For 2017, and also a predictor of the future. The verdict rests on the people of alabama, if you dont believe in my character, dont vote for me. He is a good christian man, and all this bull crap that is going on is nothing but bull crap. Fake news will tell you that we dont care for jews. One of other attornof our attor there is a special place in hell. For republicans who should know better. Well, i havent really decided what im going to do. Im just disgusted with the whole situation. It is time that we put our decency, our state before
Political Party
. At some point, we got to stop looking like idiots to the nation. I dont think roy moore is a good representative to the christian faith, or the
Republican Party
. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you. Alabama is not going to let that shame happen again. Meanwhile, the president is picking a fight with another woman in the senate, this time kristin gillibrand, who is saying that the president should resign, he said that she came begging for donations and would do quote, anything for cash. It is a sexist smear. Elizabeth warren called it slut shaming. Well get more on the
Daily Briefing
but before she walks to the podium we have our own team to follow the race. Nbcs

here with me, and an
Investigative Reporter
for al. Com, and john archibald, columnist for the birmingham news. Halle, lets start with you. The president wants the voters of alabama to go out and vote for him. Getting into it with kirsten gillibrand. I hate to ask, but is there a strategy here . We know there is a strategy unfolding the last eight to ten hours here, senator gillibrand calling on
President Trump
to resign, after the allegations coming up before and after he was elected, coming up again. That is what happened. She was not the only one who called on the president to do this. You had three or four other male senators calling on donald trump to step down, youre looking at this graphic, i would look at senator hirono only came out this afternoon to call out the president. The president took aim tweeting essentially that she was a lightweight, a flunky of
Chuck Schumer
s. And what seemed to be a seemingly potential suggested implication or insinuation said she came to his office begging for contributions and would do anything for them. That brings us to what we dont know. You know that senator gillibrand thinks that that is a sexist smear. She was asked if she believed it was harassment by tweet, and that is what she responded. What we dont know is what the president meant by the notation. Were going to get a statement, to my reporting. There is something coming, well know more about it. It will probably be at the briefing pushed to 3 00 eastern time. The president has some questions about what was meant about that. And how many times have we heard the tweets speak for themselves. But there are a lot of people who want to know what it meant. There is always or often circumstances where we try to figure out exactly what the president is intending to say on twitter, and very infrequently do we get answers to sara sanders. How has turnout been on the ground there . What are you hearing . Reporter no, there are 67 counties here in alabama, katy. 56, there is only one race on the ballot. So democrats and arraign republ have to actively decide to get up and come to the polls today, there has been a consistent steady stream, more than steady compared to past elections. We saw it in the early ballots, just those requests alone, in some counties, sixfold. And those polled said theyre close to almost president ialtype levels. I just got word in the precinct out in huntsville, a key district where he needs people to go and vote for him. Were seeing three times the number of people who came out in the runoffs just two months as, doug jones needs the crossover voters. This is what two republicans told us here this morning. Moore is not in washington, he cant do what we need him to do. Im not concerned with doug jones, i dont believe in his beliefs. And i just im praying he wont get in. I just think some people are more concerned with tiny small issues. To me, if you will vote for a sexual predator over a democrat, thats not right. Tierry neil, a republican woman there, the question is how many terry neils are there . And in areas like here in montgomery, in huntsville, were hearing about high voter turnout throughout the black belt in the democratic heavy areas but also are hearing it in the very places where the crossover votes are needed. But the other places with the high turnout, the rural counties, kind of the southern alabama areas where roy moore is banking on high turnout where he calls this his base, the campaign believes as they said last night baked in support, even if the republicans were to stay home and not vote in other areas like birmingham and montgomery they believe the rural areas are enough, the base is enough to give them the election here tonight. You know, vaughn, i was talking to somebody from team bannon, they anticipate that roy moore could win by double digits. That is their outlook at least by this early hour. Roy moore has not given a lot of interviews and disappeared until this election today, except for yesterday when