger professions of religious faith to get votes. faith, of course, can never be proved. so, the religious rite created a religious political gain anyone could play, includings an atheist. all you have to do is say what the candidates say about god and religion, there is no way of testing it. it is not like asking how much you paid in taxes, your answers are proven, on tax returns that they all make public. except donald trump. with donald trump, the truth is harder to find, his public professions of religion are the most hollow we have ever heard. every other candidate we heard from is truly religious, or knows how to sound religious. today, donald trump met with the religious rite, he told them lies, and they applauded. he talked about freeing up your thoughts, you talk about religious freedom, you don't have any religious freedom. if you think about it. donald trump told religious leaders in the country with more religious freedom than any in the world, quote, you don't have any religious freedom. he tried to suggest that hillary clinton doesn't have any religion. >> hillary in terms of religion. he has been in the public eye for years and years, yet, there is nothing out there. there is like nothing out there. >> michael ferris attended the first meeting of the moral majority in february, 1980. he has been active in the christian rite ever since. he has not been invited to today's meeting, he is not supportive of donald trump. he marks, today marks the end of the christian rite. his god is his appetites. michael ferris wrote today, attending the meeting meant choosing politics over religion. they are saying we are republicans no matter what candidate believes, no matter how vile his candidate. they are not of this is a day of mourning. mike angel ferris joins us by telephone and and mr. scott attended two meetings with donald trump, he is the coe of the national diversity coalition for trump. pastor scott, what is your reaction to michael ferris mourning over the meeting you had today. >> i think his action is an overreaction. it it was an question and answer session with a presidential candidate. the incident in orlando was a day of mourning, 9/11 was a day of mourning, this was an exchange of idea. i think he is overreacting. >> do you share donald trump's doubt that hillary clinton is a religious person. >> he didn't question her religion. >> we heard the words. tell me what you thought he meant. >> he doesn't know what her religion s. >> she said it publicly. we have it in the control room. >> i am a person of faith. i am a christian. i am a methodist. i have been raised methodist. i feel grateful for the instructionses and support i received starting in my fam lee but through my church. >> michael ferris, apparently for people like pastor scott here, there is nothing that hillary clinton will say about religion they will ever hear. >> that is probably true, to some degree. you have to take people at face value. what i am concerned with is two things, do they have in their political world, the same kind of political views that deriv from a bibical world view? do they have moral character. don trump, my focus, does not understand the issues that motivated christians like me to get involved in politics. he simply doesn't have character. regardless of what he professes about his personal faith. like you said, that is fairly easy to fake one way or the other. what i really want to know, does he have the character to go with it?
