I think you have Rudy Giuliani who said hes worried that the tombstone will say he lied for donald trump out representing the president across the globe pushing for essentially corrupt information to try to use on a political opponent back home so i think any moment that the media spends not focusing on that is a moment where donald trump is believing that he can get away with anything. I think building on obamacare with the public option is the fastest, most efficient, most Cost Effective way to get help to people that need it. Medicare for all requires a tax increase on the middle class. Thats something that senator sanders is up front about. It is a question that senator warren has also he said it would be a negative net positive because they wouldnt be paying as much for health care and the tax lower than the cost of health care. But thats not true for all families. We are talking about the tax increase on middle class family, making 60,000 a year. Theyre going to see a 6,000 tax increase under senator sanders plan and thats real money. Money thats the difference between being able to are you arguing that it wont be offset with negating the cost of health care . I think theres a fouryear runway do get to medicare for all an people that need real relief in their lives now i think that runway is too long and that cost increase is too much. Theyll see that money out of the paycheck, its added to the tax bill. And i think the runway to get to medicare for all is not the fastest way to get relief to people who need it now. Ethically speaking, what do you see . I dont think theres any way to overstate how serious or how alarming this is. Our elections are what make us a republic and this is essentially a president soliciting an attack on our elections by asking a Foreign Government to go after his leading political rival. If this isnt the thing that gets some of his allies to step back and stop protecting him and instead put the Country First i think we can stop waiting for something to do that. If they do not, what precedent is that setting, walter . I think we have to look at this in the larger context. Theres people talking about possible criminal violations and analyzing the statutes and i think thats a mistake in the larger context. This is a constitutional crisis where the president of the United States has solicited an attack on our institution of elections that actually makes us a republic. I think if that is now allowed and particularly in this context where ukraine was dependent on american aid to be able to defend itself against russia puts the National Security and ukraines National Security at stake. If thats allowed anything goes. The president can use the Public Office for absolutely any personal benefit, any political benefit. No one will be able to call that wrong again because why in your opinion dont republicans see that . Why do they believe that the president okay for the president to engage in this behavior . You know, thats been the most surprising thing to me. When i left government i was convinced there are a number of republican senators who were going to say this is the line. You cannot cross and hold that whatever that line is and we have seen no hint of a line.