he gave that interesting rally. But he did sit down with one reporter and it was a 12yearold girl. Take a look. What issues are you looking at for the voters of alabama . I think one is liberty, we have to look at that. Anna, why is he sitting down with a 12yearold girl . I think theyre looking for to distance himself a little bit from all of these accusations that have been coming forward. I dont know what that does for people who are sitting on the fen fence. I think most people voting for roy moore will need that before he sits down with this little girl to talk. I dont know if it moves that needle that much, but seems like they are trying to show a softer side. I dont know how trying to distance yourself from those allegations in doing that why would you sit down with a 12yearold girl . That doesnt really make sense to me, what do you think, john . Well, i agree with you, none of it made sense if you ask me. Youre talking about a guy who is running for office on the carrying the flag of religious freedom while at the same time saying if you dont believe like he does, you are not a christian. Or you dont deserve to have your religion protected. So i mean, its the irony all the way around and sitting down with a 12 yearyearold girl is more of it. You know, its been 33 days since that
Washington Post
allegation against roy moore. Since then, weve seen the
Republican Party
distancing themselves from roy moore, and naus
National Republicans
pulled their endorsement, and then the party seemed to turn back around when
President Trump
seemed to pull h put his support for roy moore, much like weve seen with the access hollywood allegations. You had a piece today saying the world is watching, john, what it will see are consequences, what exactly are those consequences . Well, the consequences for the state of alabama, for instance, and that everybody will see the things they have always thought about alabama, that alabama has tried so long to distance themselves from are true. It will have consequences for the nation, because the nation gets roy moore and everything it represents. It has consequences to the
Republican Party
. But the
Republican Party
gets roy moore and all that means, the real consequences here in alabama i think are women who claim they have been abused and women who have been abused and molested and raped, and in this atmosphere have finally found a voice to express it, but theyre essentially told this is not a safe place to come out and speak. Yeah, dont come out and speak with somebody who i am aligned with politically. Steve, youre watching the big boards, what are you focusing on tonight . Yeah, two ways to look at it. Last years election trump won this by a landslide, we know the target here and you heard vaughn talking about it a little bit. He is saying those suburbs, typically white people in alabama, here is the first place to look. Lets go to the county that has the highest share of
College Graduates
in alabama, right here outside birmingham. This is
Shelby County
, and look at this. Traditionally republican, 50point margin for donald trump, now look, democrats are not going to win
Shelby County
but here is what you can look at. That is 73 that trump got, can you get it down to 61 or 62, if they do that they would be on track in that county. Here, very quickly the other counties with the high share of
College Graduates
, you have shelby, not good work at at. Shelby right there outside, huntsville, madison, take a look in jefferson that is where birmingham is, lee, that is where
Auburn University
is, montgomery, the state capital, baldwin, outside mobile. These are areas with high for alabama
College Graduates
. This is what the democrats are looking for. You heard vaughn say this, the rural areas, the trump base, take a look, basically north of birmingham except for huntsville, everything here except that
Madison County
that i circled, this is the area where donald trump performed much better than donald trump performed. He did extremely well, that is the question for moore. This trump era polarization. Brought trump to new heights in the election. Does he get a boost there the way trump does . What does it say politicly . What democrats need to do to get the senate next year is get a net gain of three senate seats. You already see like arizona next year looks like its in play, nevada is in play, maybe the democrats put the senate in play. That could be a stretch, look at this if you win tonight if youre a democrat in alabama that plus three becomes plus. That would be all you need next year. And suddenly just nevada, just arizona, that could potentially be enough. So in terms of
Senate Control
next year if democrats can get a pickup right here right now tonight, that changes the map for 2018. Steve, thank you, vaughn, last night you spoke to a man who had a pretty powerful message for roy moore. He was i guess one of the lone protesters standing outside of moores events. Just run through that with me, i know it has gotten a lot of attention on social media. Reporter yeah, last night to give you an idea of where we were at, its midland city, in the wire grass, heavy republican area and this man was standing outside with a sign as well as a picture of a young girl in her basketball jersey. And he began talking and saying that she committed suicide at the age of 23, that she was gay. He said at one point he was antigay, he said things to her that he regretted deeply. He wanted people to understand that he was a man of faith and that roy moore was not a man he agreed with. I want to play you a sound bite from part of that interview. And i was antigay myself. I said bad things to my daughter myself which i regret. Now, you know, judge moore, not just said my daughter, he didnt call my daughter by name. He said all gay people were perverts, abomination. That is not true. We dont need a person like that representing us in washington. That is why im here. Reporter katy, it was moving testimony to listen to. And the issue of gay rights, transgender rights is a much denti discussed issue out here. In many of these
Rural Communities
you find many of faith background. I dont want to paint too broad of a stroke when i say that but roy moore has been at the front of those campaign speeches. When he addresses it, its an issue he tries to rally the base around. He said you know much of the country, progress has been made on this front. Here in alabama, its still a very hot button issue that the leading republican candidate here has run his campaign around. And clearly, for
Many Democrats
you feel like they dont have a voice here. Its still a very tough issue, kate. I can understand people who want to vote for roy moore, looking at the
National Media
and
National Lawmakers
saying i dont want to listen to you people. Youre outsiders, you know nothing about the alabama politics. But anna, when you go on social media and you see on facebook and twitter and you see the interview with that gentleman who lost his daughter and it is shared hundreds of thousands of times, does that resonate with regular people of alabama . Yeah, i think it does. A lot of people i have spoken with, i made it a point to speak with a lot of republican women, even evangelical voters. There is a more diverse crowd than you may expect, a lot of them never voted for a democrat in their life but they do have people who they love in their lives who may be gay. Women who may have come forward about assault or things like that. And so a lot of them, they dont want to vote for moore, and theyre looking for reasons not to. They have a problem with voting for a democrat or somebody who in their eyes is proabortion, so a lot of them have been doing a lot of soul searching. So its not just i dont believe the women and im going to vote for moore anyway with those kind of folks. And youre looking live at a polling station in montgomery, alabama, folks lining up to cast their ballots. Anna vollier,
Vaughn Hilliard
,
Steve Kornacki
, thank you. And next,
Mitch Mcconnell
, the
Senate Majority
leader now speaking to reporters about roy moore, lets listen in. And in the haste to finish this, is a lot of it coming from alabama whether it be doug jones or roy moore, you want to know what the existing senate is with an unknown, who will vote on tax no. How do you like that . Thank you for the clearance. Senator strange is going to be here through the end of the session. Should roy moore win whether or not you will see him on committees, he would be in line to replace senator strange and also formally invite him to participate . David, all of those are good questions for tomorrow. And we await the outcome of the
Alabama Senate
race. Mr. Leader . What can you guarantee will be the stop gap on the funding the government there is no chance well shut the government down. Were in discussions, not only on a cap deal but also the way forward on appropriations. And there is some other yearend items that we need to address. Mitch mcconnell asked whether or not the tax calculus, getting it done in the reconciliation process, will have anything to do with what is going on in alabama and the potential for doug jones to maybe win down there,
Mitch Mcconnell
had a clear and definitive answer. No. Next up, one of the president s lawyers has come up with a whopper of a plan to further discredit
Robert Mueller
. He now wants to investigate the investigator. Well explain. And coming up in moments,

Robert Mueller and his team, but should focus on jay sekulow, and what the belief is regarding corruption that you just mentioned and the demotion of the senior doj official. But feel like there is a broader pattern to be explored. We have been hearing this drum beat by the trump loyalists, key members of congress coming out alleging there is more going on here that needs to be investigated properly. It seems there is an attempt by the trump team to muddy the water a bit. Not just trump loyalists, but fox news calling into question the special prosecutor, calling it secret, he and his lawyers secret police. There are a lot of implications with the president trying to cut this investigation or potentially to try to fire
Robert Mueller. There are a number of headlines i want to read to you. Saying that america is heading for an unprecedented constitutional crisis. And saying the constitution is in moral danger, and the
Washington Post, saying it pushes us closer to the precipi precipice. The onslaught of attacks against the credibility and the reputation of
Robert Mueller. Can this investigation survive . For now, its living on and continuing. Right now
President Trump has a lot to say obviously these many months about what he views as a witch hunt and a hoax, we stopped short of him accusing the credibility of mueller. His lawyers have been imploring him to please not attack mueller, telling him if he continues to cooperate with the
Mueller Investigation it would be over. First they said it would be over by thanksgiving, but that has come and gone, then they said by christmas, now the latest word is it will be over by sometime in january and the new year and the president for now seems to believe them. Richard, the investigation may go on, but there is a concerted effort to undercut its credibility. So if
Robert Mueller comes out and announces his conclusion and it is not in the favor of the president there is going to be a lot of people out there who will say this was not fair and that it was a witch hunt and politicly motivated. And they have a lot of voices out there that are willing to back them up on that. What happens when
Robert Mueller comes out and makes his announcement . Well, lets see what he has to say. But there is no worry he could attack the credibility of
Robert Mueller but they are, richard, they are, and there are people in this country, lots of people in this country who want to believe it and are willing to believe it. Yeah, they want to believe it. But he is really a traditional republican many of us in the
Republican Party have admired
Robert Mueller for years, even though we say he is nonpartisan, he has impeccable credentials, he was in the marines, impeccable credentials under president bush and obama, and there is no way you can attack the credibility and professionalism of
Robert Mueller. And anybody who tries doing that, its going to be very transparent what their motives are. Of course people being prosecuted or being investigated dont like the investigators or the prosecutors. The mafia doesnt like prosecutors either. But for fox news to be weighing in that way and making up a bunch of stories and the latest story is about some ethics approval letter that
Robert Mueller got its all a lot of nonsense, and theyre just doing that as a smoke screen to cover up for the fact that
Robert Mueller is moving up on some targets that may be very high up in this administration and well wait and see what he has to say new the democr n. The democrats are coming out with some reporters, but you were talking about the race in alabama and roy moore. And here is what you said. In the 30s, some people elected a
Public Office in europe talked about jews the way the moore family does today. By the midfirs40s, there were ma many. Many left. Kayla moore last night at that interesting rally came out and reading from prepared notes tried to push back on this idea that she and her husband were antisemitic or antiblack, by saying one of her lawyers is a jew and that they have many black friends. Richard, are you confident giving your warning with these tweets that there is anybody listening in the
Republican Party . Lawmakers . Well, i dont think any decent christian or anyone else could vote for roy moore. He said specifically with respect to george soros, he would go to hell, because he didnt believe in god as savior, that is his attack on religion, saying they were going to go to hell. His wife cant backtrack on that, saying we have a jewish lawyer, that doesnt work. In american politics, we dont accept antisemitism. And i dont see how anybody can vote for anybody who hates blacks, jews, and seems to like teenage girls. Next, senator gillibrand calls it a sexist smear, and
Elizabeth Warren calls it slut shaming, were talking about the president s tweet, saying that gillibrand came begging for donations and would do anything about it. Plus, the alleged attacker in new york is officially charged with terrorism. And police say he had some final words for donald trump, before he tried to blow himself up in times square. Part of you. And i will not be silenced on this issue. Neither will the women who stood up to the president yesterday, and neither will the millions of women who have been marching since the womens march to stand up for policies they dont agree with. Today, senator gillibrand standing up after the accusations of
President Trump, and coming forward after women discussed allegations of
Sexual Misconduct. The president has repeatedly denied allegations and this morning he went on twitter to discuss it. Today, lightweight gillibrand, a total flunky for senator schumer, now in the ring fighting against trump. Very disloyal to bill and crooked used. What does crooked used mean. Senator warren immediately slammed the president tweeting are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut shame gillibrand . Do you know who youre dealing with . Gillibrand is the only senator calling for trumps resignation that she has attacked. One of the women who as she said let the genie out of the bottle on reporting
Sexual Misconduct, senator carlson settling against fox news, and roger ailes, just last week she met with other women regarding bipartisan legislation, also the author of be fierce, stop harassment and take your power back. As always, thank you for joining us, thank you for starting this movement. Thank you. The president today with that tweet. What did he intend to say . What did he mean . And we can well, who knows what he was thinking about. Here is what i think about it. It was totally sexist, for him to only slam senator gillibrand, there have been others who have called for his resignation and to call her a lightweight. First of all a sexist slam. And then to say she would do anything for campaign contributions, what the hell does that mean . What does it mean . It sounds like she is a prostitute. It seems to suggest she would do anything for a campaign contribution, such as sexual favors. Do you think he treats it differently regarding men and women . Yes, to call out our colleagues, calling out other women on twitter saying things in howard stern interviews, saying things on an access hollywood tape, there is a list longer than i can recount right now on the show. And the way he tries to tenor saying he loves women, he cherishes them and that may be true. And what we need to understand in this
Sexual Harassment wave, katy, its apolitical. How many times do you have to say that . You cant pick and choose who you want to believe based on the
Political Party theyre in. They do it all the time. That is why i was smiling when you said i was successful in getting a bipartisan bill in the house and senate. My goodness, nothing bipartisan happens on capitol hill. Imagine if we could pass it and get secret arbitration for women in
Sexual Harassment cases. Imagine if this would pass. Would he sign it . I think he would feel tremendous pressure to sign it just like members of the house and senate will be pressure to be on the right side of history in passing this. He doesnt succumb to that pressure, when its put on him he pushes back. There are strategic ways to get things signed. Which i wont go into all the things were working on, but im confident well get it passed in the house and senate. Democratic women are calling on the president to be investigated for the allegations against him. The accusers who accused him of
Sexual Misconduct which he denies are calling for the same, a
Congressional Committee that investigates his behavior. Is that a good idea, given that he wont resign given that he has been found to do things. I think if the bill clinton situations were happening now in 2017, its a different time. But yes, to be fair to those women who accuse trump of
Sexual Misconduct that there should be an investigation. Their stories came out. And then they disappeared. And then we had this
Tipping Point where so many other women that im so proud of felt the bravery and courage to come forward and look where we are. But those women felt like they were never heard. So theyre coming back. And he actually has encouraged them to come back because he tweets about it. He tweets about the
Sexual Harassment of other people who are high profile. And in my mind, that encourages the story to come back to him. Chuck schumer just came out and spoke to reporters and talked about senator gillibrand. Lets take a listen. Its not playing. We would love to know what
Chuck Schumer said, can someone tell me what he said in my ear and i can relay it . He said the tweet was nasty. And unbecoming of the office. Which is what were hearing from a lot of folks. Do republicans have an obligation to come out and take a stand to defend senator gillibrand as just another human being . I think men and women alike whether or not youre independent, democratic or republican need to defend women when theyre put in these kind of sexist situations. Listen, i know that for my kids, this is why im doing what im doing. And im doing it for anyone who is watching today, their kids, do we want them to face the same indigti indigties . No, so we need to stand up for any woman, no matter what
Political Party she is and saying enough is enough. It has to stop. You cant only pick and choose who you want to believe in this country. Well put,
Gretchen Carlson, good to have you back. Thank you. Good luck with the book and the tour. See you later. There are new developments this afternoon in the investigation into that attempted terrorist attack here in new york city. The suspect, 27yearold akayed ullah, now faces federal charges including the use of a weapon of mass destruction. According to
Court Documents he left a message on line for
President Trump on the morning of the track and has written other antiamerican statements. Nbc
Stephanie Goff is here with me in the news room. Stephanie, walk us through the latest development. Sure, there are a number of jarring things coming out from the u. S. Attorneys office on the complaint. But the morning you alluded to, the morning of the blast, akayed ullah posted, trump, you failed to protect your nation. A real stick in the eye to a president who doesnt particularly take well to a stick in the eye. There are a number of other interesting and disturbing things that they outline in this complaint. There are five charges, ill give you three of them now. One, the support for a former terrorist organization, in a public place and use of a weapon of mass destruction. It then goes into some details about his radicalized behavior, that began three years ago on line and he was responding to isis propaganda that he then looked into building a bomb about a year ago. And then a week ago he put together that bomb. They also found his passport it said at his home in brooklyn. And there were notes on it including one, which said oh, america, die in your rage. Very clearly, a man who had been in this country for a while. He was here because he had a
Family Member who was a citizen here, and you hear trump talk about the chain immigration. That is what he is talking about. And he alluded to it today in his comments. And there are reports that akayed ullah wanted to specifically attack new york during the holiday season. Yeah, a senior
Law Enforcement official tells nbc news that he was inspired by the call for threats during the christmas season. Attacks during the christmas season. That official went further and said that there was actually a particular spot in the tunnel that he had stopped at i have to say i was in that tunnel this morning. I didnt exactly see they do say that he chose that moment because he said it would be busy. That people would be commuting and certainly at 7 20 a. M. , that is one of the busiest passageways between
Port Authority and times square. It is jammed with people. Especially when its cold outside. We dodged a bullet. If that bomb had exploded completely in that tunnel, it would have been a mass destruction. Were just hours away from finding out who alabama will choose to serve as their best
United States senator. But as voters head to the polls not even one of the states sitting senators can say how he would receive a roy moore win. If roy moore were to win tonight, how would you have to get along with him . I try to get along with everybody. But well have to see what happens, i know roy moore, but ill tell you, i didnt vote for him. That obviously, the other senator from alabama, senator
Richard Shelby. And from mountains brook, alabama, speaking to voters we just heard from, that includes senator shelby. Katy, what do you hear from folks down there . I was talking to a lady who said she was still pretty conflicted. Reporter there are a lot of conflicted voters here in alabama, obviously leading more to crisis for people once they get inside that booth, which way do i go . Ive been a life long republican. I cant vote for a democrat. Thats the story we heard all morning. You had your own crisis, tell us about that. Yes, maam, i am a life long republican and this is the first time in my entire life that i havent voted for the republican candidate. I have wrote in nick saban instead. True alabama football fan. That was your choice, huh . Yes, maam. And the reason why is at first i was going to vote for the other guy. But then i have a crisis in the voting booth. And started thinking about what
Richard Shelby had said, and condoleezza rice. And it just hit me. And so i just wrote in nick saban. You were saying both of them have had sort of a profound effect on you, what senator shelby said really moved you . Yes. I love him. He has done a wonderful job for alabama. I just dont think the other guy would do nearly as good a job. Right. Has this been hard on alabama being in the spotlight in this way for such a long time. Finally election day is here. There has to be a sigh of relief among people. Right. I was a huge
Luther Strange guy. Okay . I loved
Luther Strange, when he lost it really deflated me and made me think gosh what has this country come to. But i am a sigh of relief bigtime because something i dont want to have to do again. Thank you for joining us, greg. As i said, a lot of voters experiencing this sort of conflict today wondering what way things should go. Its interesting that he brings up condoleezza rice. She is well respected and somebody that steve bannon decide to go after yesterday much to the debt bringment of could be steve bannon, who knows. The former judge has never been a popular figure in alabama politics n. Fact, moore has a history of making inflammatory comments, many of which republicans will likely be forced to defend or at least try to ignore if he wins. He said muslims should not sit in congress that families were quote united under slavery. Homosexual conduct should be illegal. 9 11 was god punishing perverseness. He has a personal belief that obama was not born in the u. S. Thats where he and the president align, i guess. Referred to native americans and asians as reds and yellow. He saidis laum is contrary to the u. S. Institution and claimed the u. S. Was better without the last 17 amendments, one of which ended slavery. Another gave women the right to vote. Bill brit is host of the voice of alabama politics, and joe hammondtry is the managing producer of reckon. Thank you for joining us. Bill, roy moore has a history in that said said. I listed controversial singes thing he said in the past, controversial beliefs he still holds today. Do they make a difference to voters down there . I think they do. I think they have always made a difference. Roy moore has always been a fire brand. He is his own brand of republican. But there are about 30 of the republican base, maybe 35 , agree with him. And there are a lot of alabamians that in their private and personal life do feel strongly about some of the things that roy moore says. Moore has been fighting back against modernity since he first took office 30some years ago. He will continue to do that. And that makes a lot of people uncomfortable here and across the nation. So, john, roy moore was interviewed yesterday by a 12yearold girl who knows why the campaign thought it was a good idea to have a 12yearold girl interview him. But regardless, they did. And heres what he said about why millie should cast their votes for him. What do you think is the
Biggest Issue the campaign is working on right now . Its actually the prolife issue. Because in this campaign it is a clear contrast between democrats and republicans. Our opponent believes in abortion up to the day a baby is born. I dont like to see it. And roy moore, being the republican nominee embodies the platform of the
Republican Party leading up with im sorry. That was the wrong sound byte. That was bug jones being interviewed by the same girl that wasnt doug jones. That was somebody else, the girl interviewing somebody else. Bill, roy moore is talking about christianity, religious values, john, excuse me, he is talking about abortion. Is that going to be the key issue. Abortion is a factor. But as far as family and christian values i dont know. I grew up in alabama. My parents both went to church of christ baptist. I grew up going to a
Baptist Church and those arent my values. I dont think those are the values of a lot of other alabamians. The idea that he is projecting a lot of this on the rest of the state. I think thats why you are seeing pushback including young voters showing up in droves to the polls. What about africanamerican. Doug jones is going to need the american vote, he has been campaigning with american leaders including cory booker. Charles barkley was out there campaigning for him. Take a listen. And im curious after the sound byte for what you think the africanamerican turnout is going to be like. We have had so much support from the
Africanamerican Community over the years. I think they have seen in doug jones a partner for a long time and they sure dont see a partner in roy moore if you look at the the history of what he has said about slavery, is a sessionists, getting rid of amendments that were passed right after the civil war. Its only natural i think that the
Africanamerican Community rally around someone who was there for them and prosecuted a heinous crime that occurred decades ago. Are black voters going to show up for him . Yeah, i think so. You know, there was a lot of the similar spectacular speculation on the eve of the virginia election, would black voters show up, had he pushed them away. Then they showed up the droves and flipped the state. We dont have the same type of local elections here that will lead to more black voters showing up other than at montgomery. I think they are going to show up in the numbers that he needs. Also in places like
Mountain Brook where you were just talking to a voter, in 2012, roy moore only got 36 of the vote there. If that holds this year we are looking at an upset. John, what counties are you watching out for tonight . Ive been hearing about talladega . Im definitely going to be watching jefferson, how high will the turnout about there. Thats going to be doug jones biggest base of support. And then
Madison County, where
Luther Strange beat roy moore in the primary earlier this year. And then mobile and baldwin county. A reporter,
Brendan Kirby a former colleague of mine tweeted he spoke to a probate judge and they are expecting as much as 45 of the vote there could go to doug jones. And if thats the case roy moore is in trouble. What happens if roy moore wins, john im sorry, bill . Again, i would disagree with johns assessment. But thats because what we are seeing on the ground. Voter turnout in rural black communities is terribly low. Its terribly low across the state right now because doug jones has never given africanamericans to vote for them other than 30 years ago he did alioic thing. But he has done nothing for africanamericans in the state of alabama. If he loses, doug jones is in office for a couple of years and then he will thoroughly rejected because of his outrageous stand according to the people of alabama for liberal ideas. I mean, we are a conservative. You can paint it any way you want to. Even most of our africanamericans are very conservative, conservative, but they do vote democratic. Bill brit, and john hammondtry, sorry about the snafu about that sound byte. That was richard holidayistson, join chiefs of staff. Thank you for joining us. Well be right back. So thats the idea. What do you think . Hate to play devils advocate but. I kind of feel like its a game changer. I wouldnt go that far. Are you there . Hes probably on mute. Yeah. Gary wont like it. Why . Because hes gary. phone ringing what . Keep going yeah. laughs voice on phone its not millennial enough. There are a lot of ways to say no. Thank you so much. Thank you so were doing it. Yes we got a yes start saying yes to your companys best ideas. Let us help with money and knowhow, so you can get business done.
